Heeelp!!! It's the Gold Rush!

Ok so, when i say gold i mean what everyone else mean; the x100 crystals box.

It is a HUGE problem for gameplay.

 

Q: Why?

A: Because people enter the game when its time for gold and instead of playing out the fight they just rush for the gold box, by that they disturb the game balance and more or less destroy what was a fun battle. 90% of them start the fight with the words (who want to ally for gold)

 

Q: Why does that happen?

A: Because the gold box drops at a more or less fixed spot on the battle field, at a more or less fixed amount of crystals on maps, that allows people to know when and where, so they join in the right time for it if a spot becomes available and disrupt the game.

 

Example?

I was in a fight on silence map (CTF 20 flag limit). As soon as game fund was around 700 those "gold miners" started rushing into the fight. They allied between themselves and didnt let people from BOTH teams play the fight out. Eventually my team (that had more gold miners in it) lost a lot of flags during the time they were bunching up for the gold box drop.

 

Mind you i speak english and russian so i was quite aware of what was happening but couldn't do much about it.

 

So here is what i ask from you nice nice game developers..

Make the gold drop absolutely, completely, 100%: RANDOM!!!

Make it drop at random times and not when game fund reaches certain amounts on certain maps.

Make it drop in random locations instead on a fixed spot in the game.

 

Make it so people who actually play the game can benefit from it and not the gold rushers who do nothing but spoil the game.

I like to think of the gold drop as a secondary objective in a game, next to killing the enemy and capturing flags.

 

Once you become an older user, and most of your tanks and weapons are M3, getting gold boxes is one of the few fun things left to do in Tanki.

I agree. But sometimes when everyone is fighting and waiting for it to dropped, i sneak into enemy base and start capturing flags. Increase my score as well XD

Make it so that if you were not playing for most of the game, you cannot pick up the 100 gold box.

 

You want it? PLAY THE WHOLE GAME.

 

Don't ruin maps by crowding drop zones and leaving once its gone...

uhmm you can. read the last part of my post.

 

Problem is not with people who just joined collecting it. problem is with people who know at what fund amount it will drop on every map and exactly where it drops, they swoop into the game disrupting its process THAT is the problem.

 

By randomizing better the time gold boxes appear, and the area they appear that problem will be solved in a snap.
