I drug for small funds. But only cause I'm drugging for fun and not for the fund. Although, in a situation like you described, I'd stop drugging, except for maybe the occasional nitro when I had the flag. (Simply cause I'd be bored of moving slowly)

The topic was locked as voting closes on the 18th and that is now. The mod did not look at the vote before closing. Hopefully when the topic is closed won't matter as the vote won't be counted.
-
It's locked, thank goodness that is over! I hope that the vote will be called void due to the pathetic cheating going on. There is no honour or pride in winning a contest like this.
-
Wow, this shows the English community is such a good light. If you guys want more and better contests, especially those to do with clans, this is exactly how not to get them. Congrats on shooting yourselves in the foot. look what came true...
-
So where do I live?
-
There never was anything like this, and the idea to implement it was declined.
-
Seriously... Contests should be Devs Choice everytime, or it just decends into a farce like this...
-
Wow, you can tell the slighty noob clans that are basiclly begging for votes... (Or perhaps the noobs in them) May the most mults win...
-
Well, may the most mults win... <_<

Most English players will use English server 2 or 'en2' in the address bar.

I've just been onto a server and used the filter for the first time. I think the way they work is the wrong way. Atm, you can "deselect" a button which removes the type of battle from the list. However, I think the best way for it to work is to be able to select a button and it shows just those battles. For example, atm, to show all CTF and CP battles, I have deselect DM and TDM. However, I think it should be that you simply select CTF and CP. It makes far more sense and is less work also, you should be able to click one button to see one type of battle, atm you have to click 3. I also think the fact they are saved is not a good idea as well. For some, who only play certain types of battles all the time, it's ok, but for most people, you may want to play CP one day, thn the next day you come on and only see CP when you might want to play DM. Each time you load a server, I think you should have all 4 types shown, and not what you wanted to play yesterday shown. Great idea, glad that its finally here, but poor implementation IMO.
-
Cool, I hope this is the first part in leading to a more comprehensive filter, such as being able to filter by map as well, and even searching for someone to see if they are in a battle. Would also be nice to be able to filter the battles themselves, by limiting the weapons and tanks in them, then filtering the battles in the lobby like this update.

