Thunder or Shaft?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Thunder and Shaft are 2 different weaps.

I use by myself M3 shaft and i know it's hard to own people who are shooting at you!

But if you like getting flag get thunder! If you want to support the thunder you of course should take shaft!

Try to grade to thunder up to M3 or shaft M2 those are the most powerfull.

Let's see.

Thunders are medium range guns, they are fast at later modifications and capable of dealing large amounts of damage.

Plus splash damage.

Shafts are slow but very potent sniping guns, best for the camper tankmen.

Sniping scope is a good accuracy feature of Shaft, and later modifications are monstrously potent.

Oh but actually, these two guns are equal.

Tier 2 guns are meant to be equal, which includes Thunder and Shaft.

It all really depends on the tankmen's style of play! 8)

Personal preferences come into play when deciding tier 2 units.

I would also choose wisely based on map as well...

Since it is not very wise to bring Shaft to a wide open area, or a Thunder to a cramped space where you can hit yourself.

But really, choose what you will.

It does not matter in the end, as long as you are good at what you use and you enjoy using it.

Shaft is better in only two conditions.

1.) In Monte Carlo, shaft can utterly embarrass any M thunder, because of how little the aiming is knocked off after one thunder hit.

2.) In silence, if a shaft is on the blue team, and is on either the brown pipes or the ramp-off to the mid-level of the map, it can kill any tank before it has a chance to fire.

Other than that, thunder owns shaft.

Thunder beats shaft unless the Shaft is on the other side of the map and is looking at you and you know you're going to be dead in 3..2...1... R.I.P.

Dissagree Koolwalky - Dependes of a lot of parameters and - I've met a few M3 Thunders (ant they kick really well) but non of M3 Shafts yet. Too expensive. Otherwise Shaft don't need to be on other side. Only need enough time to charge to full power and then only Mamooth M3 with extra armour (perhaps) survive.

If Shaft is on good spot and well covered even M0 Shaft sweep away almost everything it comes in his sight.

Truth is, that Shaft demand special people, who are prepare to sacrafize for a team. If you want to be usefull with Shaft, you can't collecting points with runing for flag and playing hero that you can boast yourselfe. With Shaft you are forced to lurk like a pike and never missed a hit. If you miss, flag will be stolen. And often you are dependen on isidas to cure you. However that demands mature calm caracter, not youngster or child. With Shaft also you can't play on all maps. On contrary Thunder is mor or less universal weapon but because of splash efect very sorry on close contact combat. If can't retreat any isida will kill or selfdestruct him (pehaps every weapon wll do the same to him). Only using extra armour can prevent that.

Bigest problem which have snipers with Shaft and Rail have in combat are rookies and idiots (sorry the word but is only sutable I find) who climb ower their tanks instead using some way around. Especiali if you have a Rail this is extremly bothering and anoying. So guys DON'T DO THAT TO YOUR SNIPER FELOWS!!!

BUT - I admit, with Thuder can be solo-player - Shaft NOT. Solo-player Shaft is useless ant it's a joke.

What is interesting is, that we all overlooked two weapons and most of us deaply uderestimate them (at least I did, but see other too) are Smoky M3 and especially Twins M3. Russians are not as stupid as we are (since I meet them a lot with this combination) - those two weapons are cheap and they spend crystals on beter tank (higher upgrade). Because hit-efect you can't come close with isida or freezer, and they run against thunder. High speed of shooting make enogh damage that opponent succumb.
