Glad to hear that my own journey has assisted you on your own. To be honest, I've never been a fan of Dictator. I won't refute its utility, given that it's quite good, in other hands. However, the shape, for me, is a major deterrent. I left Hunter at M1 because I knew I was going to skip M2 to buy Hunter M3 later on. Therefore, I can only imagine how well M2 will do, which won't help you at all. I'd suggest looking for more opinions regarding that.

It sounds interesting. I'll be upgrading this to M3 along with the Minigun as soon as I can to get a decent taster of what it's like.

It's fair to say this community has people that capture gold boxes like it's child's play; I've contacted six of them, namely @a7x_Pedro48, @lukey0, @shayanshiny, @jiangreo,@I.EatMyBullets and @LiquidGold to achieve some sort of insight. Greetings, you six! Before I start, thank you for agreeing to partake in this interview. Now, let's start with the big numbers; do you have an idea of how many gold boxes you've caught in total? a7x_Pedro48: Thank you for interviewing me, it's an honor. I took around 334 Golds. In two years and a half. I caught 14 different type of Golds. Starting with the 100 crystals Gold, to the 1000. I caught 10 Golds during GamesCom for example, in 4 days. It was a Gold of 2000 crystals, to celebrate the presence of Tanki at GamesCom. I also got 2 Golds during the celebration for the V-Log, in the Red Alert map. I've been able to capture 7 golds in one day. lukey0: Well thankyou for inviting to this interview. Yes, I do know how many gold boxes I have caught over the past three years of playing. I have caught 260. The number of gold boxes I've caught is always at the top of my post. I have also caught many different types of gold boxes ranging from the first old graphic designed gold to the latest 2014 Halloween one. I do not have a precise number of how many golds I caught, I have started taking screenshots a few months after the rebalance and videos after the update 148. I have caught around 200-300 gold boxes probably (I’m too lazy to count all of the gold pics/video in my computer, moreover I don’t remember how many I’ve caught before the rebalance I.EatMyBullets: Hi, I think I've caught around 300 in my tanki career. LiquidGold: Yes I have caught 201 on this tank and another 24 on my 3rd LT tank PhantomFlanFlinger Wow, rather sizable numbers! I've only caught around 20-25 in my whole career! Moving on; as a result of the new update, it means a player generally only has enough time to activate one supply when the siren sounds; which do you commonly pick, if any, and why? a7x_Pedro48: In fact, you can activate 2 supplies. If you cativate Armor right on the alarm, you can activate a Nitro before the Gold is falling. But at that time, there is no need. Why activating Nitro when Gold is about to fall? What I do when the alarm starts is looking around for a few seconds, see if I can pick-up a supplie. Then I activate Armor or Nitro. If I am on low HP, I self destruct, or force others to kill me. lukey0: I tend to pick double armour over the rest of the supplies. I do it so that if you suffer damage it won't be as must as if you didn't have it on. If there are any pick-ups near by I try to get them, I do that so I can get two or sometimes three supplies on at once. Also if you get double armour on right as the alarm sounds you might be lucky enough to also get nitro on. shayanshiny: I usually use double armor when goldbox falling and also Speed if it is dropping far away from me.Also most of the players are using Double armor when gold drops,It is not necessary to use Speed If the gold is dropping near you or in small maps.In this new update whenever gold is falling I never self-destruct even if my health is very low except in small maps because in big maps if you will self-destruct you will miss the chance for getting goldbox,So it is better not to self-destruct.I first use double armor when my life is low,After that i instantly use Repair kit and if i get chance I also use Speed. jiangreo: I activate Double armor most of the time (security first), sometimes if I have a strong tank (such as Titan or Dictator+Clay ) I activate nitro first to check as many spots as possible. Since there are only 20 seconds between the siren and the drop of the gold box it’s better not to self-destruct, if I have less than 2/3 of HP left I activate double armor + first aid (I make sure to press armor before aid, otherwise if I activate aid first the cooldown will block the armor) I.EatMyBullets: it depends on the map and combo, I