Important Question

Hello everybody, I just have a quick question. I have heard rumors that in Tanki Online 2.0 they will make it so that you cannot buy m3 turrets unless you have rubies, and that rubies can only be bought with real money, I want to know if this rumor is true because I don't think I will enjoy playing with m2 equipment forever... :?

Please somebody clear this up for me :-) Thanks all and especially to the great and creative Tanki creators! :)

A few things to say on this subject. I hope this helps, and remember, this is not fact. I am making a lot of assumptions here, albeit sensible assumptions.

First thing to say: All that we know about 2.0 at the moment are not much more than rumours. There is no solid fact about 2.0 out there, other than what tanki have said on their homepage, which doesn't cover everything and only gives us a brief overview. What I say here is what I am assuming from the little that we know about 2.0.

Secondly: The rumours about rubies. Rubies are going to exist, that much we know. However, it is very likely, in fact, almost certain, that they will be able to be earned in battles like crystals, except would be harder to find (not so many ruby boxes will drop compared to crystal boxes, ruby fund goes up slower than crystal fund, etc). That is probably the most likely scenario of rubies. Of course, you will be able to buy them as well. That is a certainty.

Thirdly: When we were able to beta test tanki 2.0 earlier in the year, although we weren't able to have proper gameplay and thus we don't know about ruby drops and stuff, we did get to see some prices and specs. From what we saw, this is what I deduce from it about rubies:

-Everyone, in the 2.0 testing, got the same XP back as they had before, and they got a certain amount of crystals, which varied for everyone. Mostly, it was 10x what they had in the original tanki, and considering how the prices were 10x as well, that made sense.

-However, everyone got some rubies as well. Even people who hadn't bought crystals in the original tanki. This suggests that rubies will be available for non-buyers to earn in games.

-But not just M3s but all upgrades (M1, M2, M3, but not M0) cost a certain amount of rubies on top of the crystals as well. For example, if you look here you notice that smoky m1 cost 2800 crystals and 15 rubies.

Basically, to sum up: I think (and it's my opinion, there isn't all that much solid fact about 2.0 out there) that rubies are something difficult but possible to earn in games, and their introduction makes the game have a bit more advantage for buyers: but only a bit. Not being a buyer, I'm sure, will be only a little bit harder by the introduction of rubies.

Thank you very much skitee for your reply, I know these are only your assumptions, but as you say, they are sensible assumptions. All of the points you made are very good ones indeed, and I feel I do not have to worry as much :) I cannot wait for Tanki 2.0 now!!

No problem, however, remember that that is not fact, that is just how I think things will be and what I think the mostly likely option will be for 2.0. If this does not turn out to be the case, I will not be surprised at all.

From what I see' date=' and from what I was told. Rubies were just implemented to increase the "balance" in the game. So, More balance between Buyers and Non-Buyers I mean. =)[/quote']

Good news for me. Means I will have even more advantage.
