Make The Report System More Advanced

Recommended Posts

Today when I was in a battle in Tanki Online, 2 of my teammates were constantly disturbing me. Their focus was not on the game, but was entirely on trying to flip my tank. This resulted in me having a really bad score at the end of the battle. And this often happens with me, and I'm sure it happens quite often with other players as well. Sure, we can report such players, but it doesn't usually work because not many players report them, only a few do, if not just one. We can also leave the battles in which such players are there, but sometimes it isn't possible to leave the battle either because you already have a good score in it, and if you leave that battle, you won't get anything out of it. So why not make the report system more advanced? By more advanced, I mean to say – update the report system such that it would be possible to report any player giving a reason or two for reporting him/her. This way, the spectators/moderators of the battles would be able to check if the reason/s for report is/are really true, and give warnings to the reported players, or directly remove them from the battle.

I request the devs to kindly implement this change into the game as soon as possible, as such players/teammates are really annoying, even more annoying than your actual enemies. They can really spoil your mood and even if you leave that battle, you wouldn't be able to play well in the next battle because of your bad mood. It's like a chain reaction.

Declined

I believe this was discused earlier and multiple reasons were given against it:

  • Players will actually be less likely to report violators, because making the report feature more complex (even if it's just one extra click) means that some players would rather tolerate the violator than deal with the extra hassle of reporting.
  • This would be hard to implement, since instead of a simple button, you now have a text input field, which makes things 10x more complicated in terms of coding.
  • It won't help the speed of moderation much, if at all. At the end of the day, the battle moderators still need to come spectate the battle and see the violation themselves. If they see the reported player actively trying to flip teammates, they don't need any text note to recognise the violation.
