Shaft Guide.

Ok, from my experience, the shaft is a great gun for sniping in large maps while hiding in a closed place! Other than that, it is very difficult. to load the gun you have to hit the space bar and keep on holding it until it hits the minimum required charge. Make shore you do not exceed the maximum of the charge bar because then it may not fire. to aim when you are scoping you can aim by using the arrow keys. A great spot to use the shaft in the new silence is on the blue team near the tunnel behind the building and the bridge to the top of the map using that small space to aim through and then just keep on constiantley loading the gun and releasing when someone from the red team comes up the bridge to the platform level you are on (hint, aim for the isdas!). please help me with pictures, and other tips so I can add them too!

very good tips from my deer friend R3APER!, thxz for helping on the guide!

"Some tips (and btw this is NOT a thread to criticize, its to post helpful hints and tips, if you want to criticize go to the main thread, thanks)

-SNIPING SPOTS SNIPING SPOT SNIPING SPOTS! I cannot emphasize the importance of finding a GOOD sniping spot (should be OBVIOUS) but with the amount of people saying that they are getting low kd ratios, apparently they aren't because they keep getting killed)

-always keep your gun partly charged up. as in, alternate between tapping ur space bar and letting it go BEFORE it reaches the blue line, tap-let go-tap-let go so that it is easier to charge up when there is an enemy in sight.

-as to the shaking, thats normal, just deal with it, its not too hard to keep it centered, and if you can't control it then....maybe you shouldn't be sniping?

-the angle at which u fire is also important. against other snipers, aiming for their body can throw off their shots, especially if they are aiming at you. it can also deflect the shots of enemies trying to shoot your teammates, but I only expect pro snipers to be able to tell who's shooting who.

-ALWAYS kill the isida first. i don't remember who said it, but "an enemy without his medic is an enemy quickly dead" theyre usually in hornets so OHKO's always work against them.

-and as always, use your head! don't go out in the open, ur a sitting duck. you can't capture flags unless its a small game (in which u shud NOT be there since its SMALL), you can't engage melee targets (isida, freeze, flames) unless from far away. if they do come, hiding will usually protect you, unless they are in a weaker tank, in which a charged shot should be able to take them out.

finally, if it's not your style, don't use it! I hate seeing noobs that don't know how to fire just run around not doing anything, not helping the team or being easy kills (especially annoying if it's a deathmatch). HAVE FUN with the weapon, its a different playing style that suits some people and not others, but if you can master the shaft, it is a rewarding sniping experience that doesn't come close to what the rail has to offer!"

koolwalky is true in this:"It just basically revolves around a single spot rather than what some other games have. And yes the sniper barrel in the modern games does move because of the human breathing and in tanks it moves because of the sensitive controls."

skitee's insight:"-Use railgun skills to shoot.

-Make sure you anticipate your target's movements.

-Don't panic.

-Don't get put off.

-Don't randomly wave about when someone is shooting you but stick with your target.

-Try to anticipate your shaft gun's small movements.

-If the game you are in isn't working for shaft don't try to get it to work. Just switch battle.

-Don't consider yourself underpowered."

Also, a very useful tip that i did not notice previously from my friend R3APER again! "I guess you have to use your own judgement, I find that sniping spots are best behind bushes or trees, because you can see THROUGH them with the scope! Not sure if anyone else noticed that or not but enemies can't see you as well. And also, even if you can't charge fully, if they are about to exit your line of fire, shoot them, because often times they've already been shot by someone else, and shaft is GREAT for stealing kills hahahahha, you never know!"

I'm using M3 Shaft at the moment and I'll say that Railguns are a problem if they lock on you before you see them, other than that 100% of the time they missed me because I was able to see them before they aimed. Hornets can be annoying if they get close and other shafts can be a problem to deal with if they are one or maybe more upgrades ahead of you. Apart from that I took out M3 Shafts pretty easily by the basic sniping skills of Railgun.

kool, we dont all get the crystals too but m3;)

and m1 version gets shot by rails and thunders.

it most maps they come from your back

so for evry shaft yu ened at least a isida, rail and richo/ freeze too keep it alive :?

and have yu guys ever seen a sniper riffle move so mmuch when its charging, cause i havn't but when it fires then your supposed to slide at least 1 meter back but nothing happends.

and i cant even snipe on mid range with this movement, rails get yu easy, thunders are your dead.

teammates driving in too you, i have tryed but i cant find annything possitive about shaft :!:

The movement while charging never bothered me O_O as it just basically revolves around a single spot rather than what some other games have. And yes the sniper barrel in the modern games does move because of the human breathing and in tanks it moves because of the sensitive controls. -.-"

Stop criticizing!