usually have hornet/wasp equipped so if the map is big I use n20, if its small then double armor. LiquidGold: It depends on the map but usually I activate Double Armour as its essential to take the flack from the other tankers who run like a pack of wolves to your spot gnashing their teeth as they go, get it right and you can still active first aid. Quite enthralling! Do you possess a technique for catching gold boxes? Or is serendipity generally on your side? a7x_Pedro48: Actually yes. I try to be discreet ^^. I don't shot other players because I don't want them to annoy me. Then, I try to find the mark on the ground. I try to cover a lot of zones. And if I don't find the mark, I stop. And I look the sky, or try to find a zone where there are a lot of tanks fighting each other. When I see the Gold falling, I run to the spot. lukey0: I had a feeling this question would be asked. Well after the update predictable drops, its more about luck then skill unless you find the marker. One of my techniques now is to drive around the map like a headless chicken trying to find the marker. Another technique is to remember on maps you frequently play on where the gold box drops, if you know a place where it falls go there first. The gold box still commonly falls somewhere in the middle of the map. The last technique is only if you have time. That is if there is a building you can get onto and the marker is right next to the building get on top of the building or ramp or whatever it is. Height can play the role of you getting the gold box or not. shayanshiny: When ever gold drops I don't go for finding the spot Because In this new update gold fall from higher height and this give most of the players the chance for getting the gold.There is also 1 trick to find the golds spot,when someone found the spot where gold will drop He/She will stand near the spot so the other player will find the same spot He/She will also stand near the spot and so on.If most players are standing there it means gold will drop there.After that I hide behind the building near the spot and I start looking in the sky and when gold fall I rush to the gold and get it. jiangreo: I try to find the gold sign before that the gold appears. If I fail to find the spot and I feel that 20 seconds has already passed I check the surrounding/sky to see the gold and find the place. Sometimes in DM, when I just want to catch a gold in a specific map for my montages, I stay on pause mode and just wait for the sound of the gold I.EatMyBullets: If I'm using medium or heavy hull (mainly dictator) then I push players to get gold, if I'm using a light hull then i jump on other tanks. LiquidGold: I am mostly playing pro battles with all supplies off so you have to take the right paint and be very precise about when to charge in for the box, if you commit to the right spot to early you will be fragged long before you get a chance to take it hang back a bit or hide a little way away from the spot. Ofcourse luck plays its' part in every gold box, my most memorable gold box, I had literally just entered a battle on sandbox, as I spawned a gold box fell right next to me, I took it, and was in battle for a whole ten seconds. Free gold not even 1 shot fired now that's pure luck. Great! Now, personally, a lot of my 20-25 gold boxes have been caught in Island; what about you? Which maps do you frequently take gold boxes in? a7x_Pedro48: Funny! I caught a Gold in Island yesterday. I got only 5 Golds in this very map. I caught around 65 Golds in Silence. This is my number one map. But most of them where in 2013, or early 2014. I don't play to much in that map now. I got 58 Golds in Polygon, and 33 in Sandbox. I play a lot in those maps now. I also got 48 in Iran. And some maps like Stadium, Rio, Arena where I got 10-15 Golds. lukey0: The maps which I have taken the most gold boxes in are Silence, Iran, Polygon and Sandbox. Most of my catches in Silence were before "Gold box will be dropped soon" as there were only two places it fell. Before predictable drops Iran and Polygon were really easy maps to get gold in. Now there's about double the amount of possible locations. Lastly Sandbox is another easy map to get gold's in now, and along with most of the other 'small' maps. That's because there is a very little amount of possible drop zones. shayanshiny: I caught most of the goldbox in Sandbox,Stadium and Polygon in this maps I caught more than 50+ goldbox and in Silence maybe I caught 30+ goldbox ,The easiest way to take goldbox is Stadium and Sandbox in my option.The most number of golds