What Makes A "Good" Match?

Hello my fellow tankers!

Recently, I finished a very close game of CTF on Silence. The match time was set to 30 minutes with infinite flag captures. Both teams fought very hard despite a small (for some of you) battle fund of 200. Both teams had early on, captured 1 flag. That was all. The next 19 minutes were nothing but a deadlock with both teams pushing up, then being defeated. People grabbed flags, but never got far. Drug use was rampant, but it didn`t affect the game at all. As the match drew to a closure, we were screaming at each other to "Go! Go! Go!" But it was to avail. The match ended in a draw.

Myself, believing we had fought a truly amazing battle, congratulated everyone with "Good game!" Unfortunately, not many saw it that way, calling it a "s*** game". I was surprised. Sure we didn`t get a ton of crystals, but we all fought well and the match was fair and balanced.

That`s my view of a good game: Fair, balanced, and challenging to both teams. However, obviously not everyone thinks this way.

So I ask you Tanki Online community: What makes a "good" match?

I agree with Alpine; I don't look like games when people start cursing or getting mad at each other. But, I prefer there to be no drugging; makes it funner.

A game that is competitive, and demanding. Where I can't look anywhere else for a single moment, where I have a single job, and I don't have to run randomly. A game where I can play with my friends and my clan mates, A game where everyone is happy at the end, A game where not a single drug is used even though it's a no supply game and everyone has over a thousand drugs, A game where if I pickup the enemy flag, I'm sure there are friends behind me to aid me and block any enemy players. A game where I'm sure that a certain someone in the enemy team is a far better player than me but yet I still try to take him on. A death where I get annihilated by the enemy thunder while not even scratching him once, A kill where I do that to the enemy. A game where everyone is respected and emoticons are shared along with some words of respect even though everyone knows that the language barrier exists. A DM game where all players are treated alike and yet the game goes on for the amount of a gold box or two to drop. A map that demands pure team work.

I'll have to say, these games are not rare. ;)

I have to admit, my version of a good match is a game i get lots of crystals in. Even though I always would support fair and challenging games, my primary aim in the match is to get lots of crystals and a good amount of points. However, my perfect match would be a fair, challenging match with no cheating or bad language, where at the end I get a good amount of crystals and points :) And, of course, having friends to play with always makes a game more enjoyable. :)

I agree. All of the options together would create the "perfect" match, wouldn`t they?

I voted for "A fair, balanced, and challenging game regardless of the outcome". The perfect battle for me also includes a good portion of team spirit. Team speak, where everybody can participate, is great - I really wish more players had this in mind and sometimes switched the language to be understood by non native speakers. Battles with strategy are great. If it's a fair battle, I have no problems with leaving without crystals, but of course, I don't need power dopers or a few high ranks entering 10 minutes before finish after a 2 hours fight.
