Why do tanks move on top of each other?

 Share

Question

Years ago in tanki, if two tanks were next to each other, you could use this to your advantage (especially with Wasp), to go round enemies and hit them while their turret is still turning. For example, you could push them against a wall and their turret turns too slowly for them to attack you before they can aim at you. Similar if you drive up to the side of their hull.

But now, when you drive into another tank, you just get pushed on top. Why? Is this intentional, or a bug?

I feel like ever since the game switched from Flash to HTML5, there have been all kinds of problems related to tank-to-tank interactions. Pushing became impossible as you always clip into the other tank, so blocking is also not possible. And now, with the new HD models, you can't even stay on top of someone, as you will slowly start falling into them at some point. It's ridiculous.

Hitting doubles also became very hard ever since they switched. When you shoot an opponent who is at the same height using Railgun for example, your shot doesn't go straight. It goes down a bit, as it seems that turrets aim for the center of the opponent's hull. So, as you can imagine, this makes it almost impossible to hit people who are standing in a line, as your shot lands in front of the guy who is standing behind their teammate, not hitting him. In Flash however, the shot just went straight, hitting everyone who was standing in a line. But in HTML5 it feels like 1 out of 5 shots do that. So hitting doubles is also completely broken.

To answer your question, looks like it's just ping-related, but also game-related issues as well. All we can do is hope for the devs to address these problems I guess ?‍♂️

Hey! I did (as you've probably seen) get a few answers above, but ideally I'd like an answer from the Dev team, just to be sure the answer is correct. ?

Great, although the development team don't reply to this section unfortunately.