that I got in 1 day are 8,And I got all of this 8 golds in Red Alert. jiangreo: I don't have a specific map since I try to use a variety of maps for my gold box montages. I.EatMyBullets: I've taken goldboxes in many maps mainly silence, canyon(rip), sandbox and island. LiquidGold: A year or so ago I used to play lots of Dussledorf it was a great map for golds dropping in. In one of my battles there, on normal funds, 18 golds fell I took one and helped 11 other team mates get one; as I was on isida and also first in our team by 2000 points or so. Old silence (silence2) was my favourite map I must have taken 50 golds there, but now I'm mostly on Polygon in CP mode that my new favourite. Meh, Island's where it's at, k? And that's not because they're easier to obtain there, at all... Anyways, let's progress to a slight variation of the previous question - which combination have you taken the most gold boxes with? a7x_Pedro48: Hmm. With no doubt, it's Viking-Ricochet. I'm pretty sure I caught 150-180 Golds with Viking. But now, my favourite hull is Dictator. This hull is the best for Gold. Very good HP, fast, and quite heavy and tall. It is very good for Sandbox, Iran, Stadium, Polygon... But for Island, I prefer Titan. lukey0: This is definitely the easiest question so far, it's of course Dictator. This tank has always been a gold hunter's favorite. It's size, height and hit box (at the back) all give you a better chance of getting the gold box. It's heath is also a really big amount for it speed. shayanshiny: When I was at Captain I was always using Dictator M2 and I caught tons of gold with it and after that when I bought Hornet M3 I started playing with it and got more then 80+ golds,When I ranked to Field marshal I bought Hunter M3 and started playing with it, I caught Christmas,New years and May golds with Hunter.And at end when I ranked to Generalissimo I bought Dictator M3 and till now I'm playing with and it is become my favorite Hull and My favorite Turret is Ricochet Because It kills enemy faster.And the funny and weird thing is that I also bought Mammoth M3 and I caught zero (0) gold with it. jiangreo: Well, I’ve got most of my golds with hornet since my garage was pretty poor until I became a generalissimo (the 2 tanks I was using were Titan and hornet M2-3). Though, after that I got dictator M3, it used to become my main gold hunting hull, due to its height, speed, coolness. I.EatMyBullets: I can't remember , most likely titan freeze in canyon or wasp fire in island . LiquidGold: When I was a new player I played Isida Hornet 95% of the time at least half my total were taken on that combination, Now I split my time on hornet, viking, titan and mammy, mammy is the most difficult to catch golds on, and viking is now my top gold catching tank irrespective of gun. Ah, I see! Now, a recent update namely Predictable Drops has enabled us to find out the exact location of the gold boxes; are you a fan of this? Or did you prefer when the gold boxes were erratic? a7x_Pedro48: At first, I hated this. There were several steps in this update. At the beginning, Gold was falling 60 seconds after the alarm. All the players had the time to find the mark. everyone was killing each other. I was not fan of that. Then, it was worse. Gold was falling right after the alarm, it was total luck. Now, I think this is well balanced. In my opinion, you need mors skills than luck now. In small map (Island, Sandbox), the mark is easy to find, you can prepare yourself. In medium maps, like Polygon, if you don't find the mark, you can still have a chance to get Gold if you are smart. You have to cover as many zone as you can, and if you don't find the mark, just run in middle of the map, and be very careful. You will find the spot. Same for Stadium. Here is an example with a gif. I did not find the spot, in Polygon, but I got the Gold. But in map like Iran, you can spend all the time searching the spot, and you will miss the Gold. Map is too large, and Gold can literally fall in base. Anyway, with the 20 seconds update, everyone has now a fair chance. But not anybody can find the mark in time. So, If you found it, you have even a bigger chance to get the Gold, because there will be less tanks around. lukey0: I both like this update and don't like it. I like it better in smaller maps rather then bigger ones. I like it better in smaller maps because for example Island. Before the update there were three or four different drop points, so it was more like a guessing game in which point it will drop in. Now there is only one drop point so you