I decided to post a thread about tanki in the Other games forum in another forum, and i decided to spent some time to write THIS:

Tanki online is a basic tank game, like every other one. but, however, it has a whole comunnity working on it, updating it, and adding even MORE content!

Tanki online is a game about strategy, not just blowing others up, so, be sure to read this whole guide before playing it!

___________________________________Turret information____________________________

In this game, you start only with 1 turret (Smoky) it is a weak weapon at the start, and you will unlock more weapons as you level up. to buy weapons, paints, and bodies, you will need "Crystals", wich is the actual game currency. i will give some info about crystals later.

 

The turrets are-

Smoky(The starting turret, long range, small-medium damage,medium firerate)

Firebird(Unlocks after some level ups, small range, high damage, flamethrower firerate)

Twins(Unlocks after level ups, medium range, small damage, high firerate, 2 barrels)

Railgun(Unlocks after level ups, infinite range, high damage, slow firerate, pierces thru enemies)

Isida(Unlocks after level ups, Small range, small-medium damage, firebird firerate, heals friends)

Thunder(Unlocks after level ups, very long range, medium damage, medium firerate, splash DMG)

Freeze(Unlocks after lvl ups, small range, medium-high dmg, firebird firerate, freezes enemies)

Ricochet(Unlocks after lvl ups, medium range, medium dmg, medium firerate, shots can bounce off walls)

Shaft(Unlocks after lvl ups, infinite range, charge bar determines dmg, depends on how much time you spend charging the charge bar, can "Scope" in enemies, like a sniper.)

Crystals are the current game currency, they are used for almost everything: buying buffs, buying turrets, buying bodies, upgrading turrets and bodies, buying paints, and also to buy a special item that doubles your EXP gain for one month. they are currently gained by-

Inviting friends to the game- get crystals every time they level up

Winning battles- after a battle ends, the "Battle fund" will be given to the players with the highest score. for example, i made 10 score, another guy made 5, and another guy made 0, and the battle fund was 3, i get 2 crystals, the guy who made 5 score gets 1, and the guy who made 0 gets 0.

Collecting crystal boxes- during battles with a battle fund of 6 or higher, crystal boxes will fall from the sky, collecting one will give you 1 crystal.

Collecting 100 crystal boxes- when a battle gets 700 battle fund, a yellow crystal box that gives 100 crystals will fall in the center of the map. when the game reaches 1400, another one falls in the same place, 2100 another one falls in the same... and it goes on.

Winning contests- sometimes, the tanki online team creates some contests, and the winners get between 1500-15000 crystals. depends on how awesome their work was.

Answering questions on their facebook page- Sometimes, they post "Quiz question for 500 crystals - [random question about the game here]" in their facebook. if you are the first to anwer the correct answer, they will deposit 500 crystals in your account.

Buffs, in the game, can come in handy sometimes. every buff has a duration of 1-2 minutes before they run out, and there are 4 buffs-

First aid kit- heals the user by about half of his max life.

Double defense- the person using it gets only half of the damage from enemies.

Double damage- the person using it deals 2x of the usual damage to enemies.

Nitro- Gives the user insane speed, not known if it just increases it to a certain value or if it doubles the default speed of your body.

Mine- not a real buff, but it stands in the buffs bar. when used, will plant a mine. if you die, this mine is destroyed.

They can be won in daily prizes, bought in the garage using crystals, and also collected around in boxes in the battles. When you collect one in a box, you will instantly use it, and the buff only lasts 30 seconds. if you use a bought one/one that you got from the daily prize (hotkeys to use 1,2,3,4,5) it will last 1 minute. it is heavily reccomended to save your crystals for parts, and only use the Buffs you get in the daily prize.

NOTE: Buffs, in the game, are named buffs by the developers, but every player names them "Drugs", so, when someone keeps using buffs for total pwnage, they are called "Druggers".

All you need to know about these- they are merely for decoration, but all the paints that cost 1000 crystals or more give protection agains weapon. you should not but them, its strongely recommended to buy the cheap paints (5-50 crystals), and, when you have all weapons and bodies you want, you should start buying expensive pants and stuff.

________________________________________________________________Extra important information__________________________________________

The game was created by russian developers, and was released in english. 50% of the players speak russian, but in the upcoming tanki online 2.0 there will be a auto translator to translate the russian to english and the english to russian. for now, we have a small dictionary with some stuff right here- click me. - There are also 3 battling modes- Deathmatch (everyone vs everyone) Team deathmatch (Red team vs Blue team) and Capture the flag (Red vs Blue, capture the flag game)

When a match ends in team games, no crystals will be distribuited to the loser team. example-

Me, from red team, scored 400 points.

Another guy, from blue team, scored 600 points.

And the battle fund was 500.

The red team wins, red team captured 5 flags and blue only 3.

I got only 400 points, but i was in the winner team, and i had the top score of the red team.

I get about 250 crystals and the other guys from the red team get the rest.

The guy from the blue team has scored more than me, but however his team lost, so he gets 0 crystals.

The game can be boring at the start, because everyone is using the same tank and etc.

However, after you level up 4 levels (when you unlock twins) you will be able to play with players of ALL levels. every player has his very own, unique tank. you can customize yours in the garage.

Also, last and not very important, when someone buys a turret, its "m0", when they upgrade it once, its m1, upgraded twice, m2, and upgraded thrice, m3. the max level a gun can reach is M3, after you get your gun/body M3, it will be at its max level.

And yep. Wasp and hunter are slow at M0. all the info given here is about the M0 guns/bodies.

Like others said, this has loads of potential but should be a lot shorter. If you want to write a guide for people to join, make it short and punchy. I'm not sure if people planning to join will want to know the ins and outs of freeze, ricochet, or shaft, would they? Make it short and punchy. Someone who wants to join a game won't want a guide, they'll just want two paragraphs telling people what's so awesome about the game.

 

For example, if I was advertising tanki, I'd say:

 

"Hey guys! This is an awesome computer game which I found and which I'd share with you! It's called Tanki Online.

 

Basically, this game is, in a sentence, "A multiplayer shooter game". You control a tank, which you fit with different types of hulls and weapons (short-range, medium-range, healers, snipers, etc). You enter maps, and your aim is to destroy the enemy tanks, and normally to capture a flag from the enemy base to your own as well!

 

With awesome 3d graphics, a massive playerbase, a great community, a wide range of tanks and weapons to choose from, and loads more, what's stopping you? Play here!! Try it out now... honestly, it's the best online game there is!"

 

I know that isn't perfect, but a shorter, more catchy sort of line would be a lot better to post on other forums. What your post is is helpful, but it is better as a guide for newbies, not a sort of advertising thing. Too long posts and it looks very much like spam.
