HACKER reporting tips

Learned a few things today from moderators and the best way to report Hackers. Once learning of a hacker you should do the following

 

 

1. Make sure you have screenshots of a) The hacker in the act b)Proof of name

 

If they are Invisible or underground it will require at least 2 screenshots as you will not be able to see there names while they are in the act of shooting at you or grabbing the flag.

 

I would recommend you install a quick capture tool that captures images in flash in your browser preference of choice that can grab more than one image, along with some quick editing functions of the photo, and quick upload.

 

 

2. Go to SERVER 1 as there is usually always a moderator on that channel and report BOTH the game link AND the name of the person HACKING. It makes it much easier for the Mod.

 

3. If the MOD can't go into the game due to lack of slots available, quickly process your screenshots and Post the links so the mod can view the evidence.

 

 

It is always better if you can have both pieces of evidence as sometimes Mods can't get in a game and have their own visual proof.

dont go hunter for the already stressed out mods;)

post it in a forum, their a dozen about hacking already...

 

mods wont always help on short notice but in the long runn the player gets banned, he might winn a few games befor that though...

Actually they seem quite happy to help and they don't seem to mind it at all.

We don't mind it when we are told about the hackers. That's what we are here for.

 

Most of the time, moderators need visual proof so, I'd suggest something like FastStone capture or Jetscreenshot to take the screenshots.

 

In this matter, I'll prefer JetScreenshot as it automatically uploads the picture to it's server and copies the link to the clip board for you. So, the image is just one Ctrl + V away :P

i am tired about this . Silence map , over 700 cristals involved and a cheater appear , captured 10 flags in 5 minutes and win the map . why bother to use "drugs" and play for 30 minutes so i can see someone actually stealing the crystals ? i already posted 2-3 times with pictures but i see more and more cheaters ( even in large maps ) and they appear on maps with lots of crystals .

whit hunting stressed mods i mean sending pm, finding them on server, posting on forum..

simpually just keep calling for mods during the remaning 500 minits in the hacked map...

 

does JetScreenshot also cover drugs, crystals and taskbars?

You can decrease your in-game screen size by the minus (-) key and take screenshot of a selected area. That way not even your username will be seen in the screenshot.

Havent played for a while, out of 6 silence CTF matches I played in last 2 days, 2 of them had cheaters, winning the game in minutes. You cannot rely on reporting this, you will have an epidemic if you do not come up with cheater prevention fix for the game. If the player moves underground, you can detect that in the code and remove him - how hard can it be? Not sure about invisibility...
