I consider this game a combination of skill and supplies (with a decent tank) The first couple to ~25 battles max (depending on how long the battle is and the crystals you achieve) is just trying your best to rank and increase equipment. After you get a good gun and hull going, you can start getting more kills (with partial skill) You continue until you reach a high rank, and have a good tank. Trust me, skill is a factor. Logic, skill, power all come in handy for combat.
