  1. Players are complaining about getting nothing if they leave a battle early. My advice is AVOID LONG GAMES. Long games, games with high flag counts (50-100 flags), and games with no time clock are really just set-ups fro raiders. Play only SHORT games with a time clock of 30 minutes or less, and/or low flag counts (5-10). Anyone who enters a game with a 300 minute time clock is a fool. This has always been true, and I don't know why people do it.
  2. This is nothing new. The update didn't cause this. When players do this, just forget about flags and just cruise around going for kills. You'll end up with more points then them.
  3. Occasionally, teammates will try to prevent you from scoring. This is nothing new, and I doubt that this latest change has caused it. Sometimes they do this to get the flag themselves. This is bad teamwork. Sometimes, though, they don't want you to score so they can keep the game going longer. Some players will do this when their team is ahead in scoring. They want to prolong the game and earn more points and crystals. This is a strategy to build up the score, not bad teamwork. When this happens I suggest you just stop going for flags but cruise around and go for kills. Then, when the game ends and a new game begins, you can leave and get away from these teammates. That's what I do when this happens.
  4. Excellent change. Thanks to the developers for listening to the players. This is much better than the situation yesterday which had degenerated into desperate and chaotic crystal grabbing. The problem with crystals on the field is that some players will join a team and then just drive around grabbing crystals. Whether they do this just to get crystals, or they are acting as mults to help the opposing team, is irrelevant. Whatever the motivation, the effect is to undermine teamwork, which, to me is the best part of Tanki. It may sound naïve, but I think that when you design a game, you should design it to build positive social values. By placing all the crystals in the battle fund you are rewarding players who are working as a team to win the game. There will still be mults but they won't get nearly as many crystals as before.

    Predictable Drops are now live!

After two days of play, I can say with certainty that this update has profoundly changed Tanki, and not in a good way. I've been playing for two years and the dozens of games I have been in over the last two days bear no resemblance to Tanki in the past, This "new" Tanki game has degenerated into a brawl by crystal grabbers, with the big, heavy hulls dominating. No one is going for flags, no one is working together as a team. It's an "every man for himself" contest of pure greed. If this update is not removed, I won't be playing Tanki to much longer. As it is today, Tanki is a really stupid, boring game appealing to only the worst players.

    Predictable Drops are now live!

Predictable drops for gold boxes gives an advantage to the slow, large hulls which can survive the crowd of pushing and shooting players waiting for the gold box to drop. Light, fast hulls will be at a severe disadvantage. As a wasp driver, I will probably avoid gold box drops in the future as it is unlikely I will ever get one. I approve of all the other changes to supply drops.

    Vote for Cologne or Edinburgh

I am lagging in cologne. I asked the other players in chat and on other player reported the same problem,
  8. I just played another game and the supply boxes were working. There was a hacker in a game I played earlier, and I thought that could have been the cause. The new railgun and isida look very good. I am interested to see what you do with the freeze.
  9. I just played a game and the supplies boxes were not working correctly. I would drive over them but not get any supplies. Some worked, some did not.
  10. Maybe the Lt General was using a weak hull and gun because he was upgrading his primary equipment and didn't want to wait 24 hours to play. When I am upgrading (using MUs) I do this. I have an M1 hornet that I use and get killed all the time. It's not multing. Real mults can be spotted when they just sit around and don't shoot an enemy who passes right in front of them. They make a few kills (so it's not as obvious) and then do nothing except grab crystals.
  11. I also leave a game when there are too many players breaking the rules. Why waste your time fighting these people, when you could play a another game, with honest players? I love a really good game, when winning is based on skill & teamwork.
  12. I suggest avoiding LONG games and games with no time limits. Those are the games where this sort of behavior can do the most damage. Because of all the bad behavior I have seen, I won't play a game with no time clock running, and I choose short games (30 minutes or less). If you see a game requiring 100 flags to win, or a game with a three hour time limit, don't enter it. It will be full of mults, saboteurs, hackers, etc. Let them fight each other.
  13. I get angry with players who use drugs ALL THE TIME. It's Ok to use drugs at certain critical points a game: that's just good strategy. But there is no skill, and no honor, in using drugs all the time and just blasting through opponents. Any moron can do that.

    Let's Discuss Thunder!

I have an M3 Thunder but I never use it. At close range, you blow yourself up, which is a HUGE disadvantage.

    Let's Discuss Mammoth!

I don't see many players using this hull at the higher ranks. It's just too slow. The extra armor means nothing.

    Let's Discuss Freeze!