know where it will fall and have a better chance at it. Bigger maps though, you could spent the whole twenty seconds trying to find the marker. Unlike before the update you could sit where two or three drop points are and still have a chance at it if it fell. shayanshiny: When predictable update came in the beginning the gold was very easier to take with heavy modification and it required skills to take the gold If we will use supplies it will get finish and we have to use it again so it required skills to take the gold, But I don't like this update at the beginning and after couple of experiment this update is well balanced now,Gold takes 20 seconds to drop on ground,In small maps it required skill to take the goldbox and in big maps it required both skill and luck to take the goldbox. jiangreo: Yes, I like the new system, the mark on the ground. I also love that now most of the golds appear high, which is awesome for gold box videos. However I dislike the fact that many spots has been added near flags, the gold box should be dropped between the 2 bases for fair chances. It’s pretty annoying when you see the notification “Gold Box will be dropped soon”, but you don’t even see the box and it ends up with “someone has taken the gold box” I.EatMyBullets: I like this because it gives a fair chance for evry1 to get the gold. LiquidGold: I quite like the update and the 20 seconds drop time, and its good that they change the drop points periodically,it makes it fairer so that all tanks have a chance to get gold. Interesting viewpoints! To finish up, do you think you're capable of reaching Gold Hunter of the Week? Or do you deem it impossible to achieve such greatness? a7x_Pedro48: Honestly, I don't think so. In a normal week, without any double funds, the Gold Hunter always gets around 25/30 Golds. That means 3/4 Golds per day, at the very least. I can't do that everyday. Gold Hunters play a lot. One other point, and let's be honest about this, I'm pretty sure that some Gold Hunters play Fire/Wasp to get Golds. Not all of them of course, I don't want to denigrate them all. lukey0: Anything is possible if you believe it is. I wouldn't deem it impossible for me to get 'Gold Hunter of the Week' but to get it I would have to put more time into playing Tanki. I imagine the tankers that achieve Gold Hunter of the Week would put a lot of time into playing Tanki and catching gold boxes. shayanshiny: Maybe Yes in the future,These days I don't play much but when I play I get many goldbox,I think gold hunters play whole days or they have more skills to get golds,probably I'll try to become gold Hunter of the week in the future. jiangreo: No, I’ll never try it, because I don’t have the time to play during all the week, and mostly because the prize doesn’t worth the effort: 100 drugs of each (I.don’t.care), the award could be better…like a special paint for a week, an avatar in the forum, lots of crystals… I.EatMyBullets: I can reach gold hunter of the week if I play a lot like I used to . LiquidGold: I will never get gold hunter of the week you have to play tanki 36 hours a day to get 50 golds in a week. People spend their time specifically waiting for golds and searching battles out by hopping from one to the next to ask "Did gold fall yet?", or just "Gold Bil?" if the answer comes back yes they leave the battle to join another one. If people ask, I always say yes 3-4 fell you missed them, as I don't want this type of player on my team, they don't care about the battle result only the gold as soon as it falls they will leave making you a person down and the team weaker. I play my battles to win If I get a gold great if not there's always going to be another chance. Just so you know I have missed 1000's of gold boxes in my tanki life time Awesome! Welcome to my second edition of Ask the Community - I went around and asked a whole new plethora of people a completely different question! The question in this month's issue is: Which paint do you deem as the ugliest and why? @prajwalkandel: In my view, i think paint Dirty is the most ugliest paint in the whole tanki. The name itself describe it and it looks worst in big hulls. I have that paint in my other account and it does not fit my style. Just realizing waste of crystal. : The ugliest and most displeasing paints are: Swash, Dirty, Lava, Savanna, Swamp, Holiday (the checkerboard), Mary, Roger, Rustle, Urban. In order from most ugly to less ugly. Swash, Lava, Savanna, Mary, Roger and Rustle are too bright and noisy (no pattern - just bright colour with a random texture). Dirty, Swamp