1) I bet he had to download it, so the logo in the bottom right hand corner would not be there in the first place, adn it would also be hi-res 2) He did a lot better job than you. End of.

Yes, they will be faster then they are now (I mean FPS wise, not faster...) as they are a smaller file size and will take less computing power to update the image.
