Bring back the Forum Games.

Recommended Posts

When I was scrolling through the forum before I even officially joined it, I found a topic thread called Forum Games. I checked it out and alot of them looked pretty fun. Goes to show how creative players can be when coming up with a new game to play.

Sadly, I never got to play any of them, and that was due them already being closed.

Reason why I think they need to come back is because when really nothing to do in the forum except watch arguments happening or find yourself involved in one. Both of the scenarios have a very negative effect on the forum itself. The off-topic thing is also pretty much dead since only a few are active there. Also, the forum games have proven to let players relax and enjoy, and brings them closer together.

So when bringing back the forum games, I think they should have their own thread in the beginners zone sub forum. The beginners zone are both game related and off-topic technically. Plus they're the second sub forum you'll see from top to bottom.

Declined

The forum games section was very inactive for the past 2 years or so. The games did not serve any purpose so the forum administration has decided to close the section for good. Additionally, we do not accept ideas regarding removed features/updates.

I disagree on this point.

They gave the members something to do besides talking about the game itself which you already know have alot of sensitive subjects which cause arguments. And it gets tiresome that its literally the only thing we experienced nowadays. Rename the forum to Argumenti Online, lol.

Also, I'm pretty sure that the forum games have brought the community closer together before due to their relaxing nature.

When forum games were active, we had no problems with keeping the section up. Since the section was barely used anyways, it will remain as is - closed.

The forum is meant for discussions - different people will have different opinions. We always encourage our members to start respectful discussions so each one of them will be able to express their opinion with the community. Our forum moderators team is always looking after all the topics in the forum and especially the "hot" ones (i.e topics in which there is a high risk for toxic arguments, flaming, etc..). If you spot a member crossing the line, you should use the report button and we will take care of the situation.

Some members just need to understand the difference between debating and argueing

The forum games section used to be like old forumers' hideout. Like, when an old forumer revisit forums, they will most likely post there. Now it is closed, Idk if they'll post when they revisit.

We cannot keep the section open just for the chance that an old forumer will comeback to post there (and then will leave again).

Well there's also a difference between understanding and choosing not to care. For example, some members, which I'm not gonna list because they know who they are and we know who they are, will just argue just for the sake of arguing whether it is starting one or keeping one going.

Well, that's a very bleak purpose and future the forum will have. The ways of having fun here are limited.

As I mentioned earlier, you can always use the report button.

You seem to forget that the forum games section was completely inactive for months before its closure, we didn't wake up one day and said to ourselves "Hi, everyone seems to really like the forum games section, let's close it!"

While true it was inactive. But wasn't it in the off-topic subforum, which is somewhere near the bottom of the forum?

When most members join, they only go as far down as the general subforum, at least as far as I've noticed. Only few would explore the sub forums below that.

So, while it was true that it was inactive, isn't it also true that the situation I presented might've been a contributing factor for its inactivity?

The reason for the inactivity of the topic wasn't its location in the forum, but the decrease of the forum members over the years. When players leave the game, they also stop using the forum. Additionally, apps like Discord also were a main factor to the death of forum games.

That is also true. Very.

I've seen the interface of discord from some members pics of it, I wasn't too impressed with the functions. Don't think I'm gonna join it.
