I am on edge between quitting tanki. Should I just quit already?

Edit: I am usually beaten to death in matchmaking. I suspect that many users hack. I have no friends that play tanki. I find the game more frustrating than enjoyable. I find the shop prices too high. I spend a high majority of my time under some sort of harsh consequence (deserved though), I am often bullied by others in this game due to my childish username. And more reasons I shouldn't disclose.

Why stay? It is teen year nostalgia!

Maybe something in the middle called taking a break from the game.

Blocklist them. Or report them.

I also forgot to mention this, but I am free to play and NO financial help towards tanki. Also, can those who work for tanki NOT respond to the poll because you guys are forced to say no by your chivalry of being an employee

I never quite understand posts like this. Hey, it's a game and you might have some attachment or nostalgic reminiscence. But games are ultimately meant to make you happy and spend some free time. If you're no longer happy, then take a break.

Completely agree.
Also it makes it sound like you have to sign some binding document that makes you quit and never ever return again.
If you are no longer getting the enjoyment of playing the game, then simply stop. And if there ever comes a time you want to try again, feel free to do that aswell :) .

The first time I quit, it felt awful. I was playing the game daily, but it was becoming more and more frustrating, I felt like I cant have fun, that the game is broken, everything that could go wrong in the game did go wrong. When I stepped away from the game, the first couple of weeks have been the hardest. You create a habit, and it is pretty difficult to break it, even if it is becoming toxic for you. But after those few weeks it has became much better. Now, I can be away for months and dont miss the game at all tbh, then I come back for a bit to check what is new, and then leave again to not step in that same river again. Try to find new things in your life to fulfill your time, new hobbies, part time jobs, friends and family time, pets, its much easier to quit when you are occupied, For me it was job and traveling away from home that helped me to finally take a break from the game.

Why are you letting other players make that decision for you when it really should be up to you and you alone to decide?

@Bowser448 Let's analyse your problem step-by-step:

My answer is no, and I will explain why.

I want to know how. I sincerely want to know how. I am a non-buyer who uses brutus on my main legend account and I get in the top 3 neraly every time in MM. This is probably because you have a skill issue (I'm not taunting you, man. This is a genuine guess). Maybe you miss your shots often or maybe you don't use all the characteristics of your turrets or maybe you don't play XP/BP. You might also have a ''resource management issue'', i.e you don't spend your crystals wisely.

I don't think that blaming everything on hacking is a good option. It has been quite some time since I saw someone hacking in MM. The number of people hacking has dramatically reduced.

I personally think that this is your main problem. Loneliness in this game brings an unfathomable amount of boredom. I would advise you to join tanki's official discord server, in which you can make friends with many tankers. We can even be friends. For example, I never get bored playing tanki. I always find something creative to do, whether I'm alone or I'm with friends.

Well, according to me, your frustration can be explained mainly because of your lack of friends and the fact that you don't spend your crystals. If we become friends, I will share many useful tips with you.

Train hard, become insanely skilled and I can guarantee you that people won't care about your nickname.

In short, I want to point out that your lack of friends is a big downside because you can actually spend a good time with nice friends and they can advise you in different matters. Also, quitting tanki is a bad option because there is so much to do in tanki. Nowadays anyone can participate in esports. I'm creating my own team anytime soon. Have you ever thought about participating in it? Moreover I will rank up soon and so will you. How about doing a rank up party together? I have golds.

Let's be honest.

Compared to tanki from even a couple of years ago, this version is terrible. We all know the devs don't care about what the customer wants and are just focused on ventures to squeeze as much money out of new players as possible before they get bored with the game and leave for better ones (maybe in Russia, this game is their 'fortnite', who knows?). I won't spend anything on this chaotic, turret-nerfing, bully-promoting, glitchy/laggy game.

I'm not sure why there is a forum section anyways. It's not like this place fosters a sense of fair play and kinship. We all know the issues we've had with a 'certain tanker' who insulted, provoked, bullied, and flooded the chat room for years with impunity--making the people who run the forum here look inept at their jobs. That said, there is no sense of community from what I can see.

The matchmaking 'feature' has been an issue for years. They say it's because there are fewer players that 'one or two' tanks of other ranks have to be added. I think that is another lie because they could keep the game fair by having less tanks in the arena--but they don't want to do that. So, the game isn't fair to begin with.

The people playing tanki are few.

The game doesn't care about you or what you want.

At the end of the day it's a business, and if they want to continue to run it into the ground, that is their choice.

You just need to find another game in this WORLD that, OF course you are good at, yet still contains TANKS to satisfy your gaming needs.

Whatever you decide, I support your decision.

To be honest, the decision is up to YOU, not us. I haven't been satisfied with tanki for several reasons. I am sure you can relate to them.

