Railgun - name fail

The Railgun in this game is actually only a quite powerful laser - look at the link. In short it's a laser able all its power in miliseconds, so the target is hit by up to a few TW (terawatts). Comparing to an ordinary laser pointer (1 mW), this is up to 1000.000.000.000.000× MORE poweful!!

The real Railgun is this.

On tank I would better imagine a Coilgun

Play the game for what it is --a game-- and not the perfectly defined military encyclopedia with pretty graphics that you want it to be.

I never thought of Railgun as a laser, knowing what a railgun was before entering the game I don't think the name fails.