Nice! Thanks! Love the paint! :D

Interview [Issue 10] Ask the Community 2
Lhamster replied to Lhamster in [Issue 10] Ask the Community 2 Newspaper Archive
In the second article of this series, I'm asking: 'What is your favourite map and why?' Let's find out what the English Community thinks: @datie9 My favourite map is 'zone'. There are a few things which make this map to the 'perfect' map in my opinion. Zone is one of the most balanced maps of Tanki, there is just a tiny little difference between the two sides. This also is my favourite map because it's the first map where my clan played a clanwar, we made that game to a draw by the way. The map also has nice buildings and decoration and not for forget: Cool spots for parkour! @Shar0n Edinburgh, as I like the strategies you can make there, it has a top floor which makes it really interesting and the whole map just looks really good and fun to play in. My favourite map has to be Sandbox. Why? Small but popular, and despite the seemingly calm and peaceful name, Sandbox provides such a vast range of gameplay and strategy, varying from intense CTF drug-wars to vivid DMs. For me personally, I always reminisce about Sandbox being the first map I ever played on, driving around and shooting as I pleased. Found numerously in every server - regardless of rank, Sandbox is the home of all weapons (but Shaft) and hulls. What I love most about Sandbox is what can happen in a matter of seconds. Yes, the length between the two flags is quite short, but the journey between them is a feat in itself – what can take place is completely beyond you. In the space of a minute, a Thunder could completely knock you off course; a Freeze could slow you down; the gold could even fall… The possibilities are endless due to the size and layout of the map. My favourite map would be Sandbox, especially NS, since only tactics, skills and teamwork matters here. The base of both sides are same so its fair. That's a good question. I'd have to say my favorite map is Kungur, although I also like Iran and Silence, I find Kungur is a bit more interesting when playing long CTF and TDM matches. The first few times I played it I loved it, I would just camp behind the houses on the red team's side and quickly get loads of kills while making the red team very angry. I find that Railgun and Shaft do seem to have a slight advantage in this map. If you’re a Shaft, there are many places to camp in the bushes and gain kills very quickly. If you’re a Railgun, you can easily gain points by staying in one spot and taking shots at tanks who come out in the open, or on the bridge. So, in short I think this map has an awesome layout, some great places to hide and some pretty cool designs. I hope it will stay around for a while longer. @already.dead My favorite map in tanki is canyon. It was a map I played alot in my earlier days. I like the way that you can parkour to sniping spots, or ambush with short range weapon. It is also one of the maps were i got my most goldboxes. It brings back many good memories of the old days :) @Raphael2 Well.. One of the reason why I love Tanki Online, is the great variety of maps. I don't have a favorite map, but a little group of them stand out of the others. The last one I played, is Iran. This is a great map, because it is the only one which got Persians props (buildings, ground, trees,..), it has an balanced and interesting gameplay (4 ways from a base to the ennemy's base: right, left, middle, tunnel). And all guns suits this map : closed ranged, middle-ranged weapons and long-ranged weapons can make a good score here. As I am an Isida and Smoky user, This map give me a lot of fun. I have a few big favourite maps but all and all even though I don't see many battles going on in this map is "Barda" it is a somewhat small but cool underrated map, both sides for CTF are nice and even, the layout of low ground and high ground, and I find that this map takes some skills to capture the flag, got to get used to it before you conquer it @BarbaFenner89 My favourite map in Silence 1. I choose it since it's just amazing to see in how many ways you can take the flag and then run away! You can play it tons of times, but you will always find a new way to take and cap enemy flag. Spawn points are well-placed, supplies and crystals fall in good places and there are really nice camping spots. The only bad side is the fact that long, long battles become really boring since the map is little, but for battles that last around 1-2 hours, Silence 1 suits :) @Ranger7 Though I enjoy tons of maps, I have a special liking for Noise. It is very unique, andthough it is small, I really love it. What I like most about it, however, must be the unique CTF experience. With the flags being virtually on top of each other, I love trying to get past the enemy team, either jumping off walls or rushing up ramps with the flag. @GoldRock Over a year ago, I would have said Massacre, but the change in the positions of the flags (and the fact that another change meant that only Third Lieutenants and above could play it!) ruined it for me. In fact, the rank requirements for my favourite map, Combe, had also been changed to Third Lieutenant, so I had to suffer for quite a long time playing in the countless Silence CTFs until the rank requirements were altered once more. Anyway, as I said, Combe is currently my favourite map. Unlike more popular maps like Silence, it can be played in both CTF and TDM modes with the gameplay remaining interesting. And unusually for such a small map, Shafts and Railguns can dominate battles as much as any short range weapon (especially Railguns, since they’re so awesome). In fact, all weapons can dominate in Combe if used with skill. Basically, as it’s an all-rounded map, and since it’s not annoyingly big (I like nice scenery, but I prefer all-out action rather than getting lost all the time), it’s my favourite out of the lot. I’m glad to see that Combe has made a comeback recently, and hope it’s here to stay. @MizARee My favorite map is Silence. On this map you can use any weapon you want as there are good spots for both the long range and short range weapons. Doesn't matter if you are on the red team or the blue team. CTF is what I always play and getting the flag on either side take a different action all together. If on blue you really need to work getting it up the short or long ramp to where your team is waiting. On the red side, getting to the top is your struggle, but once there you again head towards the short or long ramp where some teammates shoudl be waint to help. Just makes the game more interesting to play on each side to notice the difference. And me? I've played a battle in pretty much every single map in Tanki. Some of the maps I have enjoyed most are Berlin, Combe, Crash, Fort Knox 2 (Now known as just Fort Knox) Hill, Pass, duels in Sandal, and Subway. One of the most enjoyable experiences was playing in Crash in the test server, when it was just grey. Using Hornet/Thunder and constantly drugging, and shooting anything that moved was a lot of fun, especially as I was at the lower ranks and hadn't experienced this before. But the one I have the fondest memories of, and enjoyed the most, especially at lower ranks is Fort Knox 2. I have fought many battles there, and thoroughly enjoy the map. ~Lham~ -
