Bugs, Bugs, and now Bugs with reporting Bugs

Well, I wont bother with ALL the bugs lately, but beside horrible lag, and all the other bugs, here is a new one on me. I was playing a ctf map that was not registering crystals after I got them. I got like 6 crystals before I noticed it was not counting them. The game was not lagging or frozen either! Then I left and joined another game and after entering for a second , I got an error message saying "fatal error" and please send bug report. So I hit the bug report button, and get the following message: you cannot send bug reports... blah blah blah... great! The game has gotten really buggy lately, and now it seems like the bug reporting tool is buggy!

 

 

PS - I think it says something about the development team when a sticky thread was set up to report and discuss bugs under the title "Attention! If you have any problems - write here" and it gets locked and we are told to pm or email bugs. It's almost like they don't want people to see how many bugs there are! Why should we have to privately send bugs rather than publicly post them? That is what FORUMS are FOR! Are we supposed to just deal with, and hide bugs and problems now? Even better that they do this to the few English speaking members who can't discuss things on the Russian threads. :( :evil: :( :evil: :(

Yep dude.this game is kinda stupid.I am always stuck.i fire and fire oppnents but they keep frozen in the same place.Then i clicked bug report.And what do i have to do with that payment section? so i always have to write the bug here and that's impossible!i cant write bugs everywhere, can you? so we need better Moderators....... well i want to be a tester so that i can send bug reports free can i? :oops:

You were clearly told to PM Support and not post in the topic with any bugs that you've found. With 200000+ registrations and about a 1000 bug reports a day it became very hard to pick real bugs out of a pile of reports that say 'i've flipped my tank, what do I do' and 'please give me more money'.

Do not complain, it's a part of the process that's vital to the game development. Nearly all the performance bugs have been issued by now, and only new and real bugs should be reported via PMs. But with all this, the game community management is expected to clearly explain what this change of bug reporting policy is all about. These are just some misunderstandings happened, and i want the members of the best massively multi-player online flash game ever to support and stick with the project.

I couldn't agree more! Well said. Let me add I also feel Raaish's frustration with problems seemingly going on without being addressed. Forums are usually the main tool a community has to be kept informed of bugs, discuss them, come up with suggestions etc. It is also a way for developers and game management to keep players informed of status of various bugs, updates etc. That doesnt happen very often here it seems. People obviously have problems with this game, as much as we like it, it is unreliable. Players take time to post their experiences and look for help and understanding. They want to know they are not the only ones, and want to know something is being done about it.

Umm, not true at all.

 

If by "you" you mean the community at large, your wrong. Statements like this really irritate people I think.

Let me explain:

1) A sticky thread at the top that read: "Subject: Re:Attention! If you have any problems - write here" was posted by Mikhail Gofman

2) people start posting bugs

3) a post made to "PM support" rather than posting bugs in a thread that was created so we could post bugs and problems. :roll:

4) The thread was then locked :!:

5) I made this thread with the intention of discussing some of the bugs and problems that are happening.

6) Someone edits and renames the original thread that was created ""Subject: Re:Attention! If you have any problems - write here"" becomes renamed to " Attention! If you have any problems - PM Support (contact inside) "

7) You come on here and tell us that we were "clearly told to PM Support and NOT to post in the topic!

We WERE told to post with bugs (Subject: Re:Attention! If you have any problems - write here), then changed to PM support, then locked the thread, then try to pretend like that thread was never there by renaming it!

 

Hiding mistakes and then pretending you said something else is a great way to alienate and make enemies out of your own community.

 

Many will prob just shrug their shoulders and leave for good assuming that no one know how to moderate here or that the game management people here are just lazy or liars.

That would be a real shame since the game has a lot of potential. Communication is essential in keeping those hundreds of thousands of players informed and I just can't believe a decision would be made to "just PM us" thousands of identical problem reports rather than having the thousands of members read and post their experiences and have developers read and post to everyone solutions / updates. What backwards thinking. (Unless of course its because its easier to hide all the problems by ignoring them and tell people not to talk about them)

 

I personally think many problems are due to lag and dropped packets due to bad connections and overloaded servers (just a guess) but who knows? It's never addressed by anyone!

 

I just love how time was taken to post here in this thread to attempt to mislead and hide the original sticky thread by renaming it, however, no time was taken to respond to the fact that the "bug reporting tool" now has been changed without any notice or even a response to what I thought was a bug. Obviously someone changed it so only a few testers can use it now, but we have been told to use it repeatedly until now. No one came on here and told us of this VERY BIG change.