Freeze is a great weapon but it's weakness is that it is close range only. This requires a different approach to movement. You have to stay concealed as much as possible and avoid large open spaces.

    Let's discuss Wasp!

I advise upgrading the hull first. Your best "weapon" with the Wasp is it's speed. You can sneak up on other tanks and shoot them by surprise. Getting the first shot is more important than the power of your gun.

    power-leveling that bad?

I think what you are doing is just clever strategy, not illegal power leveling. I have also created some of the less popular maps because I am more familiar with them, which gives me an advantage.

    power-leveling that bad?

Players who use power leveling to gain rank are not developing their skills as much as players who play according to the rules. Thus, when they get to high rank they are weak players. I see many players at high ranks who can't even drive well...they keep bumping into walls, and they keep missing things when they shoot. They get low scores. I imagine the game isn't much fun for them. It is better to EARN your points in fair battles. I often seek games where I am playing against higher ranks because even though my score is lower, I learn more. Playing against higher ranks pushes you to develop skills faster. Skill gained from experience in real battles is worth more than an upgraded tank. When I learn a new skill, something I couldn't do before, I find that more satisfying than simply getting a higher rank. Finally, no one is impressed by your rank if you can't play very well.

    Let's Discuss Freeze!

Over time, I've become aware of the advantages of the short-range weapons of tanki: freeze, fire, and isida. Put any of these on a fast hull, a wasp or hornet, and you have a really formidable weapon.

    Let's Discuss Freeze!

Going in circles is difficult if you attack from the front. If you attack from the side or rear, it's easier. That's why if you use a freeze, you need a fast hull, a wasp or hornet. As for freeze vs fire, I prefer freeze because it slows down opponents. Even if they kill you this makes them vulnerable to your teammates.

    Let's Discuss Freeze!

I use an M3 freeze with an M3 wasp hull. Both have been micro-upgraded many times. This is the ideal configuration if you like to move rapidly around the battlefield like a fighter pilot and attack enemies at close range. Most of the time, I catch enemies by surprise from the side or behind and kill them before they can turn their turrets. If they are all drugged-up, this doesn't work, but I try to avoid druggers. I get killed a lot, especially by snipers as the wasp is easy to kill. But I score a lot of points because I make a lot of kills. I also pick up a LOT of crystals as I can get to them before anyone else. I used to like to capture flags and I was very good at it, but eventually I realized that you don't get very many points for capturing a flag compared to what it costs...you get killed many times with no points. Now I just cruise around the middle of the battlefield, or the "hot zone" as I call it, where all the action is. I kill, get killed, and pick up crystals. It's very intense. I don't understand snipers. Yes, you can score points but it's so BORING just sitting there waiting to shoot someone. I like to move around and "mix it up." I used to use a M3 thunder but I kept blowing myself up at close range. Other players know this weakness and close on you. Yes, freeze is short range only but this is not such a disadvantage as it might seem. I'm so fast with the M3 wasp that I can quickly close the range on tanks with long range guns, especially if I see them first, which I usually do. This is not the ideal configuration for all maps. Small confined maps favor bigger tanks. I prefer larger maps with more open territory like Kangur which is my favorite. Freeze is good in defense but only with a bigger hull. Also, you don't earn as many points guarding the flag, and you get NO crystals. I prefer to constantly attack, which earns more points, and more crystals. I only play flag games. I usually pick up TEN TIMES the amount of crystals that are awarded to me at the end of the game even if I am on the winning team, so I don't really care who "wins" the game by capturing the most flags. I am relatively indifferent to who wins. Using my strategy, I always get lots of points and lots of crystals. win or lose. Of course, I am helping my team "win" by killing so many enemies. It works to my advantage that everyone else is so focused on the flag. I am not. I am focused on killing & crystals only. I also get out of games if there are many druggers on the other team, I used to get mad at druggers and try to fight them, but now I just leave and look for another game with lower-ranking non-druggers. Then I can really score. You can't let your ego make you do dumb things. Avoid druggers. Let them fight each other. Also, stay off chat in battles. I have it disabled so I don't even see the chat. Final note: the M3 wasp is so fast (especially if you pick up a nitro) that you need a lot of practice controlling your tank. You'll run into a lot of walls, tip over, fly in the air and flip over, etc, until you get used to it. But when you do it's really cool to go flying past big drugged-up tanks so fast they can't react.

    Let's Discuss Supplies!

Players who buy drugs are paying for the rest of us to play for free. 50% of the time they are on your team.
