Massive ping issues

Recently I tried playing Tanki and noticed that I have massive ping issues. I used to have an average ping of like 13 (since I'm connecting from Germany, no VPN). What happens now is that I either get 13ish ping but with insane ping spikes up to 2500s every couple seconds, or my ping is constantly 51, at some point 600 and it disconnects me.

I pinged tankionline.com using cmd and got an average response time of 10 ms, when pining 37.48.68.16 (read somewhere that it's the IP of Tanki's servers?) I get ~74ms. Both pinged 100 times with 0% packet loss.

What I tried to solve it: trying to play via browser, restarting the game, restarting my router, deleting any possible cache (including DNS), and reinstalling the game; nothing is working. I have no ping-related issues outside Tanki.

Is it a known issue currently, or something?

Hi, PING issue is always connected to your Wi-Fi or data you use. If it is not strong, you will have high ping which in turn will give you lags and ping spikes.  Having a strong  computer will not help with ping since its 100% the WIFI connection.

Now lets say you have a strong wifi in your house, but if too many devices are using it at the same time it can cause a little ping issue too.

Another reason could be the connection to the Tanki servers.

Also for me I have noticed that if I am downloading a huge game or uploading a video, even with strong WifI you will have ping issue in Tanki. but once its over it will come back t normal.

same issue here. the game is unplayable.

you are dead without even noticing.

 

Another issue is you cannot see your aumengts in the garage when changing. you have to wait some time untill your augments appear.

Funny thing is that one game it's fine, and the next one you join is literally unplayable. No way it's on my end, pretty sure they messed something up once again

Also, I've installed AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition - The latest version of drivers for AMD graphics cards. Maybe updating the graphics card drivers will help with issues with PING?

I also have problems.

Most matches have some issues with some tanks moving in a twitchy way, or freezing and driving endlessly in one direction, or all tanks except you doing this for a few seconds (really frustrating, when the game returns to normal you've often been killed by someone). I also have problems sometimes entering matches, the loading stops and it says "lost server connection".

The strangest yet was when my tank suddenly self-destructed without warning (I was not flipped, had not pushed the self-destruct button, and no self-destuct countdown clock appeared) and when I respawned I couldn't do damage.

I don't know if this is my computer's fault or Tanki's servers

Ping is never related to graphic card driver at all...

 

Those "fix the ping lag" things mentioned on the website are nothing but "have you tried to turn it off and on again" . Yes, it could be a players' side problem, but Tanki's potato servers also have a major contribution to that. And for the latter, there is nothing we can do.

No, unfortunately, nothing is working. It's a gamble if the ping is stable or not. Restarting the game does fix it occasionally, but I have to restart it multiple times.

That may happen when the Anti-Cheat detects suspicious movement (like clipping into objects etc). In order to make you stop, it selfs you and then makes you deal no damage. I can imagine that a bad connection could interfere with the Anti-Cheat

Today at least it seems to work better, but since this seems to be some server-sided issue anyway I doubt anyone can provide a solution, so this topic can be closed

Same issue with tanki, massive ping issues and garage takes a whole minute to load and the augments even more. Potato servers at best sigh.
