2.0 friendly fire

Generally speaking, I don't understand the sense of friendly fire games, honestly. :mrgreen: I'm Sorry, but I don't. Obviously, I don't play much, but f-fire battles/games are as old as the gaming industry ). I mean, what's the purpose here? To make a battle more exciting because you can also kill your team mates if you're shooting like "pro" therefore leading to a much more quicker defeat/victory? Or maybe to give some people the chance to kill the weakest player in their team at some point, out of personal frustration? Or maybe it's just for mass-slaughter party ?

It's not an irony, it's a honest question. I'm just curious about the possible answers. Maybe some hard-core gamers can enlighten me about this :)

P.S.

I'm not disagreeing with dingus here. Those are the game rules by my knowledge.

I hate F fire games.Some people kill me on purpose.They think that they get points.And they kill me if I have the flag and capturing it.They kill me,get the flag,capture it and get points themselves. :evil:

@fsdfsdf

so called "friendly fire" is only for realism in games to discourage noob plays from say shooting a rocket at an enemy while said enemy is close to an ally however those games penalize such actions in points by adding deaths with out kills which unevens overall ratio. however tanki has no such ratio there fore killing a teammate can only be discouraged if the action causes the team to lose eventually. kill teamates dose no harm on tanki score, maybe it will hurt reputation something or in 2.0 it will.

i dont like friendly fire being abused but i feel that if thier are 3 tanks in a closed area and say 2 are enemies and 1 is ally if thunder fires at them all should be hit even the melee ally as it would be realistically. otherwise you cold have thuder blasting a corridor and a hornet drive right through i know its a game but if friendly fire wasnt abused it would evolve some strategy in game.

Realism. Got it. I can understand that although sometimes it's practically an invitation to abuse. While realism could be a strong point for f-fire games, it could also reveal the personality of a player. Meaning that some might stick to the "we loose together" line while others might turn against their weakest players saying "at least we get to kill the one/ones who caused this" ). Of course, there is a more refined kind of players who choose to turn against their team for some reason at some point in the battle by shooting them in such a way that it can be proven, like shooting in the crowd but aiming at team mates and pretending to shoot at the enemy. It's hard to prove that they are not actually fighting for their own team especially when they choose to do this only at crucial moments in battles.

Thx for the info king_beast88 :thumbup:

I see a friendly fire game, i dont join it. Tired of my teamates killing me on "accident" so they can take the flag and capture it or even to steal MY KILL!

Actually, stealing a kill goes to "Strategy" category in my opinion. I do it and many players (all) do it. That's why we are here, isn't it?. If players were shooting methodically only at "fresh", respawned enemies it would be madness, don't you think so? )). It's kill or be killed, it's the way games usually work). You would be surprised to know that killing a team mate in a f-fire game can also be a good strategy. For example, there are situations where a flag carrier has almost no life and he needs to get to his base to capture it. Killing a team mate in the way of the enemy who's breathing down his neck can actually gain him a few precious seconds to capture the flag while the follower shoots the destroyed chassis of his team mate.

However, killing a team mate with the only purpose to take his flag is not a strategy, it's simply greed. )

@cablaz i agree i don't play friendly fire games someone always wants to shoot you out of frustration or self ignorance :lol: i only played in one that didnt that says something...

@fsdfsdf so true but the norm of stealkilling is a rail taking a shot at a tank that been hit by freeze for a few secs or a twins player blasting away atvsomeone being attacked by isdia their is no point in killing a teamate to steal his kill it is likely want survive the match once he turns on you every respawn :twisted: killing a flagger? most flaggers i know pass the flag if thier health is low and actally see you, "except greedy players" they still get points anyway. although time may arise when ignorant teamate has a hornet after him and you're closer atm so you kill him so hornet cant take the flag from him back because he has low health i could see that as strategy.

The biggest problem of friendly fire is the pro fire+ freezes who are so used to shooting through teammates (and taking cover behind them in the process) that they forget that friendly fire is on!
