Question

I think a lot of us can agree that chat bans are not justified and are given out to enforce rules. But I'd like to know how many people actually think that bans are not justified or given out rightfully and that they are given out for no specific reason.

You are likely to get a ban if you swear in chat, post too many messages after one another, provoke arguments or spam characters like "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" or "FFFFFFFF". Both written and unwritten rules. If you do not do either of those then you should be fine. If you firmly disagree with your ban - you should be honest and objective to yourself first, were my reaction and action truly reasonable and fair - you could contact a chat administrator. I got a few chat warnings/bans in the past, but then I was aware it was because of above reasons.

EDIT: so yes, in short, I think most bans are justified. You seem to be a bit skeptical I think, what were your experiences?

You are more likely to get a ban depending on who you are rather than what you say.

I was banned for 160 hours by a DE moderator here (twice) for accurately calling out ineffective moderation.

One ban was reduced for being unfairly harsh and the other wasn't. I personally didn't care about either of them.

However, I have proven (to the admins and mods) that some tankers do not get banned for chat violations and others do get banned for the same violation.

So, my answer continues to be that the rules are not enforced equally for all.

And thus, because of that, bans cannot be considered justified.

More than 90% of bans are not justified. I've seen countless tankers not get banned for saying the same exact profanity words. If you think that's justified, I think your logic is absolutely wrong and that you'd need to reconsider your "idea or philosphy."

Thank you Jeers4U, at least someone who knows this kinds of situation. Makes me wonder if every single person who plays this game would agree with us?

Well seems like there are 5 Yes and 0 No's, so we can safely assume that everyone agrees bans are not justified???