Well, yes, this was my mistake - I'm rarely using english last year and sometimes write or speak in a wrong way.

What we really need around here is for the developers who work on the game to pop-in sometimes and give us an update on the status of various bugs / problems. Or Advice on fixing problems and such. I'm not even clear on whether or not this game is still in beta or is it supposed to be a fully functioning game? (there is money involved so I'd hate to think its still beta)

well i was :shock: (it mean shocked) today.It went bad to worse.I checked this games cookies if it was full of virus.Yep it was,There were 243 cookies and i was :shock: .i deleted all of 'em and i cant open a battle even.I am talking nice cause i may get banned from forum.....So what am i gonna do?. No, I think we will continue to write about our problems here. That is what the game directs us to do if you hit the bug report button, "All other bugs and fixes are discussed at the forum"

 

That is what forums are for in the rest of the world, and I don't think we will change just because the game developers don't want to keep us informed. They know there are problems, and I have been told they are working on them, but I refuse to only send private messages since that would hide all the problems. You see, there are thousands of people who will read these thrads before bothering to play the game, or even CONSIDER paying money to the game. If they see how many problems still exist, they might just wait until they are fixed.

 

I recommend the developers get the bugs fixed, and keep us informed if they ever want to make $$$ :evil:

That makes sense, and I hope this is the way things get done from now on. When someone has a problem, they should post it in the forum and hope someone can help. They can also PM Support so they will know about the problem. Its hard to get a game to be bug-free and of course people will have patience as long as we know what is going on and what is being fixed etc.

Mikhail Gofman is aware of it since he posted twice on this thread. (try reading this thread again) Frankly I don't care if they use the bug reporting tool or not, I would just like to be kept informed rather than getting loads of conflicting information.

 

Did you notice how I complained about Lag and he posted that they were working on it, I replied thanks, and it got fixed. That is how things should get done!

There is a reason people should post their bugs / problems here rather than JUST sending messages to each other, its so we are ALL kept informed. If Mikhail Gofman

wants to enable the bug reporting tool for me, thats fine, I'll use it, but regardless, I will be posting problems here since thats what is supposed to happen!

 

 

ps: apparently the lag issue is NOT completely fixed, I just saw plenty in last few games

If you have found a very very new looking bug, then posting over the PM does the job. The community manager is only the community manager, don't expect him to push a button and solve all the things, right?

 

If you have ideas for the game design, not Performance Issues, then you are encouraged to discuss them in the forum. Other than that what are you arguing over? Bugs? They are being solved friend.

Great then there should be much to talk about with all these complaints being reported :) Perhaps some of us are not mind readers and would like to know these things are being worked on, status reports, etc, esp if they are bugs that have been here for a long long time. When the game gets to be unplayable, "stay patient" means "go away". No one will play unusable games with lag for very long, my friend. If you read this thread then you saw my comment about the bug report tool directing us to discuss all other bugs and fixes in the forum.

 

 

If you don't wish to discuss bugs, then don't but please don't tell us not to discuss them. The game itself tells us to do so. Don't take MY word for it, or even the game itself, Mehdadoo, listen to the Administrator.....

What you missed, Mehdadoo, is that Mikhail said they were applying fixes to 2 problems that should help with the lag over the next few days. That is information WE WANT to know. That happens by DISCUSSING the issues. Please show me where Lag is being discussed in English (besides MY threads), or where these problems have been posted thousands of times? The fixes seemed to help. At first it seems like it did fix everything, but I have started to notice the same lag issues coming back and that's called FEEDBACK. Feedback is a good thing and I wish you would not discourage it here. If you understood game development, not just Flash and XML, you would understand Forums are used so people can discuss bugs as an on going basis. Any good game is developed this way. They have 16000 posts just about single player bugs. Also multiplayer bugs etc etc. I could go on and on about this, but trust me, you are confused.

Wrong, the forum is not your exclusive place, its for us all, and some of us want to post about bugs and performance issues. Period. Accept it. A discussion is an argument only when you stop listening to the other person friend!

 

You have 158 kills, I have over 4700 kills, all by earning them. In 3 weeks. I have never bought a crystal. Perhaps if you PLAYED the game, you would notice some of the bugs :P

BTW - The recent fixes applied seem to be helping with lag, :D :D :D its not gone, but its almost gone, and I don't see any most the time now. Others in games have said its better, or a few still seem to complain about lag. So whatever was done recently - Good Job!!!!
