Request for Augments and Item Purchase Option: A Suggestion for an Enhanced User Experience

Recommended Posts

Dear Tanki Online Development Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am a dedicated and avid player of your game, Tanki Online, and I want to start by expressing my sincere appreciation for your continuous efforts in creating such an engaging and vibrant online gaming platform.

However, there's a feature in Tanki Online that many players, myself included, find could use some adjustment for an enhanced gaming experience – the availability and procurement of game items, specifically augments.

As it currently stands, the only means to obtain augments and other items is through the mechanism of luck-based containers. While this does add a degree of anticipation and unpredictability, it has increasingly felt more restrictive over time, particularly for those of us who have specific gaming strategies and preferences in mind.

Thus, I'd like to propose a new model – one that would coexist with the existing container system but would give players the option to directly purchase augments and other items as they see fit. Many games have implemented similar features, thereby allowing players to tailor their gaming experiences according to their preferences. This not only enhances player satisfaction but can potentially contribute to increased revenue streams for the game as well.

Understandably, balancing an online multiplayer game like Tanki Online is a challenge. However, introducing a feature that allows players to directly purchase specific items could be achieved in a balanced and fair manner. For instance, certain limitations could be placed on the number of purchases per player per time period, or higher-tier items could be priced accordingly to reflect their in-game power and influence.

This feature would greatly increase player agency, giving them the ability to strategize and plan out their gaming experiences better. It would alleviate the reliance on chance and add an additional layer of depth to the gameplay, encouraging players to invest more time and possibly funds into the game.

In conclusion, I believe that the ability for players to selectively purchase augments and other items would be a beneficial addition to Tanki Online. It would bring about a more user-centered gaming experience and allow players to enjoy the game in a way that suits their playing style and preferences.

Thank you for your continuous commitment to making Tanki Online better and more engaging for all players. I hope you consider this suggestion and I look forward to seeing the future developments in the game.

I fully agree with your idea and I understand your logic, but we have to view this from a practical point of view. It's no secret that the vast amount of augments (particularly status augments) exists for the purpose of saturating the container reward pool, so that players have a lower chance of getting the items they actually want. That way, players are more likely to keep buying more containers until they get the items they want.

Therefore, if you're proposing to add a way to bypass this luck-based element and buy items directly, you have to take into account the average number of containers once would have to buy to get the items. The way it usually works, such a calculation would give you a price of something like 50k tankoins for a single legendary augment. That's how much it would have to cost in order to not reduce the company's revenue from fewer people buying containers. Would you be willing to pay 50k to skip the container randomness? I very much doubt it. The devs know this too, which is why such a feature does not exist.

A good way to get specific augments is to keep an eye on special events, and you might be able to get the things you want from contests like challenges and tanki funds.

Spoiler

P.S. You don't need to ask ChatGPT to write a massive text for your idea. Two-three sentences is usually enough to convey key points. In fact, short and concise ideas usually get published faster as they take less time to process.

Imagine spending 300$ to buy 200 ultra containers, and not even getting your desired skin/augment.

I don't know how buyers accept this stupidity.

Those that are willing to spend 10x the amount just to get an XT drone. Humanity is sometimes stupider than you think.
