I think the reason they removed the Hall of Fame was because people were making accounts with funny names and earned 0xp on them. That would mean that they would al be tied at the bottom and it might be glitchy.

Buying is obviously the quickest way to earn Crystals, but I don't do that. I join random battles with high ranks to check for Gold Boxes. I think I got about 70 something Gold Boxes so far! :P

I am also annoyed by the team kick. I was in the battle with 500+ XP and was first place until I was kicked out because somebody else wanted to be first and didn't want me to get a lot of crystals. (By the way, mods, you shouldn't ban me; I have the same complaint and I'm a witness!)

Usually, people target Isidas first, but I stay behind the tank I heal and use it as a shield. Even with Isida, my DL is higher than average.
