The impact of community vibe on new, returning, and active players

This might be a bit of a hot take, but I feel like it’s worth saying.

As a returning player from 2012 who recently came back on a fresh account, something stood out to me immediately:

A lot of the first impression of Tanki Online doesn’t come from the game itself… it comes from community content.

And lately, a big portion of what I’ve seen (videos, match commentary, discussions) tends to lean heavily into negativity — frustration with updates, complaining about gameplay, or focusing only on bad moments.

I’m not saying criticism is wrong. Every game needs feedback to improve. But the issue is when that becomes the main tone new and returning players are exposed to.

Because let’s be real:
Most returning players don’t come back blind — they check videos first.
New players don’t stay blind either — they look up gameplay before committing time.

So when the first thing they consistently see is negativity, it starts shaping their expectation of the game before they even fully experience it themselves.

And that made me wonder:

Are we unintentionally making the game feel worse than it actually is just through the way we talk about it?

Not blaming anyone — just something I noticed and wanted to put out there.

Curious what others think.

see sir what I found was that it's not so much we have negative comments . But what it is , is that we have played the game for so long with good and bad up dates. Over time we need to take a break and refocus on the game and how it's meant to be played .

Most players do  get too involved in the battles that they loose focus on the game.  Having  comments do help the DM's at times and then if we all say the same thing they end up ignoring some posts.

For me I have been sort of taking a break from posting and playing the games , it has nothing to do with the game .
