1. It's just a drawing, there are an uncountable number of columns :P

2. There is a reason why the long block at the left is not multiple blocks, it has been elongated and shaded to simulate connection to the top block, but is actually seems to be edited in.

3. your cones/rods get used to the light filtering in, and therefore block out the gray area (did you know there's a blind spot that you can't see, but your brain just fills it in with information)

4. perfect circles, the patterning of the line makes it seem curved, but eliminate the lines and you see the truth

5.the foremost frame is cut away. those are gaps in the frame, look from a different angle and the illusions is eliminated.
