Game crashes and softlocks

This is more extreme than your typical bug or glitch. Most bugs and glitches can be easily fixed or avoided while crashes and softlocks usually can't be fixed unless the game is closed. 

I am sure we all have experienced a crash or softlock while playing tanki. Maybe some of you haven't and if you encounter one, it is likely necessary to close the game and restart it.

It is important to understand a key difference between bugs/glitches vs crashes/softlocks. Bugs and glitches are usually fixable with minimal effort while crashes and softlocks require you to leave the game due to its unplayable state.

If your thoughts compare more to a bug or glitch, then I advise visiting Bugs and Glitches Reports under communications and feedback.

Here is where you can discuss a time when you played the game and for some unknown reason, the game stops working properly and you can't fix it.

I've never experienced one in tanki online but in other games. I think there needs to be a spot to discuss this though.

I experienced a softlock once and it was annoying as hell...

I was playing polygon CP for nearly 2 hours and then out of nowhere, the other tanks froze and there was a loud buzzing in the background. After about 5 minutes, I said to myself  I'm leaving." Of course I didn't get my rewards.

After I left, everything was normal and I played 2 matchmaking battles without a problem then eventually logged off.

Softlock is generally for situations when the game works as intended, but you can't continue playing because you're physically stuck. This is either because you got yourself into a spot you can't get out of and can't get yourself to respawn, or because you somehow destroyed an item necessary for progression, like throwing away a key for the door. Softlocking is impossible in Tanki because you can always self-destruct to respawn. If self-destructing doesn't work or doesn't solve your issue, it's because of a problem with your connection or the game servers, in which case the game isn't working as intended and therefore you aren't softlocked.

@Maf I believe mine was maybe a problem with the battle itself because people in the chat said they were experiencing the same problem and remember that I played matchmaking normally afterwards.

@Maf About an hour before starting this topic, I experienced something similar to Inkling_Boy. I noticed that people in that chat were annoyed by it too. My mouse was locked, the screen was frozen (except for the timer and animated paints), and there was a very loud buzzing in the background. The only way to end it was to press ctrl + w and exit the game. Since nothing was working at all and the game was "unplayable" I would classify this as a crash and I think you would too. The only way to fix it was to close the game and took a lot more than a self-destruct to fix.

I would like to report a softlock that I experienced in the firebird/wasp event. The game seemed totally normal, but we couldn't kill eachother, we couldn't capture the point, and we couldn't catch gold boxes.
