Mammoths and Titans Overdrive

Recommended Posts

I would like to make a suggestion: The Mammoths and Titans Overdrives are really over-powered... Especially when it comes to Golds. When a Gold Box drops, the Mammoths and Titans use their Overdrive and there is no way to push the Mammoths, otherwise you'll be shredded, and if you try to kill the Titan, the Titan will take NO damage because the damage you do is being countered by 50 healing points per second, so while you take damage while trying to get the Gold, they are healing and are almost impossible to kill (along with their team mates in the Titans Overdrive shield). I would really appreciate it if we could do something to prevent and / or change this, otherwise it's almost guaranteed that the Mammoth and Titan will get the gold. Even if I'm in a Titan Overdrive from my team, an enemy Mammoth with it's Overdrive activated comes and kills us all, and then it doesn't take damage while taking the Gold, and anyone who tries to kill / move it is almost instantly killed. I would appreciate this issue being looked into. Thanks!

Developers say that the overdrives are currently quite balanced, but further adjustments may be made if necessary.

Both Titan and Mammoth overdrives have counters. For Titan you can just use Hunter and disable it, shoot through the shield with Hornet's OD, or drive through and kill the Titan with mammoth OD. For Mammoth, you can disable it with Wasp's bomb, or use Viking's OD to quickly kill it before he gets the chance to activate the OD - that way you either kill him, or he activates OD too early and dies to the meteorite.

Hunter can also stop the overdriven mammoth, which helps you gain ground when running away from it, by the time it moves again, it only has 3 seconds at most to catch up to you.

2 seconds*

Viking's Overdrive is also 2 seconds longer than mammoth's now so in the likely case that you activate your Viking's Overdrive 2 seconds into the Mammoth's Overdrive, you have about 4 seconds to kill the Mammoth after its Overdrive ends which is more than enough time unless they have maximum protection against you.

And then you have another Mammoth using their Overdrive which is a counter to the first one but this one is unreliable if you don't have a very low ping.

Or if your aim keeps getting knocked off by a smoky, Rico, or twins. Happened to me way too many times for me not to include this.

Maf, why does hornet overdrive suck? All it does is show health of other tanks.

The user that activated the Overdrive can ignore enemy's protections (double armor supply, protection module, and titans dome) for 20 seconds. Which is a really long time and very useful in wiping out even the most well protected enemy in just a matter of seconds.

This post shows that most people have actually no idea what their overdrive does. Hornet's overdrive is the one I fear the most, except maybe hunter. This is because no matter what I do, you might come up to me with your railgun, hammer, or anything and instantly kill me through protection and armor. Hornet's overdrive is amazing. I love it

Look at it differently. This guy is just a WO5. He probably has no protections. Maybe he's got like 15% or so. DA is not used as often as in high ranks, since chain rewards are lowered for newbies. Open your mind a bit.

Please think before you say something like that about a new player. He's one of the few who joined the game this year.

The playerbase consists mostly of Legends and the game is not attractive to new players who just want to play casually anymore.

Battles at WO5 are intense, with many hardcore druggers. Most people have around 20-25% Protection. Hornet's Overdrive gives a serious advantage at lower ranks as well, just not as much as at higher ranks.

It seems like Viking's OD doesn't do well against other ODs. Titan is the worst-it seems like a joke that you can deal incredible amounts of damage-and the shield halves the damage-and the healing just heals it back up.

Maybe Tanki felt that since players are using Viking too much it needed a nerf. Viking OD needs to be able to work on enemies' ODs better.

He's not bashing him because of his rank. He's bashing him because of something stupid that he said.

You're right, although I'd say that most players are a bit weaker than what you suggested.

That being said, I really miss the times when there were a lot of casual low ranked players instead of some YTber making yet another RTL or just drugging smurfs.

I am not talking about discrimination of newbies. I am simply pointing out that:

1. What the guy said sort of applies his rank in terms of gameplay. Balance on each rank is different. Dictator on low ranks is a good example. Hornet makes another one. Doesn't look like Potdindy thought of that.

2. How can he not understand why the guy wrote stuff about the Overdrive? This dude is a newbie non-buyer, and he is sharing his experience with a specific OD.

New players deserve some understanding.
