I don't see how you can possibly find that funny or think that he's right. Vegetarians eat anything apart from meat, but they do eat what they must to survive - that includes plants, fruit etc. The meat that is produced for human consumption is fed by humans anyway, so by being vegetarian, less food is wasted and they would find a different source of food. Most food that we eat isn't fed to farm animals anyway. There is plenty of food for all species, vegetarians aren't depriving them of anything. Maybe you should do some research before you post such an immature comment.

I'm a vegan ( so yes, I suppose you could call me a vegetarian) - But that doesn't mean I have to like the taste of every vegetable, fruit etc.

You must be joking. Of course most (if not all) vegetarians would eat meat if they had to do it to survive XD Maybe you should keep your threatening comments and pointless stories to yourself. (Btw, extreme vegetarians are not called vegans XD Vegans are vegans, vegetarians are vegetarians - no matter how extreme you are of 1, it doesn't make you the other :')

Hahah, I see the confusion. I said that we do not need to eat meat to survive - not that we don't need to survive. Yes I have heard of a food chain, but almost all of the animals that we eat are bred for the sole purpose of human consumption. So it would make an extremely small difference to the ecosystem. So no...all hell would Not break loose.

Just because other animals do something, doesn't mean we should aswell, we can decide what we eat and what we do and convince other humans. But we cannot do the same with other species. As we do not need to eat meat to survive, why should we put the animals through such suffering? Like I've said way too many times, the reasons people eat meat all come down to being lazy, wanting the pleasure, not caring about other species or being uneducated. They do not care if they die, simply because they can't care. We eat plants because we must do it survive, I see nothing wrong with that. Like other species, they do what they must to survive. Vegetarians eat anything but meat. Vegans are the same as vegetarians, except they won't eat any products from animals (honey, milk, cheese etc.)

First of all, I'd like to thank you for being so polite and respectful. 1. From what you have said, it seems that most animals are slaughtered in a "humane" way as most call it. I now think that it comes to opinion of what is right and wrong. Personally, I think it is wrong to kill animals for food when it's unnecessary, whether they feel pain or not. "I'd like to point out though, that dying is never without stress or pain" Of course it can be without stress or pain. Have you seen how dogs are put down? What makes them so much more special than cows, pigs and chickens etc.? 3.(:

Just because we did something in the past doesn't mean we should and need to do it now. Like I said the other day, we are more civilised now. - With that attitude, we would never have abolished slavery. The human species used to have other humans as slaves, but now we know that to be wrong. There is no need to eat meat, so why put animals through such suffering.