At the moment im using m1 shaft and its pretty good...

Its not that bad for silence anymore..

All the newbs have it and its super easy to kill them... Its awesome for new silence red team... And Okay for blue team...

The only problem i have is points...

I get 5 points for each kill... And my rank is in the 20000s shaft users should get a little boost like isida...

As said before, Shaft is pure sniper weapon. Not earning crystalz, doesnt help winning battles... as now the team with more shaft in loses.

If u are using shaft, hope your team is strong enough/enemies are noobs

Personally, shafts are the most overrated and powerless weapons in all of tanki. To prove this, I went in stadium against a ton of brigadiers and such with shafts using a smoky. I just drive up to them and shoot them. I see the turret slowly coming to me, then I just drive a little to the side. I get a ton of xp for destroying such a high rated player, and I don't even get hurt.

SNIPING SPOTS found, in osa, berlin and lost temple.

anny idea's of how to improve that?, shooting on haf power wont work because they shoot back :?

^My hit rate is already about 75% when there is an enemy, using m0 shaft. Things I find help are:

-Use railgun skills to shoot.

-Make sure you anticipate your target's movements.

-Don't panic.

-Don't get put off.

-Don't randomly wave about when someone is shooting you but stick with your target.

-Try to anticipate your shaft gun's small movements.

-Make sure your not too far away from your target.

-If the game you are in isn't working for shaft don't try to get it to work. Just switch battle.

-Don't consider yourself underpowered.

-Make sure your not too far away from your target.

Hmm, perhaps that defeats the purposes of shaft? And anyway no one can have a 100% hit-rate, its not possible hahahaha, but being too close also has its own dangers (especially since twins are really annoying if they shoot you.

Exactly, thats one of the best tips i've heard yet!

-Don't consider yourself underpowered.

Yeah, don't underestimate yourself, it makes time and practice to become proficient, because it is different from any other weapon on tanki, so don't get discouraged. But the main thing is having fun! If you are consistently missing, and it makes your game experience worse, than by all means, go back to the weapon you are best with. It's not worth it to spend too much time on a weapon you don't like or are good enough with.

Yeah, I'm more thinking of a 120-150 metre range. Not close, but not too far.

yayaya, thats good, too far and the target gets too small, tho if ur good then u can hit it (im ok hahah) while the shaking is part of the gun, i would like if it was removed (hey who cares if its OP ;) ) hahahaha

well, as manny others i can shoot with shaft now, but it is 50% chanse that i hit yu in camp on half powero;0

but i still dont get shaft.., i see the entire team moving forward, getting the flag and they always get killed out of my vieuw,

even in lost temple yu have partally vieuw :?

sniping still wont work, targets i cant take out with my rail cause of range i cant take out with shaft...

in fact: rail kill me from distances where i cant get a clear shot.(they can move while i 'sit duck')

annytips against the moving of your gunn?, i recorded various shots and it does not move random, their is a order in it ..

and i can make tanks flip over but what to do when they spot yu?

in maps like temple yu cant runn, nowhere too hide from those thunders. so whats left too do?!?

also shaft vs shaft, runn, hide, reposition, juse baith?

shaft it a complex weapon, other than normal weapons the tricks and tips for battles dont work for shaft, yu have to rediscover evrything again

and i have too say, railgunn and thunder moves i sometimes make with shaft cause it goes automaticly.

the bushes work but dont make sight better, afther yu have fired they all know your location, so what do yu do?, move, runn, srug and kill em?!? :?

wafje, get more stable hands. I hear you can get them for free if you get yours cut by an accident or something.

I've been playing in Scope and Stadium and I use the same sniping spot always and stay there for several minutes without moving. I only move if another Shaft locks on me.
