Question:

In what way does increased team size contribute to the quality of the game or the revenue Tanki receives from the game?  In other words what do large team sizes like 14vs14 or even 10vs10 do for the player or Tanki itself?...what is the benefit of increased team size (what I would call overcrowding)?

Spoiler

Observations and Opinions (related to this question):

For my part and for the twenty plus times I've asked on the forum, I can find no tangible benefit from overcrowding.  On the other hand I can name several reasons why overcrowding is a very BAD idea and is hurting the game and possibly Tanki's bottom line.

1.  Overcrowding causes a much higher amount of lag in every single battle.  More players means the server has more information from each player to process which slows responsiveness.

2.  Overcrowding excludes some players from playing Tanki in any higher rank account because of the "NO DAMAGE" issue...Like me, that's why I keep ranting about it.  I have a 5G internet connection and can successfully play games that require a huge amount more computing power than Tanki with no problems (Ark: Survivor Evolved...on the highest graphics settings).  But, while I can successfully play Tanki with low ranked accounts (small maps, small number of players), I can almost never join a battle with my higher ranked account and do damage in that battle...especially on the large maps...and especially a few hours on either side of Restart time.

3.  Overcrowding, especially on large maps, causes a huge amount of players to leave battles early...in every single battle.  Check out any 14vs14 battle and there will be at least 40 players throughout the course of the battle...it is constant leaving and joining...which contributes to even more lag.  I have watched as many as 70 players join and leave within the 28 player framework.  This join/leave situation caused by overcrowding large maps generally reduces the number of players to just a handful of active participants...usually just 5 or 6 on each team.

4.  Somewhat related to point #4 is the increased number of passive players caused by overcrowding...like me.  I still want to keep my higher account active in case Tanki ever improves it's game degrading policy of overcrowding battles in the higher ranks, so I do whatever missions I can like "complete a mode" mission or "collect boxes" missions.  Since I can never do damage, this makes me a passive player or a "mult"  I complete the battle but add nothing to my team's effort because I can't do damage but I need to complete a mission in a specific mode or collect boxes.  I also have ample time to look at the "Tab Menu" and see how many players join/leave and how many players do nothing related to the battle.  At the end of each 14vs14 battle, there are almost always two to five players on each team that have been completely passive (as indicated by 0 destroyed with several lost) and that does not include the players that have left the battle.

So in essence, when looking at point #3 and #4, overcrowding may actually reduce the number of active participants in any particular battle over the original 8vs8.  There may be slots for 14 on a team but when half that team turns over within the 6.5 minutes and three slots are empty or filled with passive players, that 14 player team is really just five or six players where the 8vs8 team usually has six or seven active players and many times eight active players (based on my memory and currently on lower rank battles).

5. Overcrowded large map battles seem to much more boring and slow paced since you spend much of the battle driving to somewhere just to get one-shotted.  You may be alive longer, but scores and actual battling are drastically reduced from smaller maps with fewer players.

6.  If a player can't do damage in the higher ranks, what is his motivation to increase his rank?  If he has no reason to increase his rank, and in fact finds increasing rank a detriment to enjoyment, what are the chances he will invest real money into the game?  All I can do now is play lower rank accounts, so I make an account, play it to between Rank11 and Rank16, abandon it, and then make a new account.  I have no motivation what so ever to buy equipment from Tanki since each account is relatively short lived.

I sincerely doubt that I am the only player to have these issues with overcrowding and lage maps...in fact I see evidence of it in 99% of every battle I join with my higher ranked account.  I have plenty of time to chat since I can't do damage and whenever I bring up "no damage" there is a deluge of agreement with me and players complaining about the same problems.

Why exclude players and potential buyers for no apparent benefit?  Why make battles more laggy than necessary?  Why increase the frustration level of so many players causing even more players to quit the game altogether?  All that needs to be done to correct this "NO DAMAGE" issue is make battles no more than 8vs8 (based on Tanki's previous functionality and currently on lower ranked battles)...easy fix.

What are the plans to replace the current profile pages and integrate them into the game?  Will profile information continue to be accessible to discord bots and other tools?

When are we gonna get gifts back?  I like gifts and they might be a slight source of revenue for Tanki.  Are there plans to re-introduce gifts before the end of the year?

Is it worth waiting for epic and rare augments for Gauss (not SE-based)? Maybe not exactly these rarities. Like turn off off splash in arcade mode and other games with characteristics...

