When you choose to create a private battle, then that battle is not visible to anyone except for the players whom you give the battle link. This way you can avoid unwanted players to join the battle. It is mostly used by clans, teams for there training sessions where only the clan/team members know the link to the battle and no other player can join and sabotage there training. Remember, if you post the link in the chat lobby then it is no more private, as everyone has the battle link and therefore they can join as well. Hope I was able to answer your question.
