And we're back! Welcome to the second AW debriefing, where we'll again be featuring the best pieces, latest news, and most exciting goings-on from the past month in Amateur Writer world. The writers in our community have been busy, and produced a solid number of good pieces... and some exceptional ones, to boot.

But that's more than enough of the introductory blahs. You guys have been 'round the block once already and know what's up, so let's do this!
____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Top 5 Articles of the Month

Again, we'll start with the very best articles from the Amateur Writers Section. The number and quality of articles submitted from May 29th to June 29th was great, but as usual, there were a few that really stood out. So, we've discussed, read, and discussed some more, and finally decided on our favorites for the month. (Note that fellow helper Phoenix-Warbird has just left for a month away, so she wasn't able to share her thoughts here this time round!)

1) All Kind: Interviews with the Pros

YskcRev.png

English community in the past had many good clans, now at the moment only few strong EN clans have stayed and made them better than before. AK have been fighting for a few years, had been re-opened after losing Star Series 1st season, but they have kept fighting and gathered new members and now they have showed to all communities that, EN can fight for Top places.

History:

All Kind in the past have been named Arab Knights and formerly called clan was those who played Star Series season 1. Also they were one of few clan who were famous at the time when played in Clan Tournament 8, back then when our community had league system.

Top places:

  • All Kind are winners of Pro Series Season IV

  • Have won many Weekend Cups(Weekly tournament that was played in StarLadder)

  • Also won many Ranking Cups (Daily tournaments in StarLadder)

  • Now they are Master of Swords tournament 2nd place winners and Silver,Gladiator paint owners.

Also now few of AK members have achieved and got Veteran paint:

@Look , @erwinfighter , @PAKISTANII ,

Post support messages in the All Kind clan topic to show that EN are proud of them.

I want to say a big thank you to AK members who agreed to have interview with me!   Thank you guys and I wish all the best to you guys! have fun playing Tanki, keep up with winning tournaments and see you in battle field!   :)

P.S. If want to see how other clan achievements then follow the link to the eSport Legends and an interview with @PAKISTANII to the Hall of Fame topic. Now lets continue with awesome interviews with players from AK - @xMoneyMaker, @Lankbouv@WiTh0uT.RuLeS and @erwinfighter

**

Night-Sisters: Well written, engaging questions, on-point formatting...this is everything an interview should be. Hats off for sure. ^_^

GoldRockAt first glance, this one featured a wide range of discussion topics to do with the highly successful team All Kind, and it didn't disappoint. A really impressive interview, packed full of interesting content and with some great questions asked. In fact, impressive enough to be featured in an official Newspaper article!

2) Just a Crosshair

Just a Crosshair

The man who built it doesn’t want it; the man who bought it doesn’t need it; and the man who needs it doesn’t know it. I’ve always thought that coffins are rather unappreciated things, although not to me. The merits of a coffin have been evident to me for as long as I can remember: they are neat, easily stored, and once all is said and done, they are easily forgotten. Unfortunately, not every problem fits into an 84-inch box. But in the end we all do what must be done, snip off the loose ends, and clean up the mess.

A distant punch of thunder shatters my dark reverie. Rain cascades down the mountain slopes, sending drops of moisture showering down from the tropical leaves. I am always glad when it rains; the relentless hordes of mosquitos abate slightly during the downpours. The clouds are so close to the ground that it is hard to see more than a few yards into the vapor. If only the sun would come out.
**

Night-Sisters: I was hooked from the very first paragraph, and the rest of this story did not disappoint. "Unfortunately, not every problem fits into an 84-inch box." ...it's an amazing quote that absolutely sends shivers down my spine. Discovering high-caliber pieces and unearthing previously-unknown writers is, for me, what makes running AWS absolutely awesome

GoldRock: A really clever and eloquently written story, with a fascinating plot beginning to unravel. I personally can't wait to read the next installment in the series, considering the high quality writing here. Well worth a read.

3) Science Behind Freeze
By:

A successful run through the red team’s base. Nobody saw you, until suddenly, an enemy spawns behind you. You take a quick look back, and you realize to your dread, it is a Freeze. Already having equipped your double armor, you cannot activate a DP to one-shot it. With no one around you to help, you face an inevitable conclusion. You are not going to be making it out alive.

Freeze: the counter balance to Firebird, which (obviously) freezes tanks instead of burning them. Flash-freezing is a fairly underdeveloped science form, with very few real life examples of technology similar to Freeze. Some of these include freeze-drying, dry ice, cryogenics, Liquid Nitrogen, and freezer burn. This means that there is a larger possibility for pseudo-science than with the more tried-and-true flamethrower. And so, without further ado, let us dive into the frozen depths of the science behind Freeze.

Night-Sisters: In a word, this article is unique. I know that's an overused word, but dissecting the sciencey stuff behind this weapon is a hugely interesting idea. I look forward to seeing BTR cover even more of the weapons. *cough* Railgun *cough*

GoldRock: The second in a scientific analysis of the various Tanki weapons, the 'Science Behind Freeze' article provides an interesting and original perspective on the theory behind it all. I personally thought this article flowed quite well and that the content was quite engaging.

