Hey guys! My birthday is coming up and I am going to buy myself (with donations from friends and family) a laptop!

I have about 200 dollars saved up currently. Now lets say I get about 40 from my grandparents and 20 from my friends, and about 40 from my parents. That gives me about 300 dollars.

I am looking for a laptop made before 2008, used or new. I'm looking for windows and not anything Mac or Toshiba. Could anyone suggest a good laptop for me with a good amount of memory?

Netbooks are small but they have a good sized keyboard and a smooth operating system. (Windows XP, I think?)

 

My older sister, who is going to college has one and it works great for her! She got hers in 2008, and I think that the model was made a few years before that.

Thanks, I found it for 300 and bookmarked it, but I need to find the date it came out to be sure. (I'm trying to run some old games that are now obsolete.)

Ebay is pretty good for cheap PCs. I'd use that if I were looking for them now.

 

Try buying the PC and the OS seperately, it saves money....

If they run on CD-ROM's, you can forget about the netbook, I don't think it has a place to insert a disk. (A USB connected one may work, though.)

I know they don't has cd drives, but I do have one I can plug in, and if it doesn't work, I send it back.

Everything to run tanki 2.0 lol, but I can download that. It must be able to run games from around the year 2000. (most of my cds are from that year and my other computers are too new to use them.) A nice memory so I can put some movies my friends and I make together. Hmmm, not much else, everything I need for school I can get on the school's website. This computer will be mostly just for fun lol. So that is what I am pretty much looking for.

I just gota computer for my birthday, I am using it now and I love it! It's a Dell Inspiron. The only thing is that my goal was to run an old game on it, it doesn't work on this one though! :( It is heavily scratched so maybe I should get another from Amazon or Ebay...
