MMS is the final product of 20 moths of creating absolutely CRAP! Congratulations on wasted time and money. MMS is what makes the new TO real experience. Again, excellent waste of resources. You claim that all upgrades for the past two years revolve around MMS, I say this is a pile of that stinks to high heavens. MMS is most definitely a game changing "upgrade" to TO. Now that the game is finally what the TO wants it to be, it is time to start planning the funeral. MMS does not solve issues, it tries to go around them but fails miserably. The best improvement that you can make to MMS is to bury it somewhere deep in to the earth next to the used uranium pellets from the nuclear reactors. And whoever made the decision to force this upon us can be buried right next door. I could not have succeeded killing TO as bad as you did no matter how hard I tried. If it takes 20 months to create a pile, it is still no matter how much you try to polish it. It still stinks.

This is getting tiring and frustrating. We have been complaining about different flaws and shortcomings of the missMM for over a week now. What has changed? Not much. It is still a pile of TURD as someone above so well put it. It stinks to high heavens and I am not getting used to the sight or the smell. There are players who like MM. That is perfectly allright. But just because you like it does not mean that we have to like it too. Some of us really hate the loss of control and sociality of the game play. We do not want some flawed algorithm to decide how we play, we want to have the control to ourselves. Yes, i did sometimes spend a lot of time to find a battle that suits me, but I was doing something during that time. Excercising my will to choose my battles. And when I found a good battle, I played it for several times even when some players changed. Made friends, had battle chats etc. Not anymore. TO has become an arcade with too long wait times. So, looking for your friends in battles is no longer required, I predict that the friends list will be removed as a feature since it no longer serves any purpose. We are here not to make friends, we are here to put more money to pockets of the owners of TO. So I urge anyone that does not like what the devs and the managers have done to TO to vote with your wallets and stop paying for this game. They have lost our trust by their actions and now it is time to pay the price.

So, yet another dream for druggers and specially buyer-druggers. Overdrive already is upsetting the gaming immensly and instead of fixing or removing that, the devs introduce another drug-related "improvement"? You got to be out of your minds! TO is again taking a huge step towards P2W game. I am going through withdrawal but eventually it will pass.

Viking4s, please correct me if I'm wrong on this: the matchmaking system was introduced because of the mobile version of this game. Mobile players most likely expect a quick action battles with short wait times etc. Like an arcade mode of TO. Nothing wrong with that. Except why all of us need to suffer because you introduce another way of playing? While bowing to one direction, you unintentionally, or worse yet, intentionally show your chockolate starfish to the other direction, this time to computer players. There have been mentioned so many things that are just plain wrong or downright ty in MM that I lost count. Like I said before, the technical side of MM will be made better over time, but it does not take away the fact that MM is just so wrong. You have shown before that you do not give a towards our opinion, so why start now? You say that this upgrade is good for the game and for sake it will be so no matter how many of us tell you the exact opposite. You act as dictators who's power over us is like god-given. We mean nothing to you, expect when we shovel money to you. (Kind of nice to swear on the posts, this way the mods have to read the posts! And no, I will not stop swearing even if you every time ask me very politely to do so. I know there are minors here, but believe me, they know so much harsher language that what I am using here that they could give us lessons in swearing.)

So what happens with legacy protection modules that have protection for four different turrets? I did pay money for the crystals to be able to afford the paint back in the day when paints and protection were bundled up.
-
There is over 300 pages about the matchmaking system on EN and RU forums, at least 80 % of the posts have something negative to say about MM in EN. Since I do not speak russian, I cannot make any claims for RU forum, but what I have read on the thread about MM, the comments there are a lot worse. So, how'bout making the MM optional?
-
Good analysis and insight. I may have to turn my keyboard from hate to strong dislike and continue the discussion. Here's my two pennies woth of opinions: 1. Make MM optional. There was the Battle -button already. I have no idea how much this was used, but I did not use it at all. Maybe I should've given it a go but I didn't. Incorporate MM with Battle -button and maybe add a small incentive to the users. Leave us the freedom of finding our own battles if we want to. This way, if we enter a crappy game, it's our own fault. I am not against matchmaking as such (I may have sounded like that previously, my bad), but what I am against is forcing it on us. Sometimes it's good to enter a completely random game to see how I do and maybe I might learn something, make new friends etc. 2. The social aspect of TO. This has been a very big thing among players. By forcing MM to all, this aspect of the game is ruined almost completely. The group -function does not cover the loss, since it is very limited compared to friends list. Again, making MM optional, you brign back one very big lure of TO. I enjoyed looking for friends in the battles and surprising them by either joining their side or the opposite side. Also sometimes answered to the call of friends to battles. Again, fun. The fun part of TO has suffered a mortal blow by enforcing MM to everyone. 3. The bugs, lags etc. of MM will eventually be ironed out, I have no doubt about that. Creating MM for TO must not have been an easy task and when the system finally works, it will be ok. But this is just the technical side of TO. What MM does to the overall experience of TO is something completely different. Predicting human behavior is difficult at best, but there are some basics. One thing that really stands out in this upgrade is that it very much limits the freedom of players to choose how, what and with whom they play. You do not have to be a genius to have some sort of idea what this could do to the community of players. 4. The direction this forced MM introduced is taking TO is towards faster gameplay at the expense of the social aspect. MM with shortened battles is taking a lot of the fun-factor of TO. This is especially true since MM now quite often throws players to games with not much time left on the clock. Also the feature that you cannot continue the battle that just ended removes the social aspect and takes the game again towards an arcade-type, quick action game that might be fun for a short time but does not give room to long-term enjoyment and development.

