i use m2 thunder and m2 hornet and must say that i do better then m3 rails do in the same game, railgun is good, esp if all the enemy tanks can be taken down in 2 shots, but as soon as it takes 3 shots or more railgun becomes less useful. in tribute (my fav map), a great railgun is better then a bad thunder but a normal railgun is worse then a bad thunder

The only weakness he claimed was the price and damage. IF that is the only disadvantage of Thunder, I will take it. Better than waiting 6 seconds for your railgun to reload while someone is coming at you and the 1.1 seconds to get off a shot. Most of the time, rail is dead before shot #2 in that situation.

totally biased. you didn't say anything about railgun's bad reload, terrible turn speed, or inferior damage per minute. You only said railgun's strengths and thunders weakness.

hehe, it doesn't hurt at long range. :P

not true, thunder always hurts

yu dont winn in other team kool, its advantage of terrain, camp is bad map!

thunders hurt a lot, it hurts so mutch then when i slam my m2 viking in your m3 viking yu die first

me with m3 twins and yu with m3 thunder, damage is incredible but for the rest thudner is weak...

reloade is so fast peopel dont bother hiding or hide too long.

and other problem is that the gunn is too shoirt too snipe with, yu cant folo the path of your shot.

the bonus is that the isida behind the enemy gets hurt too...

for the rest i say rail, for sniping, tdm or just taking revenge rail will always do it..

for example: i killed a m3 mamouth with m3 thunder with rustle marshals 3 times

with my m2 viking with m3 rail and holiday paint;)

thunder only winns in open terrasin where the rail is not too be spotted;)

but overall, thunder lozes from freeze and richo..

my advise (when your no mod or dev with infinite cash) get rail and shoo them

The railgun is for professional snipers .. only ..

if you just For a single shot very powerful .. the railgun is The best option for you

and there is some Cases in the game , like :

That there was someone steal our flag and escape with all speed

In this case, nothing will help you ..

more then that [ railgun ] ( especially if you have Double power )

in addition to that, [ railgun ] is much cheaper than thunder

And finally , That if you fired one near you .. you will take a littel Damage

[ railgun ] is the best for [ sniper’s ]..

Im a professional sniper

I can snipe ppl in quick pace

Yesterday i sniped 2 higher ranked tanks, that had viking and i killed both of them in 1 shot.

p.s i got m1 rail!

There are a whole host of instances that would dictate you killing two Vikings, the easiest (and probably the actual) reason is that they were already 3/4's to 2/3's dead to begin with.

Most people in this conversation with a high rank all own M3 Rail, and are more than proficient with using it. To put it in your terms they are "Pro Snipers" and I would even venture to say they are probably better than you with Rail. They also own at least an M2 Thunder, most own M3's.

If you haven't used both weapons at an Equal Modification, I am not even sure why you are even in the conversation. How could you be without ever having had the experience of both Turrets?

So it is pretty much unanimous, the people with M3 rail and M2 or M3 Thunder all agree that Thunder is the better weapon. Pretty much case closed on which is more powerful.

Now, if you can't figure out to how to use Thunder, well then stick with Rail. Most of the time (If you are not in camping mode) Thunder requires a little more brain power than:

1. Target,

2. Come out from behind cover

3. Shoot,

4. Run for cover,

5. Repeat

rail is a little more;)

to shoot someone who is on the otherside of stadium is cool. but also verry hard...

rail is a verry difficult weapon to use, u only have 1 chanse of hitting them, they can see yu charge and runn(this looks verry funny) but when yu miss yur basically dead..

rail is about fast thinking and moving, yu see them comming, fire, aim, get out of their in 1 second

thunder has way more chanses and often peopel with thunder play hide and seek since rails take am out easaly

in silence the thunders runn when they see a rail, but without cover thunder beats rail.

thunder and rail are both for sniping, their worst enemy: richo's

so i am still pro railgunn, shooting through the drugger to kill the isida

Whatever you say Wafje.

I don't find shooting someone on the other side of Stadium all that difficult. Just line them up with the front of your barrel and the red dot on your turret. Pretty simple really.

If you shoot and miss, at something coming at you run like hell and stay far enough away to pop off a second shot. It will take you 7.9 seconds of running.

If you are shooting through the drugger to get to the isidia, then I wouldn't necessarily call that pro. Most people will change the angle and shoot directly at the isidia to ensure it is dead rather than letting a shielded unit take a brunt of the damage and only deliver a small amount of damage on isidia.

Rail is a fairly simple gun, you line it up and shoot, hide during reload, repeat.

rail eassy, pfff

yu dont know what yur talking about

taking a m3 thudner down with an m3 rail is no problem but as i said, when yu miss yur dead

and aiming right is pritty hard, tanks driving in to yu, tanks shooting at yu, enemy starts too runn, !!lagg!!, buildings that have a protective cover over them: when yu shoot just around the edge it sais its in the wall...

and ofcourse the kill evrythingmode: drugged rail is unbeatable.

i still prefer rail, its challenging and anti noob 8)

Then maybe you aren't doing it right. Follow my 5 easy steps along with my targeting method and you will do just fine.

My recommendation is to start shooting the rail BEFORE you come out from behind your cover so you can spend less than a second shooting the enemy. But hey, that's just me want to get back in my hiding spot so I can wait for reload as quickly as possible.

If a tank drives into, drive into it, then hit reverse and fire. You will hit your target. If they get that close though, you probably already screwed up. It is a long range weapon and it is best to treat it as such.

be carefull with that, yur making it sound easyer than it is here, that only works in close range combat with no structures in the way.., rail is long range combad, if yu want to fight close range yu die with rail and thunder :?

Just like eessydo said, once you get good with Thunder you don't have to work on aim that much. 99% of the time you'll be on target and the remaining 1% will be missed because of the enemy. ;)

The thing is, Aim before leaving your cover that saves you a lot of time. As a Thunder and Railgun camper I've taken out a lot of people who aim after leaving their cover.

According to the "Tanks and Weapon specs" thread and my personal experience, Thunder's damage is 50% at a range of over 120m ;) Add that to the 30% Prodigi protection and you'll be really shocked by the results.
