You need a hull augment called Miner. When you have it equipped, 70% of the mines you placed will stay when you get destroyed.
  2. Maf's post in How can I know the bots was marked as the answer
Bot nicknames are always made up of a first and last name separated by a space. Normal users can't add a space in the nicknam, so if you see a player with a space in their name, it must be a bot. They also have special 50% universal protection, which is another giveaway, although it's possible for some players to have universal protection too (but not 50%).
  3. Maf's post in Trick or treat minigame broken.... was marked as the answer
I spent my 100 lollipops today and moved forward 10 times, 3 of the moves were +2. Helped me complete the 3rd lap. On the other hand, earlier in the game I was very unlucky, getting thrown back at every opportunity.
The reality is that the game is random, so sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't. I'm also fairly certain that players aren't expected to complete lap 4, 5 and 6 without buying lollipops from the shop or catching hundreds of lollipop golds. Only the most insanely lucky F2P players will be able to finish lap 4.
  4. Maf's post in help plz was marked as the answer
I've been trying to fix this issue for a while, but no luck so far.
I did find a workaround though — you can make the post without a video, and then edit the post and insert the video. It should successfully embed.

  7. Maf's post in Is it a bug or feature? was marked as the answer
It's definitely a bug, most likely caused by the desync of data on your client vs data on the game servers. The game on your own PC shows that you're back in the battle, but the server didn't receive the command that you left the garage, and therefore still thinks you're in the garage.
    How often does it happen?
Reloading the game should fix it.
  8. Maf's post in Big Map was marked as the answer
It was after the big map experiment in early 2021 (or late 2020?). We had only small maps for a week, and then only big maps for a week, and players really liked having big maps, so devs made it possible to have different numbers of total players in MM, and added a mix of small and large maps. The update was around mid-January, I think.
  9. Maf's post in Very Very fast tanks .But How ? was marked as the answer
A hull's speed can be increased with the Speed Boost supply. This can further be increased by using the Trickster drone, and even further increased by using Crisis. Then, specifically in case of Mammoth, its overdrive gives it an additional speed boost on top of the one from supplies. So a Mammoth with its overdrive enabled and with Crisis-boosted speed can easily catch up to a light hull with basic speed boost.
  10. Maf's post in How? was marked as the answer
"Status Updates" used to be displayed right on the forum profile page back when we had the old forum version, so there were strict rules about who could use them and for what purpose. But since we upgraded the forum engine, I struggle to even remember how to access that feature since it's so hidden. If I recall correctly, only admins can post status messages, but all helpers can reply to any status update, and anyone can react to either of them.
  11. Maf's post in Tank with two double damages? was marked as the answer
The second icon is a "boosted damage" effect, which is a bonus that further increases damage. This effect is given via activation of a specific drone — either Booster, or Crisis.

  12. Maf's post in Why do hulls and turrets on level 1 look like maxxed out? was marked as the answer
    Hey, welcome back :)