Review [Issue 10] All about April Fools Day
Lhamster replied to Lhamster in [Issue 10] All about April Fools Day Newspaper Archive
Aprils Fools day is an unofficial holiday celebrated on April 1st in many countries. It's not a national holiday, so people don't get a day off work, but it is a day to play pranks and practical jokes! History No-one is really sure about the origin of April Fools day, but the first mention of it is in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, written in 1392. One explanation is that when January 1st became New Years Day in the late 16th Century, those who continued to celebrate it on the previous date of March 25th were called fools and made fun of by those who celebrated it on January 1st. However, there is no historical evidence for this, and it doesn't take into account earlier references to it, so we are still unsure to its origin. In Britain and other countries, the joking is supposed to end at 12 noon, but this practice doesn't appear to be happening in recent years. How it's celebrated April Fool's Day is celebrated in different ways in different countries. In many countries, the media, such as newspapers and TV stations will take part and publish fake stories. In France, the tradition is to try and put a paper fish on someone’s back without being noticed. This is known as poisson d'avril or "April's fish". In Scotland, April Fools' Day is traditionally known as Hunt the Gowk Day ("gowk" is Scots for a cuckoo or a foolish person) although this name isn't used much any more. The traditional prank is to ask someone to deliver a sealed message requesting help of some sort. In fact, the message reads "Dinna laugh, dinna smile. Hunt the gowk another mile". The person it's sent to will say, once they have read the letter, that they can only help if they gets another person to help. They then send the messenger to that person, but with the same message, and the victim of the prank is sent on a wild goose chase. When someone has been fooled in Sweden, to tell them that it was a joke, the person who did the prank says "April April din dumma sill, jag kan lura dig vart jag vill", meaning “April, April, you stupid herring, I can fool you to wherever I want"! In the Swedish Media, most news outlets will publish a false story and for newspapers this will usually be an article on the front page but not the main headline. So have fun playing 'Guess the fake story'! In Iran the day to play jokes on each other falls on the 13th day of the Persian new year, which is either on April 1st or April 2nd. This day, celebrated as far back as 536 BC, is called Sizdah Bedar and is the oldest prank tradition in the world still alive today. This has led many to believe that April Fools' Day has its origins in this tradition. In Spain, and Spanish speaking countries, historically the Medieval Feast of Fools is on the 28th of December and is also called the "Day of the Holy Innocents". The phase said when a prank has been played is "Inocente palomita que te dejaste engañar" which means "You innocent little dove that let yourself be fooled" which is much nicer than calling someone a stupid herring! Also, the Romans held the festival of Hilaria on March 25th where all sorts of games and pranks happened, mainly masquerading as people and imitating them. Famous Pranks Panorama's Spaghetti hoax One of the most famous hoaxes was done by the BBC's Panorama program in 1957. It showed a 3 minute film about spaghetti harvest in southern Switzerland. The clip included details such as: “The success of the crop was attributed both to an unusually mild winter and to the virtual disappearance of the spaghetti weevil.” The show's highly respected host, Richard Dimbleby, discussed the details of the spaghetti crop as the film showed a Swiss family pulling pasta off spaghetti trees and placing it into baskets. The show ended saying: "For those who love this dish, there's nothing like real, home-grown spaghetti." Lots of people were taken in, and the BBC's response to the phone calls it was getting about growing spaghetti trees was: "Place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best." This prank is believed to be the first time television was used to stage an April Fool's Day hoax. The Guardian's San Serriffe hoax In 1977, The Guardian, a British newspaper, published a special report about San Serriffe, a small republic in the Indian Ocean made up of several semi-colon-shaped islands. Of course, it didn't exist, and the hoax had a typographical twist, as details about the island pointed to printer's terminology. These details included that San Serriffe consisted of two primary islands, Upper Caisse and Lower Caisse. The capital, Bodoni, was located in the center of the larger island, Upper Caisse. The smaller island, Lower Caisse, had a forested area, the Woj of Type, which was home of San Serriffe's national bird, the Kwote. Again, many people were taken in, and many people phoned up the Guardian wanting to know more. This hoax is thought to have inspired the British Media to do many April Fool's Day jokes in the years since. The Left Handed Burger In 1998, Burger King published large advertisements in USA Today saying that they had a new item for their menu's, a "Left-Handed Whopper", for the 32 million left handed Americans. It had the same ingredients, but it had "all condiments rotated 180 degrees, thereby redistributing the weight of the sandwich so that the bulk of the condiments will skew to the left, thereby reducing the amount of lettuce and other toppings from spilling out the right side of the burger." The advertisement also said that it was only currently available in the US but was considering plans to put it in other countries with large left handed populations. The next day, Burger King revealed it was a hoax, but thousands of people had gone into Burger King and for the new burger. People also asked to make sure they had their right handed version. So I hope you now know a bit more about April Fools Day, and maybe you'll avoid being an April Fool now you know what might be coming! Happy Pranking! ~Lham~ -

I drug for fun, and don't really care about crystals, so I'll happily drug for small funds. I also have a lot of drugs so I can afford to, however I have only ever bought a few 100 drugs, when I have had leftover crystals at sales. The last time I bought some was September. I just simply save up my DB.

They are pretty good, not my first choice to listen to, but when they are played, I don't mind.

Pretty sure reporters don't have them, apart from as part of mod powers in the press section.
