Ok we hereby announce gold boxes worth 50 000 crystals, 50% off on hulls, turrets, supplies, paints and Micro-Upgrades. Following which we will give 50 million crystals to a million lucky tankers. Have fun, people! As I said before, we celebrate anniversaries by date, not by issue

LOL I did consider dating, but I thought I'd leave something for a possible sequel. Yes, I'll include all this and more if at all I write a follow-up to this :)

Guide [Issue 50] Assisting the Flag-Carrier
TriNitroToIuene replied to TriNitroToIuene in Newspaper Archive
Yes! Hammer, especially on a Double Damage, can get rid of enemies very quickly in small maps where defenders are clustered together. Highly efficient, but I'd still prefer Firebird over it. OMG What reference :3 tell me I ro look it up ok -
Okay I'm gonna gift all the participants a badge now :P

Review [Issue 51] Beauty in Tanki - TNT's View
TriNitroToIuene replied to TriNitroToIuene in [Issue 51] Beauty in Tanki - TNT's View Newspaper Archive
It's been quite a long while since anyone's done a beauty in Tanki article - I guess the last guy to do it was S.C.Y.T.H.E. And yeah, it's my turn now. Here I'll be discussing paints, hulls and turrets and picking my Top 3 most beautiful aspects of the game - rounding it off with my 'dream tank'. Let's begin! But wait, before I begin, I'd like to tell you all that this is merely my opinion, you don't need to take it for a fact (I know you never do, but anyway :3), and I'd also prefer informing you that different people have different ideas of beauty; we'll never agree on the same thing. In fact, this pretty apt quote by @Night-Sisters sums it all up - Guess we're now ready. Ro! PAINTS (COMMON) #3. NANO I have to confess I had quite a dilemma deciding which paint to pick for this spot. I considered Emerald, Sakura, Cherry and even Carbon, but this paint beat them all to it. A great canvas of hexagonal tiles of cerulean blue, along with a very consistent texture, this paint looks simply majestic. It's a great find for your wardrobe garage and it'll ensure heads turn your way whenever you enter a battle. #2. AFRICA Perhaps the most unconventional paint in the game, Africa seems to remind most people of their "grandma's carpet." However, the ubiquitous styling and the varying patterns on this are a feast for the eyes. Also, the orange-and-yellow colour scheme combines with what looks like a cultural outdeck to create a highly visually appealing coating. #1. GRAFFITI It's a pity this paint wasn't around when the previous Beauty in Tanki articles were made - this paint would certainly have made it to every single list. This is as far as perfection can get when it comes to paints in Tanki Online - it's simply gorgeous. With more colours than an art convention, this paint is quirky, unique and sure to get you parading down maps. With a bright, cheerful colour(s) and a vivid display of hues, this paint is going to make your rivals jealous, wherever you go in Tanki Online. PAINTS (SPECIAL) #3. MASTERS OF PARKOUR 2014 Although exactly similar to it's successor in all ways except colour, the way the two green shades blend together is what wins this paint a podium. With the design reminding me a lot of smoked tiles, this paint makes me wish I had taken the pains of actually making a video to send in to the contest. With the appeal surely to people of all age groups, you can't go much wrong with this paint. #2. GLIDE This time, it's not the design that makes this paint so beautiful, it's the texture and the colour combination. I envy the members of Tanki Online Tutorials purely due to this paint. With the fluorescent stripes across the dark blue base coat, a tank looks like something out of a Christmas tree, or even a sci-fi paint. It looks futuristic, and manages to look awesome even though the layout of the stripes is seemingly random. #1. MICROCHIP A great paint in every sense, allow me to say that this is one of the finest in Tanki. Black and orange always go well together, and this paint is no exception. With the layout of the colours making you look like a circuit board, this one stands out. And to tell the truth, one sometimes get overawed by the sheer intricacy of this paint. Of course, it contrasts very well with the chromium plating on your tank (unless you've got an M0) HULLS #3. HORNET In a tank game, we all expect tanks to be rugged and macho. Well, most of them are, maybe except this specimen right here. It's sleek and petite, something no other tank is. This along with it's almost flat stance with the gentle rise in altitude gives it the looks of a car, a gorgeous car at that. The headlights are placed in the perfect area, and this is one hull that has curves. Top-notch looks. #2. HUNTER I can't seem to figure out whether Hunter was added for the pros or for the fashionistas. This hull has taken the maximum advantage of the availability of chromium plating. My special favourite is the chromium plating on the tracks. Also, the shape of the hull makes it look kind of like a plateau, and the lines running along the body and the body itself ensures that any turret can go with it. This one ticks all the right boxes in my mental list. #1. DICTATOR Dictator is supposedly a heavy hull. And, by stereotype, heavy hulls lack the refined look of the light and medium hulls. Well, time to break this stereotype. With an incredibly realistic and elegant look, this tank has poise, something which most tanks aren't lucky enough to possess. Also, its tall-boy stance makes for a very unique appearance. The detailed chromium plating, the air intakes and even the fuel tank combine with the fundamentals to make one alluring tank. TURRETS #3. FREEZE I don't think really high of this turret; it only features in this list because the others look dismally ugly. But anyway, since I have to put in niceties for everything here, I might as well. Freeze is the one turret in Tanki with such high detailing in the chromium. That, and the cooler fan stuck behind this turret, make for a pretty curvy look. All in all, a very nice-looking gun, and one of the most intricate there is in Tanki. #2. SMOKY Smoky may not look beautiful to many, but believe me, the curves on it give it this rounded look and it looks classic. The chrome is in the right places, the bulge in the turret looks like a part of the turret rather than an accessory, and I don't know how to put it the right way, the turret looks rather cute. It's a sight for sore eyes, if you ask me. #1. VULCAN Ah, Vulcan. Perhaps the most unorthodox (and controversial) decision I've made today. And I admit - it's a pretty ugly entity during the M0, M1 and M2 stage. Come M3, however, and the metamorphosis this turret makes is simply unbelievable. The most contributing factor to its top spot, however, is the way the devs have positioned the carbon fibre over the turret. With the barrel giving just the optimum dash of chrome, the contrast the metal and non-metal parts make against the turret itself is too good for words. A worthy choice, in my opinion, but sadly not noticed by many. And, I guess I've got my dream TO combo now. Vulcan, Dictator and Graffiti. A beautiful, gorgeous looking tank which I'll make sure to buy when I get to the M3 stages. I think now you guys will realize the meaning of the banner, if you hadn't before, heh heh. And it's all not just beauty either. Vulcan is one of the highest damage-dealing turrets in the game. This badass beauty, combined with the versatile, reasonably fast and healthy Dictator, creates a deadly combo used to great effect by those who know the tricks to playing with this combo. And Graffiti is no accessory, either. With a whopping 50% protection from Vulcan, you can be shielded from the others who try to ape your fashion statement, and the 25% protection from Twins and Shaft comes in handy, too! Good choice, eh? And that's the end of this article, my view of what's beautiful in this rugged game. Next issue, I'll be doing an article about the ugliest aspects of the game, so stay tuned. Oh, and don't forget to comment in this thread about your personal favourites! Till we meet again, this is TNT. See you in battle!- 46 replies