So, it looks like this thread has actually turned from criticizing matchmaking system to criticizing they way TO is developed. Well, it's about time I say. The arrogance of the devs and whoever is in the chain of either demanding or implementing these changes over the period of two years is blatantly obvious to anyone beyond the brain capacity of a snail. I do not know if this is a cultural thing, individual personality thing or just plain stupidity, but something needs to happen. Like it has been said somewhere earlier, TO exists because of the players and their money. No players, no money, no jobs. Eventually that will dawn to someone in the TO management, but it looks like they are already a year or two late. Unless, there is a hidden agenda behind all this to slowly kill TO and eventually shut it down completely, but why take such a long and difficult route. Just call it quits and shut down the servers. It is as easy as that. Any enterprise has one primary function and that is to make money. If a company does not make enough money to justify its existence, it will go bankrubt. Simple economics. TO has income from a few sources, one of them is us, the players. Some of us pay money to TO, I have done that on occasion for two reasons: 1. to enhance my garage and 2. out of respect for the employees to TO. Back in the day you did a good job with the game and I wanted to put in my two cents. Now, the respect is gone because of your actions. I stated above to start boycotting TO and I urge others to join in. Together we stand and it could well be that together we fall. From now on, I will not spend a dime on TO and will not allow my kids to do that either (since I will pay for them anyway). Also I state that I will not play TO, but will spend my time here on the forum spreading the message. It would not surprise me if I will be banned or even my account removed because of this, but frankly I do not care anymore. I am feeling angry, pissed of, really mad and even betrayed and i have no more symphaty towards the mods, devs, community managers etc. You dug your own hole, now it is time to jump into it.
-
Well put. It is time to vote with our wallets and stop paying TO a dime. I call for a total payment boycott on TO until they remove this crappy downgrade.
-
So, there it is. No matter how much we complain and criticise, this upgrade (like so many predecessors) will not go away. I thank you for your honesty. This is a sad day for me, it is the end of my TO career. You have seriously messed up this game and the devs or you mods do not have the backbone to say that this was a failure. You insist that this is a good thing, where in reality of us players this is just a huge pile of cow dung. I repeat myself again: you mods and especially the devs show such arrogant attitude towards players that it is just unbelievable. Demons, begone.
-
Now that I am not actively playing anymore, I have time to hang here and complain about bad updates, rebalances etc. The fact is that I care about TO, since I have been playing it a long time, but I hate how the devs are ruining what made TO stand out from the mass of on-line games. The variety of gameplay, difference in tactics with maps, hulls, weapons etc. The variety once offered has been sacrificed on the great altar of "game balance". In other words, removing variables or limiting them the devs just make life easier for them. Soon we'll have just one map and hulls that look different but share the stats.
-
Remove Magnum from the turret list, it has ruined TO.
-
This is it. I am done. The recent downgrades are just a bunch of hurdles. I have no idea what you have been smoking, but this is the cherry on the cake. Go blow a nuke or something useful, but leave TO alone from your "great upgrades". You ruined this game utterly and completely, makes me wonder if you really want to keep your jobs or are you all just waiting for the company to go bankrubt. This sh!t you keep shoveling down our throats seems like you are willingly letting this game go down the drain. Well, let me congratulate you, you are hugely succesfull in this.
-
There is a load of criticism in this chain, some constructive, some not. Some downright ugly. I've read through this chain and I have to say that most comments on this chain can be put into a few categories. Get rid of MM completely or make it optional. This is the biggest complain. Together with this, there is the loss of freedom and choise. Problems with MM. Imbalanced teams, long wait times to enter battles, all kinds of bugs related to MM. Social aspect of TO. MM just destroys this. Even with the group function, is is but a shadow of the former TO community. This goes hand-in-hand with point 1. Players declaring they will leave TO if MM is not removed or made optional. Some of it its just plain frustration but most of them will leave eventually. Should wake the devs and management up. So, there is a ton on criticism towards this change in TO if you just go through the messages. Yes, you mods need to keep a cool head, but then again, you are on the side of TO and I am not expecting any negative criticism on your part to any changes to TO. Keeping a cool head does not mean that you cannot have an opinion on things though. You say you weight pros and cons, but so far the lists I have seen are not addressing the complaints raised here. Social and community aspects have not been shown to be weighted at all and this is a HUGE MISTAKE! Several other aspects raised in this thread have also not shown up on any lists. One big one is the freedom of choices with the old TO. By removing the freedom, the devs raise themselves way above the players and claim they know better what we want and need. This is plain ignorance, arrogance and I-don't-give-a-horses-fart kind of thinking. Not that his is the first time. By the things changed in the past two years and by the rate players are leaving, I think there is some kind of panic in the management of TO and that has brought a number of very stupid changes that are thougth to attract new players or keep existing ones but have failed miserably. I have been paying for a few accounts (me and my kids), but during the past year and a half mainly because all the downgrades that have been introduced, we have not spend a dime. For my part, I have to say that I now spend a lot less time with TO than one or two years ago and that is solely because of the constant changes for the worse. I sincerely hope that you can get the amount of players up and TO alive, because it has been an interesting and fun game. Emphasis on the past tense.
-
So far, 84 pages of comments on this topic in less than two days and majority is negative. Must be some kind of record! Should start ringing some bells on the heads of the devs or their managers that maybe, just maybe this was a mistake.
-
Make MM optional. I do not criticize the function of MM, I am criticizing the fact that it gets jammed up our throats or. It removes a lot of freedom over your own game play, which I personally enjoy quite a lot. There are maps I like and dislike, there are maps more suitable for different weapons than others. Let me be the one making the decisions, not some invisible algorithm I have no control over. There was a comment way back saying that it's actually good to force players out of their comfort zones to be better players overall, but forcing this causes a lot of unnecessary stress and plain frustration. TO is only a game for us and we expect it to be fun. Sometimes challenging, but still fun. The devs have removed a huge chunk of fun out of TO with this downgrade in freedom.

