Idea to assist with balance

Obviously this will only assist with the problem of mismatched teams, not solve it entirely.

But for a start, the game should not begin (ie flags appear, etc) EVEN if the countdown is reached (or could pause the clock), until both teams have been populated with fully spawned members.

As an extension of this idea, devs might consider also pausing the ability to score even mid-match if more than a certain amount of a team is missing with this number set differently depending on the map. (it could be worked-out as a percentage, rounded up or down)

I don't think it will work. I've seen many instances where one player on the enemy team lags out and spends 2 minutes in the battle without loading in, before he's automatically kicked for inactivity. I've even seen a few cases when a player takes even longer to load in because of some glitch. It would be unfair to stop the 16-20 other people being able to play the game just because of one laggy glitched player.

I think that the drawback of extra delay times massively outweighs the benefit of starting with balanced player numbers, especially when you consider that actual power balance is iffy at best.

Interesting concept but it's not going to work.

Team members leaving is something that happens constantly, often because of how the mm balanced the two teams or after the enemy team took the score lead. Me and my friend often had to fight entire battles with 1 or even more players missing from the team, and mm simply refusing to give us someone. This problem is a lot more noticeable at night when the player count is very low.
