Brutus not working properly

Hi, I'm an old player who recently came back. To me drones are a new thing. 

I have Brutus maxed out and a Booster one. I had Booster equipped for a while, but it was consuming too many supplies, so I equipped Brutus.

Brutus is still consuming supplies like Booster did. As I understand, Brutus isn't supposed to use supplies at all, just boost some that are active.

I'm almost out of some supplies, nothing I can think of works to make it stop. Anyone has a solution to that?

Brutus isn't supposed to not use supplies at all, it's using 1 upon activation. Drones that boost a specific stat further, for example Booster, uses 5 double damage upon activation since it's boosting damage further, but only 1 of the others.

What drones do is boost the efficiency of supplies. If you have a drone equipped that is not upgraded at all, double damage isn't actually doubling your damage, it's giving you only a 50% increase (same for the others, double armor is increasing armor only by 50%). The further you upgrade any drone, the more % you will gain, totalling out at 100% efficiency eventually.

Brutus is the simplest and cheapest drone, which only gets you to 100% efficiency for each supply. Other drones however, like Booster, give you +100% for every supply besides the one they boost further. In Booster's case it's damage, so it actually gives you +125% damage, but for that you waste 5 supplies whenever you activate double damage, instead of 1.

It is supposed to. No drone gives you free supply effects. As previously said, Brutus is an "eco" drone, you use it to save supplies. That doesn't mean supply consumption stops entirely, it just slows down (with relation to the supply consumption of other drones such as Hyperion and Booster), which helps in a net supply inflow over time.

Regardless of which supply you use while Brutus is equipped, one unit is consumed per key-press. Read the wiki for more info: https://en.tankiwiki.com/Drones

Booster drone consumes the Double Damage supply a lot, since it boosts Double Damage by 25% more and it takes 3 supplies at once afaik... 
If you wanna save supplies, you can use Brutus drone. If you have any engineer augments for your hull, then it would be more useful as it will repair your tank if you pick any supplies from the ground instantly. Hope this helps!!

i mean it's still a drone, it will consume supplies regularly. Only one supply per use unlike booster which consumes extra. idk if this is what u meant

You're getting confused with the statement made when devs made Brutus no longer use "batteries" which have been removed from the game.

No one has ever said that Brutus will no longer use supplies, but they did say back then it would no longer use batteries. (I guess you could consider them a supply too?)

If you mean that Brutus is using additional supplies of a certain type then you should record proof of it and report it.

I think I was mislead by the phrase "Does not consume extra supplies when it is activated" in the drone description. Now I do understand that it still consume supplies, just one at a time.