Since I have rail, that makes me a camper? WTH??? Have you played against me ever? Or are you just random psychic who can see everything with eyes closed. It just happens that I like playing with rail and I have a rather active playing style, going for enemy bases to create havoc etc. I used to play also shaft, but not anymore. Rail is more fun. By the nature of rail, I have to hide to reload, doing that out in the open would be just plain stupid dont't you think? But I bet you rather have me as a sitting duck in the middle of nowhere to reload so you can come up and freeze/burn/whatever me. Thanks also for calling us liars btw, that is really friendly and mature. Didi it ever dawn to you that ppl are complaining not because they want K/D to rise but because the current system does not allow to use the playing style they have learned and like? It used to be one of the charms of TO to have really variable game play, where you have to duck the shafts and really dig them out, even if playing shaft myself. It just might be also that rail-users are really experienced with the turret and can use it effectively where as someone with flame or twins just uses spray and pray tactics.

You missed my point almost completely, congratulations. I never said I want the old system back. My point is on how the devs try to upgrade the game when they think they know the best, but there has been numerous occasions that they did not. The unpredictable part of the game mechanics is the players and their behavior. Like the example of the crystal boxes. The old system was kind of ok, no big faults. The devs tried to upgrade it, but made the gameplay actually a lot worse because of the crystal drop zone campers. Since the crystal boxes were quite soon removed completely instead of reverting back to the old system hints to me that either the whole thing was just an excuse to remove the cystal boxes completely (wich I doubt) or just plain annoyance/whine/rage-quit to the players behavior. The original post in this thread had to do with why the crystal boxes were removed, but the post lacked a lot of details. I gave you the details since I remember the incident. I also remember the gameplay and I am not sad that the cystal boxes were removed. But for someone who was not a good player at the time probably was sad to see the boxes go, since that player could not win matches for whatever reason. Just to give you an example that most of the upgrades have positive and negative sides. Most probably the devs think about these and weight the risks etc. (or at least they should), but not all reactions can be anticipated Back to the topic of this thread, the removal of "Create" -button and forcing players to buy PRO-pass. In my opinion this upgrade sucks big time. Previously on this thread there was a claim that this was done to make things less complex for noobs, but I think this was just a truckload of you-know-what. If and when a new player buys his first pro-pass, there is nothing but complexity compared to the Battle-button. Even when browsing through all the battles I now have to check for several more parameters when I decide if it is a battle I want to join or not. Map, duration, team member ranks, distribution of xp, supplies/no supplies, drops/no drops etc. Now I have to jump from server to server to find the battles I like a lot more than I had to before the upgrade. Just more complexity. All in all, I have played a lot less since this upgrade and will not spend more real money on the game. Your loss, TO.
-
The original 1 or 10 drystal boxes were not the problem. The camping on crystal box sites started for the most part when there was, guess what, an update! This particular update changed the way the regular crystal boxes were dropped. Before, all boxes were 10 crystals. After, the boxes were anyting between 1 and 100. This was a disaster for the gameplay. What the devs did? Did they return the boxes of 10? Noooo, they decided to remove the boxes completely and told us that the value will be added to the game fund. So, instead of admitting a mistake, devs covered up their own behinds and chagned a big part of the game mechanics. Previously, everyone had a chance to collect a few extra crystals despite the placement at the end of the round. After the "upgrade", only the best were collecting the benefits. Fair? No. Sensible? Not really. Rage-quit? Almost. The devs claim they know all about the game mechanics and probably so. But if they claim to know how players will react to all the changes in the game, they should get their heads checked.