and Urban are camouflage paints, meaning that their purpose is to blend in with the surroundings, so lets face it - a paint that blends in with dirt and foliage isn't going to be pretty. Holiday (when black and white) just looks like a missing texture, eww. Tanker's Day green paint was a special kind of ugly. It looked like sewage mixed in with baby puke and fertiliser... : Well in my opinion it is Loam. I find it very dull and depressing. When you see most of the paints it seems to have some life in it. I personally feel that Loam would make the tank and the tanker less enthusiastic. @kayitsiz: İ think, Hohloma is the ugliest paint in the game. This paint is an art, but it isn't realistic on hull. And it looks very old because this is a part of old arts. Far from away, it looks like only a big, ruined, black any vehicle. : In my view, i think paint Cedar is the most ugliest. it has an ugly color. they don't have style with any tanks. The best protection that's thunder by 32% and the other two the 5% of each. Is waste of crystal. @pizzaslad: In my opinion, Dragon is the ugliest, and most useless paint. It is surpassed by Moonwalker. Sure they have the same protections, but Moonwalker has a history behind it: it serves as a reminder. It is a rare sight, making it o so special. Dragon is simply phased out. Not to mention it's texture. A lizard tank? It looks like it is flaking away, or has mange @hellboy1234567: Needle - because its color is too dark and texture is dull @ruchi2000 Personally, I think Roger looks the ugliest. The reason it looks ugly is because of its unusual colours. The mixture of colours doesn't look nice, the green skulls in the paint looks boring. The paint has high protection against Twins but since the paint looks horrible I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it. Also, the skulls in the paint looks fairly squashed. Dark colours in the paint would give it a realistic scary look. @Reeco9: The first paint which comes to mind is the default Holiday paint. The black and white chequered design is simply an eyesore, which could be interpreted as a broken or missing texture. Fortunately for me, it's a rare sight now, although I could remember many Holiday users in the lower ranks. As for the other paints, I'm not a fan of Hohloma, with its dark black colour and strange gold patterns which don't seem to look 'right', or match with any other paints in the garage. I'm also going to mention Needle here as well.. as although, ironically, I use Needle myself for its protective values, I'd say it's rather ugly. Its repetitive texture seems to remind me of a pile of grass cuttings. : I think the ugliest paint is In Love. The main reason is the fact that I'm a male, so "pink" it's not my favourite colour, the second reason is that you can't notice the shape of hearts from an average distance, therefore it doesn't show what it represents. @aperaiderpistol: I deem the Dirty paint the ugliest. Why? I think that the pattern of the paint is incredibly unattractive and the brown colouring that goes with that just makes the paint seem less appealing to me. @ALEKSEJ0077: I would say the default Holiday. It is just too boring for tanki and the black and white pattern is just too painful to look at . I would also define needle as an ugly paint. Needle is simply just a grass paint. @ShootingStarz: Ugliest paint in my opinion? I think ... mhm, Flora. The reason I chose Flora is because, well.... let's be mature. It looks like manure. @DEMONEKxD: Loam - his paint does not match any of the combinations in the game. As for me paint the least useful of all the expensive paint in the game. Because: Poorly masks, Costs a lot and little use immunity. My personal opinion: Personally, I feel the ugliest paint is Safari - in my opinion, that's tackiness at its very best. It has its own special icon but it doesn't deserve it. The black and white texture looks horrible on just about every tank. On Tanki Online, there are stunning combinations, which, when equipped with decent-looking paints, can make for picturesque moments. However, Safari debases any combo to an eyesore AT BEST. Used my relatively M4 Shaft, made around 19 kills before dying, then I changed to Twins and stayed alive due to a solid Isida - we dominated.

I now see why people use BP instead of XP. I got flipped once via someone else and the rest of the flips are via mistakes I could make with Hornet. Not too hard to control. As for normal battles, I'm not quite sure if it suits my playing style; either way, it was worth the 164k I paid for it.
