Weighted units

This drives me absolutely nuts in this game: The basic starter tank can mount the biggest, baddest gun in the game without suffering any loss of speed (Granted, why you'd want to put the Shaft on the Wasp is beyond me), so I actually pondered this:

Why would the light, high-mobility units be able to mount what appear to be heavy, bulky turrets without suffering a bit? Thus, I suggest this:

Higher-tier turrets have a heavier "weight" to them. This fulfills two purposes: it makes the tank slower (so, mounting a freakishly huge weapon like the freeze-thrower on a light chassis is less lucrative) and the amount of weight a tank hull can carry is determined by how many hitpoints it has (Thus, an M3 Hornet can carry a heavier gun than an M0 tank of the same model). The Smokey would represent the lightest turret in the game - naturally, because it's the closest the game gets to a jack-of-all-trades turret without having a schtick thrown in (it can do anything, but something else always does it better, but it can snipe better than the twins can and is - more or less - better up close than the railgun against mobile targets).

(Also, minor gripe: Hasn't Valve taught us that weapons that take control from other users - like TF2's old Natascha and freeze-throwers - make for bad gaming experiences?)

Not bad idea, I can see where your coming from. I would dislike this to be in the game, because there's not much need imo. I mean, I would prefer simply to let the weapon not affect gameplay at all, except for attack. I like how it is at the moment, with no weight at all. I mean, it can even go through walls! (The turret that is). The only way the turret could be given "weight" is for it to not be able to go through walls, which will be very annoying. I would disagree on this idea as it will involve too much changes to the tanki experience we have now.