4) Kit Review: Boar

Kit Review: Boar

Alright. It has been a while since I have written anything for the AWG, and I bought the boar kit on my alt about a day ago, so I claimed the Boar kit review on our nug mult AWG chat (much to @TheRollingSlab's chagrin). While most people that are maybe about to read this are high ranked, this will hopefully still be helpful in choosing what to get on lower ranked folk's accounts along with alt accounts. I will go over the individual components of the kit, and then how well it works in games.

Click here to read the rest of this in-depth and satisfying review.

Night-Sisters: I'll admit that it was the ending 'report card' that really did it for me with this one. The entire piece is to-the-point and useful, and grading each aspect of the kit finished it up with a bang. If I ever find the time to No Life and rank my alt up to a respectable level, I will certainly consider purchasing this kit.

GoldRock: A thorough and well-structured approach, which covers the various aspects of this kit comprehensively. Very good writing and analysis which makes for a solid kit review. This should be useful to anyone contemplating buying the kit in the mid-ranks.

5) Pdox's and D4T's Opinion Column: Tanki Online
By:  and @Darren4Turbo

Tanki Online, a 3D MMO Action game, was released on June 4th, 2009. It quickly made headlines when it got the ‘Best Game without a Publisher’ and ‘Best Technology’ award at KRI 2009. It also has won the Runet prize not only once, but twice in 2013 and 2014.

The smash-hit game wasn’t going to stop there of course! The developers were determined to make Tanki Online the best online game of its kind.

Since then, Tanki Online has come far. The V-LOGs were definitely one of the most exciting updates to the game. The new graphics, the dreaded ‘Update 123’ - a.k.a the Rebalance, really pushed the game to its limits and to be honest, the developers actually deserve more attention and respect than they receive now.

**

Click here to take a look at the various features and mechanisms of TO, brought to you by Darren4Turbo and DestroyerPDox.

Night-Sisters: The design-work in this one is what really stands out. It's a good summary of the basic elements of Tanki Online.

GoldRock: Personally, I liked this article a lot. I thought it provided an effective summary of all the main aspects of the game and its surrounding community aspects, and would be great to link to anyone new to Tanki. Some good-looking designs and organised sections cap off this fairly professional piece.

Honorable Mentions (in no particular order):

Quirky, interesting, and just plain fun, the title says it all. Definitely a personal favorite. =)

The Spy by
Good setup, interesting characters, and a neat plot. Count me in!

Forgive me (NS speaking here) if I'm slightly biased, but I thought that this was a tremendously interesting and 'edgy' concept.  :P I'll admit I had my doubts about participating at first, but overall it was a fun interview and a good read.

Amateur Writing Club News

It's our second month of existence, and things have settled down into a nice and predictable routine: spam, spam, and more spam we've experienced some (expected) minor bumps in the road, and one or two members have been deemed unfit to participate, but in general, AWC is flourishing and growing at a rapid rate.

Sadly, there was no project this month (blame the Night Sisters) due to time constraints and the pressing duties of life on the Reporter end of it. Fear not, that will be remedied next month.

On a happier note, yet another of the AWC members, @tweezers, was promoted to Candidate Reporter this month. Congrats!

Feel like you want to get involved? Check out the the Section Guidelines, write a suitable article, post it in the Amateur Writing section and you'll soon receive an invitation to join the Club. We keep excellent tabs on who's posting, and all casual and amateur community writers are welcome! You can read more about the Amateur Writing Club here.

New Distinguished Members

@KillerGnat

Congratulations on your high-quality contributions to the Amateur Writing section, and we hope to see you continue along the same lines. Regardless, there are many hard-working writers in the section who could soon join the ranks of the Distinguished Members. Keep writing!

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

And that's all folks! Hopefully you enjoyed seeing what the communities up-and-coming writers are working on. Tune in next month for more of the same, 'til then this is master-boss-admin-king Goldnug and Night-Sisters signing off.

Congratulations to the new designated members, you'll find (like I have) that being a designated member changes nothing at all  And I was hoping to become admin of the Skype group :(

Nice piece, like the previous round.

I find it insulting that this topic is titled "amatuer" because there are probbly many better writers out there, even than the reporters, who aren't a part of the reporter team.

GNjUuvF.png

The first definition of 'amateur' as engaging in writing on an unpaid basis is that one that applies here.

Also, there's no need to make such comments just because your own applications to join the Reporter team have been rejected in the past.

^No, I am neither insulted nor annoyed that my app was rejected. I have decided ayway to stop trying to do something that I am not meant to be

But still, just because you have reporter status, doesn't make you the absolute best (No, I am not saying I am the best),

And for gosh sakes, stop using the "this is what I meant" response, because what most people comprehend the word "amateur" to mean is someone who is basically a noob, considering profesional means sklled, and ameteur means tha opposite.

Also GoldRock, I would like to point out that I have lost all purpose in becoming a reporer, becasue its clearly very time consuming and I have stopped wasting more than like 30 minutes on this game, because of lame updates.

Please don't defend the updates, you reporters get a fat pay check for your servics, so nothing is unreasonable to you.
