What should I do if it happens again?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm just curious. I don't want to start a controversy, but I'd just like to understand a few things. I've had three bad experiences while playing the game recently, and I'd like support and information on how to proceed if one of these three things happens again:

1) Some users in the in-game chat insult or incite hatred or violence. I've reported the offending comments several times, but the response is that I get SUSPENDED or warned for SLANDER, not the user who committed the offense, but me (who consequently laughs and bullies about it). I don't like this. I'd like to know how to report the moderator on duty who misinterprets the report (or who can't read) and therefore penalizes users incorrectly or randomly, and ask that he or she be removed or penalized for the error (as per the rules). What can I do if it happens again?

2) During several important game matches, it appears I was kicked from the game without warning and without any valid reason, right when I was in first place. My question (just a hypothesis): could a moderator or an unscrupulous administrator (if he wanted to) abuse his power to kick a player to benefit himself or others in a clearly illegitimate manner? If this were to happen, is there a way to verify who did it and, if necessary, take appropriate action against him? What can I do if it happens again?

3) Yesterday, during a game match, a player on my team with an extremely powerful Hammer started shooting at all the members of our/his team, flipping them over and creating a mess. We obviously lost the match because of this user. We tried to report it, but no one intervened to kick this troublemaker. Why are interventions so slow or even non-existent? In these cases, wouldn't it be more appropriate to intervene immediately? What can I do if it happens again?

Thank you.

  1. Reporting is the right thing to do. When you say you get banned for reporting offending comments, are you sure that you only reported the messages, or did you also try responding back with insults? When you report a message, chat moderators get the full chat chat logs and every violator gets banned, regardless of who incited the conflict.
If you believe that a chat ban wasn't justified, you can appeal via this form.
  2. What kind of important game matches are you talking about? eSports?
Battle moderators have the power to remove players from matches, but it shouldn't happen. If you have a concern, you can contact @Yelevia forum PM.
  3. It's possible that battle moderators were busy at the time. You can record such violations and post on the forum for review, but reporting is the main way to deal with such situations.

Thanks  @Maf for chiming in with some advice.

1) I'm clearly aware that if I responded to insults, I'd be penalized in return... so it wouldn't make sense to report an insult when it would come back to me like a boomerang. In that case, I reported a series of insults from a player (probably an infant) because, unable to hit me but I was able to hit him, he was trying to emotionally destabilize me with "insults and taunts" so that I would make some maneuvering error... (impossible, given that for me, the game is about tactics; I've been a fan of online tanki online for years. For me, the game isn't just a barrage of gunfire like for other users; for me, the game is also about intelligence, team play  and strategy.) Unfortunately, many users don't see this that way. I don't normally respond to insults (except in exceptional cases).

2)I wasn't talking about eSports—perhaps I expressed myself poorly. I was referring to important matches, in the sense that in those regular games I was playing with some very capable opponents and friends, who I rarely find all online together like those times. The prize pool in those games was high for me, both in terms of winnings and gaming pride. That's why I called them "important." If I ever find this happening again, I'll do as you wrote and contact @Yele, providing all the supporting evidence I can gather.

3)Correct me if I misunderstood: if this happens again, do you recommend I post video captures and screenshots of the violations and the offender and make them public? Or should I send this material privately?
