suggestion: set a language for a match

 Share

Recommended Posts

hi -

its very annoying that on 90% of the battles I cant talk to my team because they don't speak any of the languages I know. (only Russian..)

I suggest that when someone create a match - in addition to all the options there will be an extra textbox to write the name of the language that the match will be held in.

so - it will be easier for the players to find matches with buddies they can talk to !

or - suggestion #2 -

declaring several (or at least 1 to start with) servers as English dedicated.

if Tanki wants to go global - it should help players talk !

I disagree, because....

1. This is a Russian-made game. Since you are playing it (most probably) for free, you are in no position to demand changes.

Beggars can't be choosers.
This explains what I am saying.

2. People leave battles, people join them. A match that is set to be "English only," the first time may be completely abandoned after it is over, only to replaced by two full teams of Russians. Your idea is flawed.

3. Lastly, Tanki has made it clear that in 2.0, every chat will have a translator set to your native language (You can change it, obviously) . It will be using Google Translate; which I admit, is not the most accurate translator on the web. But it is surely better than nothing.

this isn't about demanding.

it's in Tanki's intrest to become a global game (more revenue)

about 2 - you are correct. thank you.

3 - did they say it for in-game chat as well ? or just for the lobby chat ?

It can't be checkable .. Because you could not check if someone's English or Russian. You could only check this trough the site they went trough to come to the server, but if you type in French, you'll probably get non-French-Talkers. I also think that it should be a button where you can choose the language, not a text box, to avoid misunderstandings.

That's a terrible idea' date=' considering this is a Russian game with a predominantly Russian community. [/quote']

how is this idea bad for the russian community ?

I'd reccommend you to post here if you want the devs to notice your idea: http://feedback.tankionline.com/forum/9519-tanki-online-english/

I kinda like the idea to be honest, but theres no point for me.

I can't even fill the form cause I don't understand the russian.

I would thank you if you could help and post that for me please...

I like the idea with the english(and also german I guess) dedicated server(s). Not where there is any special rule about language but where you know most people come to play and speak with others who don't know any russain :)
