Better POV at fullscreen

Going from window mode to fullscreen always feels like the game get stretched up and the perspective get narrowed.

I find this very illogical. I think we should have wider perspective for fullscreen. I know this may seems unfair advantage for fullscreen. But at least it's better looking, and the default mode in playing games is fullscreen. Or at least don't make it 100% stretched. Make it fifty-fifty.

Declined

What you're suggesting doesn't really make sense.

The typical HD resolution is 1920x1080 pixels, so when your game isn't fullscreen, the playing window is compressed vertically from 1080p down to, say, 900p. So to keep the proportions the same, the game stretches its horizontal dimension to account for the narrower viewport.

When you go fullscreen, the vertical dimension goes to the normal 1080p, which results in the horizontal dimension being compressed to the new ratio. The only way to implement what you suggest would be to lock the view angle and only stretch the image to fit whatever screen is being used, but that would horribly distort the image on screens with ratios that are anything other than standard. Believe me, devs certainly spent a long time in the past deciding on the kind of FoV that's most optimal for playing.

So yes, there's an advantage to wider screens/windows, but it's not worth sacrificing quality of image (proportions) for slightly more fair gameplay.

What I have said clearly that fullscreen should have a wider perspective, so they can see more. Not stretched like the example I have given. I updated the topic example for a better one, look again.

Well after taking a closer look, I noticed the image wasn't stretched. Just the perspective get narrowed. I thought they were stretching the pixels (which is ugly, that's what I meant). But no they didn't use this cheap way. So I may suggest if they just zoom out a little for full-screen. You can make my idea INVALID now?

Zooming out could be a valid suggestion, but it's not worth implementing. Like I said in my first post, the current camera angle is a result of a lengthy process of study and optimisation. It changed multiple times over the years, sometimes for the better, sometimes for worse. The common theme that tends to happen is that whenever there's ANY change to the camera angle and the way it moves, the majority of players WILL complain, simply because the new camera is different from what they're used to, making it uncofortable to play.

So there's no point making such a minor change to solve an issue that's not even an issuse, since the main result from the change will be negative comments from players.

Invalid ideas are those that are already in the game or don't make sense at all, so I'm changing this to declined.
