Interactive showcases of Tanki Online 2.0 on Alternativa3D 8 with Molehill support

At the E3 2011 conference in LA, Alternativa Platform used two interactive Tanki Online 2.0 showcases to demonstrate possibilities of Alternativa3D technology. These showcases are build on Alternativa3D 8 engine with Molehill 3D API support. They show the level of graphics in browser-based projects and social network applications which is reachable already today.

Now everybody can check these demos himself. Meet “Tanki Online 2.0 — Arena” and “Tanki Online 2.0 — Crash”.

NB: don’t forget to download beta-version of Flash Player 11.

It seems great! And I'm really surprised that Arena runs fast in my computer (it really sucks). I hope Crash also runs fast too. :D

Tanki Online 2 will be great, I'm sure. :-o

Engine seems very solid to me, you don't need a high end GPU to run 150k polys. This however is a presentation, they will surely optimize maps better so it will not require 150 MB for a map.

I am loving how smooth it works, compared to reducing window in 1.0 to have a decent frame rate. I especially love those little wheels and tracks turning, that is done awesomly.

SLOW DOWNLOAD. very slow, trees grow faster than this thing.

also controls are not very responsive.

Hope they don't kill the <>/ turret control keys in 2.0, I would be more than slightly angry. Of course, that is probably a year or most likely three years away, so I shouldn't get too aggravated.

Is it just me, or is there a scale issue here? Wasp is 3 times the size of a car and about the same size as the wrecked train. Looks silly.

With the fire on the buildings, it raises new ideas for me! Like, when you shoot firebird at a wall, for 2-3 seconds after you stop shooting there, it's still burning! Or something similar with ice growing when you use freeze. Or "plasma" left over when you use twins! Or some random debris flying after you hit a wall with thunder! Endless possibilities!

Will we need flash player 11 to run tanki 2.0?

Depends on the release date. It is not officially announced yet. FP11 is planned by Adobe for 2012, so if there gonna be no Tanki by the end of December 2011, than probably yes.
