Hello again, readers! Welcome back to the latest installment of all things AWC related. We've got epic reads, a new project and everything else you've come to expect from this article. Without anymore faffing about, let's get to it.

Top 5 Articles of the Month

Every month, we receive a few absolutely exceptional articles in the Amateur Writing Section, and we feel that they are worthy of your attention. Here, in no particular order, are the 5 best articles of the month.

1. Newspaper contests: An Inside Look

by @M-axis

Newspaper Contests: An Inside Look

Welcome Tankers and thanks for reading this article! Newspaper Contests. What are they? Every month, in every publication, there are various contests, where if you have some special talent, you may be the lucky someone who wins crystals. But how are they judged and how are they run? Today, we shall find out!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all, I'd like to welcome today's guests, Savage and Blackdrakon30! Would you like to give a short introduction to our audience? How old you are, and when you joined the paper, for example?

BD30: Hello, I'm... well, pretty much everyone here knows me already.    I'm a professional mult from the United States,  and joined the reporter team back in December this year. I don't play Tanki Online much anymore thanks to some complications, but in my spare time I am an avid fan of competitive Pokemon, soccer,  and I'll soon be playing Overwatch often too. I'm currently 16 years old.

Savage: Hello there! I'm Jason, a 17 year-old hy6 mult from the United Kingdom, specifically Northern England. Outside of Tanki (about the only video game I play), I enjoy playing football (soccer), cricket and rock climbing. I joined the Newspaper in February 2017 after spending a lot of time writing for the AWC. However, I quit my role after several incidences which prompted me leave the paper.

Tweezers: An interesting read, with well put questions and a good conversation with the interviewees.

BD30: This article was pro cuz I was in it This interview combined well-planned questions with super awesome interviewees quality interview conversation to make a good article that gives a taste of the 'behind-the-scenes Newspaper'.

Early October of 2014, my Sophomore year of High school, the whole school district received personal Chromebooks for students, something I was looking forward to. No more textbooks, no aching wrists from writing notes and the fact you can take them home to "do homework." No...at home, I'd either listen to music, watch Minecraft on YT or I'd be surfing Kongregate for cool games. Small games that only took up to an hour to beat or just online games with other real players.

One night, I had gotten bored of doing my math homework, which there was always a lot of. A nice packet that would have to be finished in a week. Sadly that teacher hadn't gotten on the Chromebook train. Anyway, I headed over to Kongregate and did some searching. When I came across Tanki Online, I just had a hunch it was a good game, so I clicked it.

Thus, my Tanki Online career as a non-turret-turning-mult had begun.

Tweezers: Another biography, but a very well written, subtly satirical and entertaining one. Brings back quite a few memories, and perhaps a few regrets too.

BD30: This was pretty similar to how I started Tanki (#TheChromebookLife), and I definitely identified with this tale. Definitely well written even if it's in a somewhat common genre in the Tanki forums.

3. Food Wars: A Noodle of Hope

by

A long time ago in a galaxy inhabited by dogs...

Episode IV, A Noodle of Hope. It is a period of famine. Starvation Fighter starships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory over the evil Alpha Empire. During the fight, rebellious but highly trainable spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's most disturbing weapon: the Dearth Star, a chemical fertilizing station with enough poison to destroy the food supplies of an entire planet. Pursued by the Empire's agents, Princess Yorkie races home aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can destroy the Alpha Empire and restore hearty meals to the galaxy.

Tweezers: As parodies go, this is refreshingly original and well written. Woof!

BD30: Pro story k thx bai. It was quite amusing to read and well written as a parody.

4. A Tanki Online guide: Discover who you are

by @zaintahir

A TO Guide: Discover who you are

I have seen many articles on a certain tactics in Tanki, a guide to Firebird, a guide to Smoky, a guide to capturing the flag, and many lower ranks, and even some higher ranked players including me  follow these strategies. However sometimes those players just aren't meant for that role in the battlefield, and end up at the bottom of the battle list with a very horrible K/D, not to mention that their team lost.

I am here to help these players correct that, and find their true role in winning the battle. Now I have seen many people more professional than me make these kinds of articles, and bravo to them, they did well, but I feel they did not accomplish what was needed, so I am simply trying something else these noobs also haven't played games like overwatch so what can you expect

I'm going to divide these into five categories, Offensive I Defensive Tanking Defensive support Offensive support

Tweezers: A pretty solid guide, that nicely covers all the positions that the average tanker experiences in their career.

BD30: Overall a very well-encompassing guide about positions on the battlefield that was nice and informative.

5. Inventing Parkour Tricks

by @SwiftSmoky

Inventing Parkour Tricks

The video shows how inventing tricks can seem so magical to people - like, you need to be a genius to think about this stuff. I am one of the best trick inventors in Tanki and my brain is completely normal. I just approach this task in a better way, and you can too.

First you'll get familiar with a few basic terms, and then you'll learn two good methods that I use to invent tricks. One of them allows me to invent several tricks in a few minutes, and I'm not kidding, but do not expect to achieve such results quickly and easily.

Click the link above to read on!

Tweezers: Well written, with engaging content and super formatting. Well done!

BD30: Parkour tricks <3 The methods were nice and easy to understand, and combined with quality writing and formatting made this an excellent article.

I congratulate everyone! And while I haven't read all of these some of them seemed interesting.

I would have joined in the last ones but I was so busy and now I'm unsure about my writing skills.

Well, why not participate in the next one and gauge your performance? We do provide constructive critisism, if required.
