Moderating Rules

 Share

Recommended Posts

Before I get started I am not here to question the moderators/admins. This post is just a suggestion to help clarify the warn/ban process, for the benefit of both members and Mods.

At the moment it seems that there are inconsistencies regarding the way that some members are banned for breaking the rules. Some get bans for an hour, whilst others get banned for a day, for breaking the same rules.

My suggestion is that there should be a set of guidlines that are adhered to.

For example: (these are examples)

For spamming:

First offence - warning.

Second offence - 5 min ban.

Third offence - 1 hour

(etc)

For profanity:

First offence - 5 min ban.

Second offence - 1 hour

Third offence - 1 day ban

(etc)

Obviously these rules could be applied, and laid out for all violations of rules.

The benefits for members are that instead of getting a warning and a link to the rules, the member would get a link to the set of guidlines - making it clear what the penalty for further violation of the rules would be. This would also make the job of the Moderator a lot easier, and would avoid any accusation of inconsiderate moderating.

I am sure that if repeated offenders knew that they were one violation away from a week or even a month ban, they would think twice about breaking the rules.

I think this change would benefit all, both moderators and members and would provide transparency and accountability for all.

Any thing about offences against ladies and children here? Or will you be adding that soon?

We can all use our head , and rules are here for all , we dont need new guidelines .

Talk with Your Friends about the honest way in game , not presents or offers .

i don't think telling a player one more profain laced word and you're banned for week will stop them. immature players never learn.

also all mods don't now how long someone else got banned for the samething or maybe somemods just are tired of these blatant rule breakers.

noble topic but only more mods cold help imop.

point is, immature or otherwise, there would be no argument. as for the mods, there is a list of bans/warnings for every member that the mods can see right away.

ah i was unaware of that.

imop the harshest punishment should be handed to those that bash players and crurse on the chat or in battle that would stop that out right as for those that flood well it depends.

and i think krakoviensis meant people can think for themselves theydo have a brain. i don't know if he translated that to post or what no offense to him meant if he did translate to english.

Well the ban should be suited to the violation, some violations are harder than other.

Like Jarek pointed out, women and children play this game, they deserve a clean chat and game.

There wouln't be a need for moderators if everyone would follow known rules of social life.

There is no point in using foul and bad language.

some of those repeat offenders should be banned for longer time period that purposely continually curse and ignore the warnings and bans.

not 3rd or 4th offense becase maybe they will learn not to do it but if it is continual by them than yes ban them for longer we don't need them imop

i totally agree with this. however there is no need to be ageist or sexist, we should all be able to experience a prejudiced free playing environment. howeer i dont see what this point has to do with the suggestion i have put forward; is it that difficult to comprehend?

How do you want to add ban's and warnings, 1time Flood is equal as 1 time insult???

There are rules now and of course are there always different bans because of different mod's, different situation and different player history.

You can't stick too close to fixed rules sometimes, you need space for adjustments.
