Desertion function - when?

More often than not you have to play in a team that is hopeless. Tankists playing DM regardless of battle mode. Tankists driving around as though they're under the influence. Tankists playing anything but like a team. I would just love to be able to desert and switch sides - as any soldier in their right mind would if they see that they're practically cannon fodder.

I don't see why I should be giving up crystals etc. for leaving a battle, nor do I see the point in supporting a team right to the end that neither has the intention nor the capacity to win - and that was basically picked for me by the so-called MM, so the loyalty I owe to those players is a very limited one.

First and foremost, there isnt a comp/ranking system in tanki, so teams are assigned randomly taking rank into account. Second of all, tanki thankfully doesnt penalize you if you leave a match no matter what time phase it is in. Have a hard time? Just leave the match and join a new one.

While I don't think being able to simply 'switch sides' should be a thing anymore (although you can still do it in Pro Battles), I do understand the frustration that comes with having already used your supplies and batteries early on, only to realise later that your teammates are all on their laurels, happy to turn any game mode into a TDM game, just to satisfy themselves with having padded their K/D stats.    
Honestly, at this point, the best thing to do is simply wait to see the state of your team (who's willing to actually achieve the objective and who isn't) and choose to stay or leave based on that. It's no use to essentially waste a bunch of resources into a battle you have no hope of even doing well in.
The way I see it, the only thing that can salvage this situation is if they ever made the bold decision to simply remove the K/D stat from battle completely, outside of maybe TDM and DM. The fact that this it's essentially the only metric for gauging someone's impact on the battle, outside of their overall battle score, really kills the competitiveness in the game. Add to that the fact they they increased crystal rewards regardless of win or loss and what you've got is a bunch of players happy to sit back and lose any game, as long as their own pretty little K/D ratio looks attractive.

Yeah, you're better just leaving match after match after match until there is a fair one--or one that is more to your advantage.

Another  problem is even when you are in a 'fair' match, they usually add a few tanks of 2-3k higher gear score to your enemy (even if you are losing).

It kinda sucks, but tanki doesn't care what you think about this game just as long as you spend money and keep playing.

 

So, don't waste your supplies or time or energy playing in those matches.

Just leave.