  1. Rigged matchmaking. Most games end up being so lopsided that it is very frustrating to play.
  2. Too many hackers. It is near impossible to play a single battle in this game without encountering at least one (often several) player(s) using some sort of bot, cheat, program, etc. to gain an unfair advantage.
  3. Shop prices are too high. If you want to buy something in this game, it costs more than an arm and a leg. It costs both arms and legs, some reproductive parts, some internal organs, and an eyeball. For instance, it costs 400 US dollars ($399.99) for a skin container!
  4. Stupid updates. There are a lot of them, but I will only list a few: Mk conversion, hovering hulls (especially hopper), removal of most lobby chat channels (Q&A, esports, game reports, etc.), and dead tank collision.
  5. The insane number of bugs and glitches that tanki has ignored for 5+ years.
  6. Containers that are advertised to have "increased" chances of dropping better items. If tanki announced in a vlog that exotic from an ultra container is 1% and that it is 10x during events, then the chance of exotic would be 10%. Everyone for a FACT knows that it ain't 10%!
  7. Certain members of administration. Won't discuss who or why because it is against the rules to do so.
  8. Misconduct of players. Whenever you tell everyone to report a hacker, you are often told to cry and spit on by the other players in the game. There is also this certain player that likes to lurk around the lobby chats and bully Bowser448, Brandorrrr, ELECTR0_DRAG0N, Madddie, BattleHealer, and several more players. He has been bullying Bowser448 since 2019 and this player still has to bully him back from 2019!
  9. Tanki development and administration ignoring all criticism about their game. No wonder tanki can't get better. They ignore all advice to fix their game.

I had a hard time quitting back when there were mission chains and you had to do one mission a day to get enough drugs to keep up with everyone else but... there aren't anymore, and challenges are rubbish now. Also I have no more friends who still play, a lot of my Russian friends became real tankers and are too busy fighting in actual tanks right now.... so I just play ( and not play ) whenever the hell I feel like it.

I don't see any reason for you to decide to quit or continue playing, you could just be like me and play as much or as little as you like.

I remember those mission chains. If you didn't complete one mission before the next server restart, it would reset I think. Miss a second day, and I think you had to start all over at week 1. That was annoying, I remember having a power outage for a few days, I was at week 4 before, and after I was able to comeback I was at week 1.

I will always stand-by the statement that the ludicrous amounts of time people invest towards TO would better off be invested towards their own personal goals and development.

What if their one and only goal is tanki?

The times you enjoyed wasting was not wasted.

Just go mind your own business if wasting time on tanki isn't something you enjoy.

@Bowser448

Should you quit? If you are asking the question then the obvious answer is yes!!

If it’s not fun and it isn’t something that will get you a girl or money then stop it unless it is some sort of charity work !!

Tanki is ok, I think people who have been here longer tend to judge it more harshly based on what they think Tanki could have been. My initial reaction was to say Tanki is not a good game anymore but on reflection I think that is a little unfair, perhaps to newer people just finding the game it probably has a lot to offer. It has been going further away from where I would have liked it to go and this account will be the last one I make is probably the fairest way of putting my opinion on the game.

Some of the language, “Tanki career” or the “investment”, seriously, Generalissimo is just an indicator that we could have become proficient at almost anything else and that “investment” can be turned off tomorrow without any warning or reason, it’s in the EULA. Not a good investment. That Turret you were maxing out is no longer what it was just because Tanki felt like it or your beast of a Hull is now getting one shot killed because someone in Tanki banged their toe and is angry at the world. So Generalissimo or maximum garage should be nothing more than a consequence of having fun playing the game and not something to be aimed for because there is nothing special waiting for you when you get there, trust me , if anything I think it is more frustrating.

It takes 100 hours (give or take, depending on the discipline and your abilities) to go from knowing nothing to knowing more than 95% of the population —enough to make you competent (not an expert), so get some real skills or abilities under your belt. Get back on Tanki when you have time to kill (not invest, just to kill).

I play on and off, sometimes more than others and I can’t say I have seen any hacks in years but the way the game is now with so many augments it is hard to keep track of what is going on, what you are being hit with or why your shots aren’t having the expected effect which could both explain your suspicions of hacking but also mask actual hacking, different but the same in a way, you still feel cheated.

Personally I don’t do friends on Tanki, don’t have any,  nothing against the folks who play on here but I just like shooting and leaving, otherwise I would friend you.

I don’t really know how it is possible to be bullied on Tanki, I presume you have them on your friends list because I couldn’t name a single player that has been on my team or an opposing team let alone be able to bully them. Low gear score or low ranks in a team isn’t the players fault, it is Tanki’s fault so let any harsh consequence go over your head. (Unless you use Scorpion then I hope you cry a little, not a lot , just a little  ) No one can bully you unless you let them, bullys and want to be bullys everywhere so work on your resilience rather then hoping people become nicer.

But good luck on whatever you decide.

"I don’t really know how it is possible to be bullied on Tanki"

When someone in the chat area repeatedly tells you to quit the game, to unalive yourself, and floods the chat with insults and provokes you into an argument every day.

That's how it is possible to be bullied on tanki.

Edited to add: Usually, with increasing bans (behaviour modification) for this type of behaviors, the bullying stops, but for whatever reason--whether the mods are unable or unwilling--they do not ban him. (Or they lie and say that they have banned him)