Why the developers know there's a detrimental bug in the game but do nothing about it for months? If you join a map, and close the client during the LOADING phase. Your account will forever be stuck in the map, and this allows for sabotage to occur. Something should be done about this.

Why were the turret "Alterations" rebranded and called "Augments" now and why do like half of the turret/hull augments have downsides, while the other half have no downsides?

Spoiler

My reason for asking this question is because (taken from my original post):

Are they supposed to be upgrades to the turret, meaning its to upgrade the default versions?

In none of the vlogs, you guys never CLEARLY nor really publically explained the reason why you changed their names from "Alterations" to "Augments". Based on what I saw last year on the vlog that introduced us to Hull Augments you only said that it was done so the naming system would match the hull augments.

But many of the recent turret Augments, as well as 90% of the hull Augments, are literally 100% pure upgrades compared to the turret/hull's default, non-augmented version.

So are turret augments supposed to be better versions of the turrets, aka "Upgrades"?

Because, "Alterations" were supposed to be balanced "modifications" of the turrets to introduce new abilities and playstyles so people can customize their turret however they wanted without making the game harder/unfair/unbalanced for those who can't afford/don't want to buy turret alterations and prefer using the default versions of each turret.

And on the official English version of the game wiki, it states, and I quote, "Augments are modifiers that allow a player to alter gameplay features of turrets and hulls while keeping them within the overall game's balance. For example, an augment can weaken one characteristic in favor of strengthening another one."

But contrary to what the wiki says, a good portion of the Augments simply just add a new effect and/or buff existing parameters, without nerfing something else about the turret/hull to compensate for the increased power in any way. Some examples of this are the Adrenaline Augments, Ricochet's Super Smart Minus Field, and Shaft's Healing Emitters, Hammer's High Capacity Ammo Clip and Magnum's Armor-Piercing Core. And these augments are far superior to the default versions of their respective equipment as well to other augments that include nerfs/drawbacks to their effects.

So I am confused. Are Augments supposed to be upgrades, or are they supposed to be balanced modifications (aka, Alterations) to the turret's gameplay mechanics? Or did you guys decide to just do a max of both and put them all under one name - "Augments"?

Why have you released Tesla to Ultra containers? It's clearly aimed towards the buyers and had made MM battles unbearable. It's like you're digging your own grave for any smooth brain to give money to you.

Will you introduce micro-upgrades for supplies in the near future?

Because micro-upgrades for drones are ridiculously expensive, and drones use batteries and supplies too, so most players don't use them. But since the supplies update, it's almost vital for you to have a drone or you get killed in battle repeatedly. Additionally, it'd be better if the micro-upgrades for supplies (as in to upgrade them completely) would cost a total of 1 million crystals. Thanks for taking the time for reading this, really hope you answer.

Do you have plans to add a button Within the battle interface so you can view challenges and the rest like special daily missions, and also be it possible again to be able to accept new friend requests within the battle?? ?

Are you planning to add coinboxes to the regular containers now that the price of the battle pass has been increased. I feel this change would help players to afford battle pass and progress faster.

Why were discounts on crystal kits reduced once they were moved to the shop, and why isn't there a section of the shop that has them available all the time?

When you bring the better graphics to the game, will you add to the game as well: Actual 3D grass and other vegetation, 3D railways and 3D windows and doors, and the other things that should be 3D, more objects and decorations like moveable traffic signs which doesnt affect gameplay, actual backgrounds to the maps instead of wallpapers, so they would feel like integral parts of terrain (the background would reach so far that its final boundary could not be seen from the actual playing area of the map). some water to the maps (could be low depth and possible to drive in) actually triangular roofs to make them better for parkour, 3D snow like low depth and possible to drive there, and anylike raining or snowing to the game

I have noticed that the game is somewhat poorly optimized, and I understand it, with the new version, I know that everything is being done again, but my question is:

when HTML5 is completely finished, will the game be well optimized?

Why don't you change the gameplay? You can't compete with players who buy, you will get to be with fewer players and it has happened since you added the drones

If you removed the micro upgrade when the next modification is available to buy, then why on earth the parameters of micro upgrade are still shown in the garage and not the parameters for the next modification?

But all joking aside, here's a more serious question.

What ever happened with the idea or plan to add hulls that could climb vertically inclined walls?

Was it scrapped? Did you just not get around to it? Are you saving it for a later date?

Reason why I chose to ask this question was because I haven't heard it mentioned for a few years. So an update in that regard would be nice.
