Here are some possible solutions for the problem:

 

If you are on the Browser version:

1.) Clear cache and cookies

2.) Disable browser extensions

3.) Try another browser

4.) Check internet connection

 

If you are using the Client version:

1.) Check if you have installed the latest upgrade of the game

2.) Clear game cache

3.) Uninstall and reinstall the client

 

Sometimes you just have to restart your P/C or just turn it off for a a few hours and try again later.

I faced a similar issue long back.

I found out its usually due bad server connection (where loading your resources was affected). This is not your fault but the server's.

Another reason is due to high ping, where your internet connection may weaken adn fail to load in resources of that specific account.

Yes. I tried Indigo's suggestion. Usually these steps work but it did not this time. Then reading what NightCity said, I just sat for a few days and kept trying every now and then. I was able to log in just now.
