What you just witnessed above ^ was a generic title.

If you haven't already, please read the Mid-Ranker's Handbook: All About Crystals.  In the case that you haven't, please go and read it here.

Though they advise the average mid-ranker to refrain from buying items whenever possible, everyone can't stand having 20,000 crystals or more usually ignores what they say.  Which allows me to inform you that while nobody except extreme buyers can enjoy the satisfaction of having a shopping spree, it's ok to buy another M1.

The attentive readers say, "But it says here that 'Just don't buy it if you don't really need it.'"  Well, if you really want to break out your wallet and spend it on some useless stuff new equipment and supplies, you've gone to the right article.

IMPORTANT TIPS!

Don't use all your crystals like an average Joe.  At least have an emergency fund of 5,000 crystals in case you need to buy something quick.  Better yet, make it 10,000.  If you're saving for something bigger, leave a large portion of the savings for the bigger prize.  So if you want a Wasp M1 at 13,000 crystals, and you have saved 50,000 crystals for your M2, (let's be serious here, nobody would do that, but we're going with that example) don't buy it until you can almost afford what you want to buy.  An idea that violates my "Free Crystals" principle that might work is saving for a M1/M2 by accumulating all the crystals you earn from daily missions.  It might take a while, and your craving for the item might just go with it.

Q: What do you want to buy?

A: A paint.

In this case, please look at the price tag.  If it is one of those overpriced really amazing looking paints, just skip out on this one. If you're looking to buy the Orange Paint so you can submit a video of the week (yes, I already know the paint isn't Orange), fine, go ahead and buy it.  And finally, the camo paints.  Just play rock, paper, scissors against yourself.  There.

A: A turret.  Or maybe a hull.  Maybe a module.

First, take a good look at your crystal count.  Do you have enough to purchase the desired item(s)?

A1: No.

Why did you ask in the first place?

A2: Yes.

Why do you want this turret/hull/module?

If the answer is for things like gold hunting, ask yourself, Am I a good gold hunter or not?   The answer will quickly come, and only the true gold hunters will buy this.  If you are a parkour enthusiast, then go ahead and buy it if your clan leader directs you to.  Otherwise, it might just make you spend more crystals on a pointless cause if you normally don't even use the equipment.  And for modules, they are ridiculously expensive, so make sure the module you get is worth your money (i.e. you buy a Firebird Module so those annoying Firebirds will have a hard time killing you)

A: Supplies

Step 1: Log onto Tanki Online.

Step 2: Complete at least one mission.

Step 3: Repeat for 7 days.

Step 4: Open a container.

Step 5: Did you notice you just got free supplies?

Step 6: Repeat Steps 1-5 again.

What's that?  Oh, so you're a big drugger.  Well, in that case, you might want to start using them more efficiently...

A: A Pro Pass

If you have time to get the best out of it, go for it.  If you can't, then why bother?

A: A gift.

Wait till you're a Legend, okay?

A: A drone.

If so, keep saving.  There a likely chance that your drone empty your wallet, not including the batteries it costs to operate.  And besides, is it really useful to you?

However, there's always a downside.  Look below.

A Myth About Crystals

"Free Crystals"

Scenario 1: I just caught a Gold Box!  And I have just enough crystals!  Let's go buy supplies in bulk!

Scenario 2: I won the consolation prize on the Newspaper Contest (not an advertisement ).  I can buy this totally useful M1!

Scenario 3: Finally!  I got something useful in a container!  I finally got 25,000 crystals.  Let's celebrate and buy a drone!

Everyone enjoys the moment that they get 'free crystals'.  But what really stinks is once the crystals are gone, it's back to the drought of little reward.  So cherish crystals you get without earning and save them for the right things.

A Look Back In Time...

You might be wondering why you're still reading, but now you should be awake.  I'm going to tell about my personal failures.  At the start of my Tanki career, I never knew what to be.  I got convinced into buying a Thunder M0 (goodbye crystals) and the 'Commando' Kit (that was back before Update 473 (but I was too busy to say goodbye to more crystals)).  So I guess everyone makes mistakes.  Even tankers who write about spending crystals.

Which also reminds me to tell you how I spent 40,000 crystals over a week.  Micro-upgrading my Fire-Wasp.  (They don't come cheap, you know?)  And I totally forgot about my savings for modules...

Enough of me telling my mistakes.  Look below for a final thought.

And if you really can't choose between two builds...

Just do both.  I hope you picked the same hull for both builds

Well, I guess I'm out of ideas.  Happy Buying!

For those of us who can't remember what update was what, can you give a reminder of what 473 was...

Otherwise good article, I liked the humour, though maybe next time try to use strikethrough a bit more sparingly :p
