Let's discuss the Shaft gun!

September 22 Update

- Shaft gun re-balancing was finished. Previous version of the gun was confiscated from all players who bought it and spent crystals were repaid Discuss

In new version of the gun we:

-- simplified control;

-- added possibility to shoot without using scope;

-- added possibility to stay in sniper mode as long as you want with fully charged gun;

-- removed black filling in scope mode;

-- visually enhanced the scope;

-- changed boxes and flags displaying in scope mode — now they become semi-transparent to simplify aiming.

 

Lets discuss....

actually just today i bought shaft and i don't know the older one but this one is awesome, fully charged shot is deadly but it need long range battles not close combat

am happy with it but i need a little training :)

The old shaft was too over powered , m2 shaft killed mammoth m3 with 1 shot -.- so they would have to make a new tank that does not die in one shot , like with 300 hp

I think shaft is still overpowered, so many maps are even impossible to play anymore, since one hit = one kill in most cases. And when you have couple of shafts in one team, damage combined is just too much...

 

I mean, m3 shaft can produce zoom damage which is more than double than what m3 rail can inflict! It's too much! I understand that's an expensive weapon, users that buy it should have some compensation for crystals spent but they shouldn't have a weapon that powerful, which can potentially spoil the game for everyone. Developers should either lower the force of zoom hit, or make paints that shield 50% or more from shaft... so far we only have 3 paints that shield from shaft, and all of them are too price-y for what they offer.

recently russian tournament Tanki Online Fighting - Golden Tandem come to an end.

can you imagine player who played with shaft throughout whole championship to the final? I did :mrgreen:

 

so sad we didn't managed to win last fight. 2-3. maaaaaaaaaan its a pain :cry:

That's not the point... besides, Jade is quite expensive and most players just can't afford it.

 

 

Here is another idea: a player shouldn't hold zoom for infinite amount of time - I would limit it for 3-5 seconds, not to be on "on" forever - because of that we are all sitting ducks for him to pick at will.
