BTW, smoky is very powerful against rail - you must wait for a white sparkling point of shooting rail and SHOT! Then you surely bit the fire by failing enemy's sight! :)

Another powerful gun against rails is freeze, but it can used only on short distance.

sometimes the sides of the rail gun bea, hit u and BAM! u die. sometimes heavy armor wont shift

I have experience with smoky, and my tactic is to ram into titans or dictators, when you play them. this often works if you have a faster tank, but sometimes it won't work, and you will easily die. another tactic, like said above, is to shoot railguns off target while they are loading. Also,( and this is useful for all weapons) ram into a tank's side, and shoot, and often the player you are attacking will have to Z/X and that often takes time with beginners in tanki. this gets you a huge advantage before he starts shooting you.

Smoky is awesome!!!! If you are skilled, it can totally own. Hitting people off target is really helpful, and is quite simple, once you get the hang of it. I reccomend u to stick with smoky.

Smoky is not good, but it is annoying. Especially in Combe. My team was winning, then a smoky joined (m3 smoky) It was so hard to get the flag because smoky keeps shootin me. He didn't kill me, but by the time i went to the other base, this m3 twins shot me like only 3 times, and i i died. My K/D ratio went from around 0.82 (i was using m1 isida), all the way down to around 0.40. Smoky K/D was only 0.67, but he was very annoying.

Smoky is not good at Sergeant Major+ but is brilliant beforehand. You are right that smoky is annoying, but at higher ranks, it doesn't get the kills.

There is nothing wrong with Smokey early on. In upper ranks it doesn't fair very well, but you are fine using it. Nobody will consider you to be a Noob, especially if you use it like Mehdadoo did in the Tutorial thread posted by Koolwalky.

 

M3 Smokey is the quickest upgrade path with a tier 1 weapon, and if you horde crystals after you purchase the M3 Smokey you may just get a tier 2 weapon before all of your peers.

If you can get cash fast, get smoky and level it up when you rank up (m3 at staff sergeant preferably). I saw my brother hogree do this, and, for a while, until first sergeant, he epicly owned. If you have smoky m3 it will bring you more cash and that will give you enough to get a higher m railgun/isida/straight to tier two.