This needs to end. The useless, game-changing upgrades. Downgrades, I say. A lot of the upgrades are steering TO towards spending real money to play, no matter what admins thell here on the forum. I have played a lot less since the last big rebalance and the main reason is that the balance was changed way too much. I have been around for quite some time and have seen a lot of upgrades. Some of them good, some of them bad but mostly in between. But this? You may be able to attract some new players, but you end up loosing a lot of old players. Players like me, who are just fed up with the constant upgrades, changes and nerfs. All these require players to re-learn the tactics again and again and after a few times, it just gets too annoying and time consuming. Yes, you the devs have the power to change the game anyway you like, but continue this and you will have a dying game in your hands. That can create a little panic when you realize that since the amount of players is going down, there income starts to diminish and that means that people will get fired. And that can cause even more panic to save what is left of the game with some real drastic actions that could be the death blow to everything. I sincerely hope this does not come to pass, but you have to really consider the future upgrades. There has been too many big upgrades recently.

Just out of a battle. My trusty, stable Viking handles now like a flimsy Hornet. Wasps turn upside down way too easy, I flipped several in just one battle. This is not any kind of rebalance, this is just bad judgement. The hulls have been made unstable before and it did not take long for the devs to admit mistake and make the hulls more stable again. But why repeat the same mistake again? On the positive side, there are now plenty of new mistakes too, so this is mostly not just repetition.
-
From the brief experience with the "re-balance" I've so far had, I have to say that nerfing most of the turrets was just plaing wrong. I really have to wonder what the devs are really after, because this update is not rebalance or balancing, it is ruining the uniqueness of the most turrets. Now firebird and freeze are op, I mean really OP compared to the previous versions. At the same time nerfing most of the long-range turrets takes away the edge agains short to mid-range turrets. Goodby rail and shaft. Overall, trying to match the turrets in damage or damage/second just takes away the diffenrence of the turrets and the skills it took to be effective. Now, the turrets are so similar that it just makes the game boring. Only difference starts to be the color and the shape of the projectile/cone. Instead of creatin any sort of rebalance, you have forced us, the players and the buyers, to re-learn all our tactics and skills. This is frustrating to say the least. This alone will be good enough cause for plenty of players to just quit playing. Shortening the smart cooldowns increases druggers, this is again bad. There is already enough druggers and now you just add to the problem. Unless what you really want is more real money spent on crystals spent on supplies. Which I would really much think that was not the driving force behind the rebalance, but I can't help but wonder. The seeds of doubt have been planted. I JUST HAD TO SHOOT A WASP THREE TIMES WITH MY 30/50 M1 RAIL!!!! What the hell???? The biggest nerf was rail? Even that you decreased the reload time, this is just not good. The old rail required a lot of skill to be used, now it is just like a slow smoky without the crit. And speaking of crit, why nerf that too? This "rebalance" was just bad and plain wrong. Yours sincerely, Soon to be ex-player.

My humble opinion about this new update in chat is that it is not altogether a good thing. There has already been comments about the safety of the younger players, so I am not going to repeat them. Just saying that a best solution would be a choice between private private messages and puplic private discussions. Now it is more difficult to have more than two private conversations on. Also the chat lobby is now almost boring, there is not that much exchange of ideas, opinios etc flowing. It is mostly just "hi" etc. and of course the phising attempts.
-
Thank you for reintroducing the battle type buttons, makes the hunt for the correct fight so much easier. Good thing is also all the new information regarding the battles. Good updates!

Vulcan seems to get a lot of approvals, not bad name and reflects the character of the new gun. Spitfire is also high on the poll. Other names that come to mind: Can opener (like the gun in A10A thunderbolt) Annihilator Judge Spiritus Sanctus (just for the hell of it!) BB-gun (why always so serious?) Sprinkler, 'cause it sprinkles bullets your way. Hail/hailstorm Ripper / Shredder Leadtornado or just Tornado Burst Belch Nailer (some1 nailed this bfore?) Scythe Havoc Pyromaniac Decimator Eraser And please add tracers to this gun. Different colors for different mods.