The reason for changing the skins is actually quite simple. Developers want to make the game more visually appealing, and the first step is updating all tank models to a new look — one that has more polygons, smoother angles, and better details. They're calling them HD skins, and perhaps you've noticed that a few of those already got released for old turrets and hulls. Each of those skins takes a lot more time to produce compared to the older basic skins, and there used to be more than 100 of those skins, when you count every single modification of every turret and hull. Making them all HD and giving them away for free would be a huge waste of resources.
Therefore instead developers decided to reduce the number of default skins to just one per turret/hull, reducing the number of HD skins from >100 down to around 40. Since each HD skin takes days/weeks to make, it makes the process more efficient and cost-effective. As a result, all modifications now look the same, but you also have the option to equip XT and other cosmetic skins if you have them.
I recommend you check out this topic for a concise list of major updates you've missed.
  13. Maf's post in Head developer? was marked as the answer
Yeah, pretty much this. We don't know for sure, and AlternativaGames reserves the right to keep the info private since they're a private company.
A while ago it was Anton Volkov and Alexei Karpovich, but I'm 95% sure it's different now.
  14. Maf's post in Why is there no discounts for tankoins was marked as the answer
If I remember correctly, the reason was because Google doesn't allow apps to do discounts on in-app currency in order to prevent some legality issues. So, in order to circumvent that and allow TO Mobile to be remain on the App Store and continue having discounts, developers made it to that the currency itself never has discounts, but the items you purchase with said currency do get discounts. This is actually one of the main reasons why tankoins got added in the first place.
  15. Maf's post in Upgrading was marked as the answer
Hi. Yes, the system was changed in december last year, and the previous 4 modifications were adjusted to a total of 7. Overall nothing changed, and prices remained mostly the same (there was a slight increase, if I recall correctly), but now you need to buy all 7 modifications in order to max out your equipment's stats.
If you have an item at Mk4, it means it's equivalent to around M1-M2 by the previous system, and you will struggle if you use it in Legend battles.
  16. Maf's post in Turrets and Hulls was marked as the answer
There is no specific schedule for releasing new turrets and hulls. 9 turrets and 7 hulls were made between 2009 and 2011, but then only 2 more turrets came in 2015, and two more in 2017. We only got Gauss last year, while Ares and Hopper were added this year within a couple months of one another, after being in development for a very long time.
Point is, there is no schedule for new equipment releases, so just follow the V-log and news, and watch for relevant announcements.
One of the recent V-logs teased a "Tesla" turret, so that's something to look forward to, although there is no definite release date for it.
  17. Maf's post in Have Crisis drone been nerfed ? was marked as the answer
I just confirmed — this was an unintentional feature and a recent hot-fix update removed this ability. Developers cannot guarantee stable performance of undocumented features, so if a feature is not listed in any official description of the item, then it shouldn't exist.
  18. Maf's post in Even a tiny bump self-destructs me was marked as the answer
Automatic self-destruct works just like pressing the delete key, meaning that you will wait 3 seconds before self-destruction after it activates. In your case it seems like you're talking about instant sudden self-destructing, which only happens as a result of the anti-cheat system triggering.
It happens to everyone at some point, usually when doing abnormal actions like attempting to ride on top of another tank. But usually it's quite rare, so if it affects you often (multiple times per game), then it's likely to be an issue with your internet. Anti-cheat self-destructs lagging players in order to prevent them getting an advantage from lag.
  19. Maf's post in Shaft was marked as the answer
From what it looks like, Shaft shoots some kind of energy projectile, like a bolt of plasma, similar to Twins and Ricochet.
But as far as game mechanics go, it fires hitscan projectiles with a range penalty in arcade mode, meaning that the shot instantly hits its target the instant you fire (unlike Twins, but same as Smoky). And if your target is too far away, you will deal very little damage unless you use the scope.
  20. Maf's post in I want to know why the stats(Damage) of Vulcan is constantly being degraded. was marked as the answer
Game balance is an ongoing process, and there will always be changes happening to various turrets in an attempt to make them fit better in the game. When Vulcan was first added in 2016 (I think), it was an insanely powerful turret with crazy physical force that made light hulls impossible to control while under fire. Then it received a nerf, then alterations were added and it became powerful again when combined with certain alts, then it got nerfed again and remained as the least popular turret for a long time.
A recent update changed the firing mechanism from hitscan (meaning bullets hit the target instantly) to projectile, where each bullet has its own trajectory and takes time to reach the target. That was already a significant buff, but then hull augments were added and the combination of Vulcan with Heat Immunity became an unbeatable combo. This is why it got nerfed twice in the recent months, and, depending on how it performs, future updates may nerf OR buff it again.
  21. Maf's post in stats of I&S section was marked as the answer
In this topic you can read a bunch of details about how we manage the section and how you should post ideas. It also lists all the status tags and what they mean.
As for hiding rejected ideas — you are allowed to do that, but we would prefer if you didn't, since leaving it visible to other players means that people might see it and will be less likely to post the same thing again. Declined ideas are nothing to be ashamed of anyway. We appreciate the fact that you're involved with the development of the progress and wish to express your opinion about how you think it should be changed or improved.
  22. Maf's post in Did the battle funds decreased over time ? was marked as the answer
Ah, I forgot to mention that given the recent trend, it's pretty obvious that battle funds will be completely removed from PRO battles in the near future. All PRO battles, no exceptions. This is how it works in all other similar games, and allowing players to continue earning crystals that way is a significant disadvantage for the game.
When it comes to income, however, there is currently a variety of new sources of income, which were lower or did not exist at all in 2018. This includes challenges, special missions, very common double fund events, more common increased gold box drop events (with way greater drop rates than ever before), and possibly more. That being said, there are many more things to spend crystals on in the garage, and many items became more expensive over the years, so judging income based on battle fund alone is completely inaccurate. I'd say at this point battle fund accounts for around 30% of income for most players, but this is just my personal estimate.
I don't think battle funds changed by a significant amount over the past couple years, but either way it doesn't matter as much due to the fact that any such change would only play a small role in the overall economic balance.
  23. Maf's post in errors was marked as the answer
The errors do happen. They seem to happen quite regularly in both Flash and the new HTML5 version of the game, and in both cases require the game to be restarted. You don't normally have to wait a minute though — an instant restart usually fixes the issue and gets you right back into the battle without major setbacks. Hopefully these errors will be fixed in the near future.
As for repair kit — what you're describing is an intentional mechanic introduced a few years ago to reduce power of the repair kit. When you activate it, you instantly get 1000 health, while the rest of it is added slowly if you don't take damage. If you do get damaged, then the healing process stops, so make sure to carefully time your repair kits.
  24. Maf's post in How do Incendiary Band's targets accumulate heat? was marked as the answer
I assume the 7% means it keeps adding 7% of maximum per shot. So if maximum temperature is 1.00, then each bullet adds 0.07 to the tank's temperature.
